Anyone else's house beginning to show it's age?
Jetsmom replied to The Sound Guy's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Good luck with your problems, owning a home is always about constant maintenance inside and out in the yard. We spent most of the winter cutting back trees and limbs that were too close to the roof. There are a certain subdivisions built during the "housing boom" in this county, and the majority of the houses now need new roofs and painting and siding, etc. I guess when they originally moved in, they just assumed all that they had to do was make a monthly house payment and the place would take care of itself. The same type of people just put gas in their cars and expect them to run -

What ever happened to this plan for Dallas?

Would that be the same kroger that is not open 24 hours any longer? Would that be the same kroger that the managers lied under oath and manipulated the video in the produce section to try and get out of a law suit? -
There are a few graduations that evening and given the prior year fiascos with students and parents (and faculty) being late to the ceremony with roads jammed and no parking available at those schools, that would be my "educated" guess as to what is going on

especially if they have a local tag --- they should know by now where the lane is going to end....

since they vote away your tax dollars too, it probably has become a button for you -
If you remove the word "airport" and change it to "movie studio" do the same facts hold true?

Good luck with the trade situation. You do know, even if you "trade", you still have to pay tax on the "value" of the vehicle when you put the title in your name?

since i have personally seen judge valbuena sentence probation to people guilty of littering and junk cars and loose dogs, you may want to update your personal agenda as to what a "criminal" really is -
The only thing i could find on the AJC's own website was when they were reporting the IRS refusing to answer any more questions in reference to the political targeting that occurred last May http://www.ajc.com/weblogs/jamie-dupree/2013/may/22/irs-official-takes-fifth-political-targeting/

OB/GYN used forceps, in delivery room and Baby died
Jetsmom replied to Mrs G's topic in RECENT TOPICS
A family member of mine was brain damaged from a forceps delivery 30 years ago. A forceps delivery was never suggested with my children, but I would have firmly said NO. I will tell the same to my kids when/if they have children. Sorry, but I would rather warn someone than be concerned if they would be offended. My family member is an awesome person with children of her own. I am proud of her accomplishments, but it could have been different. -
my best advice? go to the carrollton S.S. office instead

You know that they plan to shop anyway. Why not just tell them the name of your favorite charity and ask for a donation to be made. Explain that you really wouldn't appreciate them going through the trouble of giving you something that you def will return. You can't return a donation....at least I don't think you can. I know some folks who return EVERYTHING. Doesn't matter the time or effort that is put into the gift or how hard you try to find something like, it doesn't matter to them. Just an envelope with a donation letter they can turn in on their taxes......It is the time of Givi

I know there are always two sides to every story..... Until the other side of story is told. We don't know what they have already tried to do, if the child was violent and possible was a danger to the other siblings, tortured animals.....it did say he refused to get the help he needed. I'm sorry, but not all 9 year olds are innocent angels who can be given a stern warning or even a good spanking and behave. The kid possibly has mental issues that the family just weren't capable of handling. Kids love threatening people with calling the police on them just for being a responsible adult.

We had a bad experience with (D) ---especially if you have a younger child or even an early teen. Had a much better situation with an ortho in Douglasville

I see what you are talking about--- they moved the signs a few hundred feet after they finished the paving. I don't know if that is where the real county line is located or is it closer to the traffic light up the hill at the old location. But, the other posting is correct, the intersection is completely in Douglas county

Georgia Does Not Have The Highest Vehicle Ownership Cost In The USA
Jetsmom replied to macarose's topic in RECENT TOPICS
All i know is that after visiting the tag office last month, i was told i could pay $110 to renew the tag on a 2005 van (& it goes down slightly each year), or transfer it to my kid's name and pay a one-time fee of $140 and then $25 per year. I paid tax on the van in 2011 when i bought it used and now i have to pay it again -
it really depends on what you are looking for --- surplus and scrap lumber places are becoming rare. If you are wanting doors and windows and trim moulding and toilets and sinks, &hardwood flooring, etc, then i have been going: meades discount doors and more in decatur -- great prices on dented and new stuff dallas millwork in hiram for new quality stuff builders surplus off atlanta road, near I-285 there is also a door and trim place in douglasville with used and new doors, windows and trim, i forgot the name of it, but it is a large warehouse located on durelee lane real

Justifiable homicides up 53 percent in states with stand your ground laws
Jetsmom replied to gpatt0n's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Yes, it would be a perfect world if the only people who would be on the wrong end of a Stand you Ground Law. Also perfect if no innocent victims were ever affected. I hate what happened to those people, but it is possible they did try to stand their ground. -

Maybe not, but they also had their own version of "Stand your ground". I also watch historical stories on the "old west" and it's not that different from what I "thought it was". -

Not everyone is a fan of going back to the days of the old west. You know I don't have a problem with the average who is trained for the proper use of weapons including safety information. It is the ones who have little to no training that I worry about. The ones who might be able to pass a background check while having undiagnosed medical or mental problems. The hot heads or the ones who scare easy. The innocent bystanders, the toddler who reaches into Grandma's purse out of curiosity and finds a loaded weapon. There are just too many ignorant people out there to have faith -
Reminds me of some of the other frivolous prosecutions i have seen over the years. There was a teen back in my high school in the 1980s that was charged with criminal trespass for toilet-paper rolling a yard over near south cobb high school. He was 18, and the rest of the group was 16/17. They arrested him the next day in class & he eventually plead it out & got a record and could not go into the air force after graduation. They tried to get a waiver, but the military would only exempt a "trespass" charge --- the "criminal" trespass (only in georgia) did not qualify.
