  1. FYI - know this is a joke; but it can go thru the dishwasher and then dry out for several days; and that is not a joke. My keyboard has mucho chardonnay on it right now!!
  2. Ridge Rd is terrible and it would certainly open my world if it was de-iced in some way!
  3. Isn't it beautiful? I hope we get at least one more this year!
  4. I also live in Buckingham Parke and decided to give it a try; I turned around and came home. Poole Bridge was an ice rink! Your are right - not worth it.
  5. Well now, let me tell you what they did "back in the day" of outdoor potties. They used a Sears catalogue - I kid you not. Have a neighbor you can borrow from??? That is one item that I buy in bulk and never run out!! LOL Wipe your heiney in the grass.
  6. I am off Poole Bridge - off Ridge Rd. Feel bad not going in to work but it sounds pretty bad in my immediate area. Has anything improved?
  7. According to wsbtv, Ridge rd is closed. Keep pushing those fluids into him until you can get the pedialyte; so sorry! But you know kids - In early 80's, my little one did dehydrate and had to make our way thru blizzard to hospital. They just pick the wrong times to get sick. Maybe sun will bring some relief.
  8. I decided that a loaded baked potato and chili sounds very inviting! And you?
  9. There are always crafts. Make placemats or pictures with macaroni and glue and toothpicks - whatever you can find.
  10. Depends what type they are. The best stuff I ever used is very poisonous and called "Ant Terror" from Home Dep. It contains arsnic. Put out a few drops on a piece of paper and the ants come get it and take it back to their "nest". Don't kill them while they are doing this. But beware, not to be used around pets or kids.
  11. That is what we are all about. I get so much information and advice from this board; and when he needed to turn to someone; he turned here and people reached out. How wonderful that he trusted everyone enough to bare his emotional soul. My prayers are with him and his family.
  12. Well I am also an old fart who needs to lose a trillion pounds. I work a lot of hours and do not get home until 6:00. So what do we do? Some weekends together - the driveway thing once a week plus a weekend thing? Post each day on following a plan or not? I am very interested. I would like to jump in with buddies whenever possible.
  13. Too late now; but I think you can rent them from medical supply? Just for a trial.
  14. That is funny! They are very smart critters (well, most; I have one who has to rely on the others.
  15. That actually happens in Indiana! And your nose hairs freeze; a very weird feeling. OK; my joke is a little dirty - my Mom always said it is colder than a witches boob (she didn't say boob) in a brass brassiere.
  16. When I lived in the north, we had a house where the pipes froze about 6 times. Up there they build subdivisions in the middle of treeless fields and if the wind blows just right; you are a goner! I finally had to wrap the pipes in heating wires (while hubby was in freakin Puerto Rico telling me not to go to bed until I wrapped all the pipes in the garage). I was on a first name basis with the plumber because our pipes burst and flooded the garage and family room so often. I feel your pain! Sure hope they did not burst!
  17. Mine, too; although not nearly as much as yours!! Feels great doesn't it??
  18. Prayers for his safety and peace to the family as God envelopes them in his arms.
  19. Chardonnay and possibly some bourbon milk punch!
  20. LOL - So I am guessing the "19" was a typo; but I get the picture! Thanks.
  21. And still receive your full benefits? Is it a percentage of the benefits? I know I should ask HR but not interested in starting the giant rumor that I am asking questions about retirement.
