  1. Lindsay Lohan was charged Wednesday with felony grand theft in a Los Angeles, Calif. court. She allegedly stole a necklace worth $2,500 from a Venice, Calif. store. The actress will be arraigned at 1:30 PM PT, at which time she will have her mug shot taken and have the opportunity to post bail. LILO Charged With Grand Theft So she's been out of rehab maybe a month? What a shame. This young lady needs some boundaries that obviously weren't set by her parents or her guardians. Her sense of entitlement is amazing. I guess another hour or two in jail will be the punishment and
  2. I like the show but they get awfully "preachy". On what planet should we not prosecute an armed robber because they are poor?
  3. Make sure that you know the mileage on the used rear end. You may be trading one worn out diff for another.
  4. She would on the Disney Channel.
  5. You're right. That's why I am a fan of Americana. It's where all of the folk singers, alt-country, and honky tonk folks hang their hat with traditional blues based American roots music. A lot of people like Dylan, Cash, Cline, Guthrie, Seeger, Joplin and Williams would never make it today in a world where videos are far more important than live music, song writing skills, and pure musical talent. I often wonder how many real musical talents give up because they have a face for radio.
  6. She has always reminded me of Patsy Cline.
  7. Oh My! Promo Broccoli wins by a nose.
  8. I just want to know if singers are being paid by the syllable now.
  9. Good Lord, rent a sense of humor or something. It was a funny skit. Besides, Christina Aguilera is a paid professional who should be able to sing a song we all learned in the second grade. I mean her addition of several thousand syllables that weren't in the song aside, she should at least know the words by now. If not, perhaps a little rehearsal would have been in order. Very funny Wade and Hillary.
  10. I think we all know the answer to that question.
  11. Bull Crap. They control investments, they control stock sales, they control participation in FED programs, they control mortgage requirements, they control executive hiring, firing, and compensation, and they control loan program participation. In short, they control nearly every aspect of the operation of these two companies along with a few others such as Ally.
  12. Being under the complete control of a Federal Conservator appointed by the US Department of Treasury is not spin. Being the largest shareholder by a wide margin is not spin. It's a cold hard fact. It means that the Federal Government is for all intents and purposes the "owner" of the bank and controls every move they make. The rest is political semantics.
  13. I wasn't a big Thin Lizzy fan, but Moore was a very good guitarist, and 58 is way too young to die. What a shame.
  14. Many economists consider the takeover of both Citi and Nationsbank (the two banks I spoke of) to be partial nationalizations since they were brought under conservatorship by the US Government. The Federal Government became by far the largest stockholders and had special rights on the board of Directors of both corporations as well as final say in the day to day financial activities of both ex-private corporations. They even set compensation. That sounds a whole lot like nationalization to me. They have since sold some stock to partially pay back the taxpayer, but remain in a conservatorsh
  15. Well bless your heart. I guess that your selectively posting the significantly lower percentage, bothering to copy a cute graph, and not giving the reason for the change was a simple oversight, certainly not spin. <sarcasm> \ BTW sweety pie sugar bear baby cakes, I get my information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics instead of some NPR talking head. That way I am assured of getting more than the official DNC version of the story. And if you will reread my post, you will discover that I said that all of the ingredients for stagflation are there. The rest is up to Bernanke to s
  16. From the "unofficial" K-Mart Blog, Kmart store closings in 1st half of 2011 are in Wisconsin, Utah, Ohio, New Jersey and at least two in Illinois. There was no mention of Georgia, however Sears Holdings does not officially announce store closings until they are underway. It usually takes about 3 months to close a store. All we can tell for sure is that we were not in the January announcement. The Sears Appliance Store across the street is part of a retail experiment to sell more upscale appliances in a showroom atmosphere.
  17. Good Lord. The economy added only 36,000 jobs. I would expect such inaccurate spin from someone who doesn't know how the headline "unemployment rate" is calculated, but you know full well that the economy added only 36,000 jobs, but there are 319,000 people that simply dropped out of the the labor force because they gave up looking. That's good news how exactly? The participation rate is down and that's where the magic number comes from, not from some bright and rosy employment picture. In short, the headline unemployment number which is the number of unemployed divided by the civil
  18. Nothing like bangin' a sleeper to boost your face time on CNN eh? He fancies himself a freedom fighter, but he's just another scumbag with a website regardless of how you view the leaked military and DOS documents themselves.

  20. It appears that the founder of Wikileaks, Julian Assange, has had many of his police documents concerning accusations of rape against him leaked onto the internet. He met two women who have accused him of rape in separate incidents shortly after he leaked secret US documents about the war in Afghanistan. He is currently fighting extradition to Sweden to stand trial. AP Article
  21. Just a small point. The county has been spending our money to keep the suit out of court, not to establish their innocence. That doesn't sound like someone who is confident in a win to me. That is of course unless they just want to give our money to the attorneys for the County anyway. That would be another reason to drag out the process.
  22. Check out United States v. Butler, 56 S. Ct. 312, 297 U.S. 1, 80 L. Ed. 477. The courts sided with the Madisonian interpretation of Article I, Section 8 as modified by the tenth amendment. The General Welfare Clause does not give Congress the power to legislate for the general welfare of the country, because that power is a power reserved to the states through the Tenth Amendment which supersedes and clarifies the original intent of the framers in the limiting of Federal powers. However it is the very vagueness of the term "general welfare" that leads many to erroneously presume that this giv
  23. According to the Georgia PSC Website the current low price for both fixed and variable rates is Coweta/Fayette EMC. We currently have Walton EMC Natural Gas who is within pennies of the low price and are consistently competitive. Both serve the entire AGL pipeline system including Paulding, Douglas, and parts of Cobb and Bartow. Note: If you are a customer of Austell Natural Gas, you can not change as ANG is a public utility, not a gas marketer.
