  1. Federal is 10% on top of regular income taxes. Not sure if the State will try to get a piece of it or not. It might be taxed under regular State income tax rate. Do you not have an option of doing a loan instead? Edit to add: you will lose 35 percent to 45 percent of the withdrawal in taxes and penalties.
  2. Anything will cause damage if it is to tight and you wear it all the time. DUH. I have been wearing spandex shorts for years, don't laugh. I wore then in the Army for PT, for bike riding and for weight lifting. They provide good support and are comfortable. But they have to fit correctly. And it never interfered with my reproductive system either.
  3. How do I become a slacker? I look around and see other people at work being slackers surfing the web or BSing with others and not taking calls and wish I could do the same. Seems every time I do try to slack off I get guilty after a few minutes and go back to doing my job instead of surfing the web for 20 minutes like others. Some times I wish I had not been raised with good work ethics. It really is a curse.
  4. If your going to play the game don't blame the cops when you get caught playing the game. That is just part of the game. Maybe we should just eliminate speed limits and let it be a free for all. Then we will see how long it will take people to start crying for speed limits. Or you could move to Montana where there is no limit on the Interstates during the day light. Bottom line is people are going to speed and cops are going to be out there enforcing the law, that is after all what they are hired to do.
  5. Of course if you are not going down the road doing 80 you would not have to worry about that issue. It's the people who are doing the speed limit and hit the brakes that bother me.
  6. Rated wrong according to whom? And again, since the roads are not flat and straight and when running radar you have to have a certain amount of clear distance to view the cars there is only so many places where you can effectively run radar and stay within the law. So obviously these are the spots the police are going to run radar. Of course to those that get caught for speeding it becomes a speed trap. However the reality is the police did not trap you into speeding, you made that decision on your own. Roads rated wrong or not no one is forcing you to speed. If there was not so man
  7. I see parents of the year award nomination.
  8. Having spent 6 years in LE I always get a kick out of people complaining about "speed traps". Like the police somehow or another tricked you into speeding. If roads where perfectly straight and flat the police could run speed enforcement at any location that they wanted to but in the real world the roads twist and turn and go up and down so there is only so many locations that speed enforcement can be effectively ran. Of course these locations soon become "speed traps" because it is the only place that people speed in. Or that the speed limit is somehow intentionally lowered so
  9. For those with sleep apnea what made you think you had it?
  10. For several weeks I have had a progressive pain isolated to the center of my palm on my right hand. It never goes to my thumb or fingers like typical carpal tunnel syndrome, it is isolated to just the center of my palm (were the median nerve is located). The pain comes and goes and I have not been able to move my hand or wrist to try to replicate it and pressing on it does not cause any pain. It just happens on and off whether I am using my hand or not. It even happens in the middle of the night. I thought it might be the way I held my mouse when working so I changed up but it still co
  11. E-filed got it back in a week.
  12. Face it kids are full of germs just like an adult. If I was a germaphobe I would not want a baby shower at my house kids or no kids.
  13. You don't have to pay for online access, you have to pay if you want to use the Quicken to download the account information from the bank.
  14. So I have been using Quicken for years with Wachovia/Wells Fargo and never had any problems getting my account to balance each time I updated my account and then reconciled it. Then I switched to SunTrust and have never been able to get the account to balance. I even waited till everything outstanding had cleared the bank, then deleted the account and re-downloaded everything again fresh and it still would never balance when I reconciled the account. I would even go through line by line and could not find any errors yet it would fail to balance with the online balance. Finally got ti
  15. I need to drill a hole between the first floor ceiling and the 2nd floor floor so I can run a phone line upstairs anyone have any idea about long of a drill bit I will need? I am thinking a 6inch bit should do the trick.
  16. Oreck all the way. Great power and very lightweight if you have to carry it up stairs and just plain easier to use. The motor is so powerful it practically pulls itself forward. I also have a Dyson that was given to me. I don't like it, to heavy and bag less vacuums are messy to empty, also does not clean as well as the Oreck and is not able to get into the edges. Only small plus with the Dyson is the attachments, but then again when I bought my Oreck I got one of those small canister vacs that can pick up a bowling ball for free. (also got a cordless iron, love that) Orecks have
  17. Maybe you should stop worrying about your phone and get back to work.
  18. Rule of thumb is if the girl breaks it off she gives back the ring, if the guy breaks it off he is out one ring. Of course like you said why would she want to keep the ring if the engagement gets broken off period. The sensible thing is to give the ring back no matter who breaks it off but we all know how sensible women can be. EDIT to add: The above would be for an engagement. If they were married then the ring is already hers to do as she wants. Asking for it back after a divorce is just petty.
  19. I use vonage for home. If your power goes out so does your phone because it runs through your Internet modem. But the power rarely goes out so it is worth it plus there is the cell phone if needed.
  20. A short nap, no more then 60 minutes, is good for you. I always take a nap on my lunch break at work.
  21. Only good thing about DST is getting paid for 8 hours and only working 7.
  22. A 12-year-old Paulding County boy was found safe Monday evening, several hours after he was reported missing. No information was provided regarding Noah Buran's whereabouts.
  23. Fuzzy math removed. Right, because Warren Buffet never buys anything else other then food. A 7%, or what ever rate, tax is still a 7% tax for everyone regardless of income.
  24. According to the Union president it was a sad day in America because they did not vote to strike. I also liked how he compared the proposed retirement package. He says that a new hire would retire after 30yrs with only $42,000 retirement package. That is solely based on Lockheed Martin contributing $1400 a year to an employee 401k plan. He failed to consider what an employee contributes (gasp) and interest and dividends compounded over the 30 years on the 401k plan. I have that much in my 401k plan after only 7 years at my job with an employee match of up to %6 percent. And I m
  25. Investopedia explains Regressive Tax "Some examples include gas tax and cigarette tax. For example, if a person has $10 of income and must pay $1 of tax on a package of cigarettes, this represents 10% of the person's income. However, if the person has $20 of income, this $1 tax only represents 5% of that person's income." Of course what they fail to consider is if a person has $20 of income then they are more likely to buy twice as much as the person who has $10. If you have $100 income you are more likely to buy even more. Thus paying more in taxes or equal if based on their income
