  1. How do you accidentally get shot?? Guns don't just go off by themselves they need help. why don't they just report the truth, "boy shots his 14 year old cousin."
  2. I stick with the eggbeaters. No cholesterol.
  3. At least my favorites stayed in the list just the channel number changed.
  4. A lot of cars will beep when you lock the doors which is fine. It just perturbs me when people feel that the first beep was not sufficient and have to do it a few more times just to be sure they heard the first beep. Personally I think people beep the car alarm excessively for attention so people will look at them.
  5. Don't get me started on swapping out the box. when I moved they told me I needed to get a new cable box. I had added some new channels so I figured I would get a upgraded box or something. So I go to Marietta, stand in line for 45 minutes, only to receive the exact same cable box that I turned in. Not to mention the girl at the counter giving me attitude when I asked why I needed a new box in the first place if they were just going to give me the exact same thing I already had.
  6. Great, I will have to redo my favorites again?
  7. What is with people and their excessive need to beep their car alarm when they lock their doors? I guess they just don't trust the first beep, or the second and in some cases the third. To me the flashing lights and the fact that I can hear the locks engage is good enough without having to go the extra step of beeping the alarm for good measure.
  8. wow, I got a lot of mileage out of this one.
  9. Texas School Rejects Lesbian Couple's Daughter A Texas couple is upset that their daughter was denied admission to a private school. The school says it does not agree with their lesbian lifestyle and therefore the school would not be a good fit her because it does not back her own personal values taught at home.
  10. Agreed, they should not have done this on Military time but it is not unconstitutional. Their religious freedom was not taken away. They still had a choice, they are just not happy with the outcome. Had the soldiers been free to roam the base like they thought they would get to do for not going this would be a none story.
  11. They did not get time off for going to the religious event. They were at the religious event. No different then when you are in training and don't go to church on Sunday. You don't just get to run around the base, you stay in the barracks and do what ever it is that you need to do. I have already stated that the NCO who had them do barracks maintenance made a bad decision in what he had them do, but even if the soldiers just had to stay in the barracks and do nothing they would have complained because they thought they should just have "free time" to run around the base and do what the
  12. thought this was in the tonk for a minute.
  13. The soldiers were not forced to go to the concert. They did not have to give up any religious freedom. They are bitching because they did not just get let go for the day so they could do what ever they wanted to do. Smith said he and the other soldiers were told not to use their cell phones or personal computers and ordered to clean up the barracks. BFD, might not have been the smartest move by their NCO to have then clean up the barracks but they are on "company" time so they would have to do something else not just be free to do what ever they want. You don't get to choose w
  14. They did not give up their freedom of religion. They were given a choice, attend or do something else. When you are in Military you don't just get "free time" because you chose not to do something that is a planned event or a Military function. Apparently you have never been in the Military.
  15. These soldiers where in training and given a choice, attend the concert or do something else. The concert was part of their scheduled activities for that day so they don't just get "free time" because they chose not to attend.
  16. It's a shell game at wal-mart. They roll back prices on somethings then raise the price on others to cover the previous mentioned roll-back. That and the raise in the minimum wage is obviously going to cost consumers more. You can't expect a company to have to pay their workers more without passing that cost along to the consumer. Same with taxes. Raised taxes on goods you dont expect the retailer to just suck up the extra cost do you?
  17. According to the fair debt collection act. Within five days of their first contact with you, the debt collector must send you a written notice telling you: * How much money you reportedly owe; * The name of the creditor to whom the debt is owed; * That unless you, within thirty days after receipt of the notice, dispute the validity of the debt or any portion thereof, the debt will be assumed valid by the debt collector; * That if you dispute the debt in full or in part within that thirty day period, the debt collector will obtain verification of the debt and mail it
  18. But if you send then a letter then you have validated your information to them and they might continue to try to scam you in the future. They probably do some sort of data mining to get your address info then send out the bogus letter hoping that you will fall for it or at the least call or return a letter which will then validate that they actually have a real person at the other end of the address. It is sort of a double edge sword. Good luck and thanks for the heads up.
  19. I don't see the humor of it but that is just me. My guess is the Corner made a fuss at the station and then refused to leave at which time the officers did not have much choice but to arrest him. Still not getting the funny part of it.
  20. Because soup chickens have nothing better to do. To the OP Pcom is basically an equivalent to local news. So just like your regular news channel, no names where publicly posted until the family members were notified. And then the first mention of a name came from someone who was in direct consultation with the family and was posted to his FaceBook page. After that all bets are off. Its a double edged sword.
  21. First paying job was when I was 13. I worked in a onion factory. Basically it was a guy who would purchase 50lbs bags of yellow, red and white onions from local farmers and then he would hire us kids to skin/peel the onions. The onions were then sold to local restaurants in 25lbs bags for salads, cooking, onion rings stuff like that. I got paid something like 75 cents a bag. Obviously cash under the table.
