  1. We bought an oven there and they wanted a bunch of cash to deliver it. So we started walking away. The salesgal chased us down and dropped the delivery charge to a buck.
  2. Elect more liberals and watch how stupid things can get.
  3. You got anything that I can learn to send back to the jerk who hijacked my email name and started sending spam out? I need something that I can send back that would destroy their system. Price really not an object.
  4. Brats and Bush's Smokehouse Grillin' Beans
  5. Sorry, Madman. Those tests are full of obfuscation, fuzzy use of "compartmentalization" vs. "lap belts", and do not include accidents when students are using buses on field trips, such as ball games or other out-of-class activities. School districts in several states, Ohio, Alabama, Texas, and others are actively pushing for seat belt laws that require use of belts.
  6. If safety mattered, school buses would be included.
  7. Go to vrbo. Look up Gulf Shores condos, unit 904 royal palms. If interested, use vrbo to contact me.
  8. Also me... the kind that tint themselves according to the light.
  9. Puh-leeze, get rid of this thread. Enuf already.
  10. Doc, it seems as though you should be taking the class to learn how to make your complicated life more understandable to the great unwashed.
  11. I completely agree. The tattoo will always remind you of the past... at least wait until you have something new worth a forever reminder. For me, being free is not having anything that might be an inadvertent drag.
  12. No one works on riding lawnmowers. They just get on and ride around.
  13. Schools should do more to be like life really is. We are all supposed to get equal opportunity. That has never meant equal results. To pretend it does is to live a lie.
  14. We take our two dogs to Waterdogs, between Villa Rica and Rose's store. Look 'em up at waterdogkennels.com. They have a large outdoor facility and also train dogs. We avoid veterinarian boarding because close quarters can lead to illness, even in places where shots are required. At least that's our feeling. Shots are required at Waterdogs, also.
  15. You should see something within a week of the initial schedule. And, if it's not too late, don't pay until they show up. Then, only about one-fourth.
  16. This is an example of the pervasive belief of "it takes a village" in failure. I'm sure if the adult to whom you consigned your child's safety had been required to rescue your child from drowning, you would have been grateful. In face, he taught your child a lesson, in your absence, not to endanger someone else. You seem able to use a "boys will be boys" attitude because you weren't there. What if you had been? If the other boy had been hurt by your son's action? The "mother bear" emotion is understandable, if you understand it stems from your own guilt at not being close at hand. The o
  17. Dang. Did you just wake up?
  18. Go. It's worth it. If you're the sort who cries at emotional movies, you'll be so enthralled at this real show of respect and love you'll forget you own concerns.
  19. Credit Counseling will cost you more and get you in trouble. You still have to pay the debts Try listening to Clark Howard. The question comes up often and the answers are all consistent.
  20. A creole spice called Tony Chachere's. It works on steak, chicken, fish and in most vegetables. It's available in Publix and most supermarkets. Add to taste. And in lean meats, marinade the meat first in a mix of Worcestershire sauce and lemon or lime juice,
  21. Toss a chicken thigh in the water near some rocks... have a net ready. You'll come up with enough crabs to make a meal.
  22. Maybe it goes for that cavernous courthouse that has only a couple of dozen people in it. Take a ground floor walk down the corridor where permits and business licenses are issued. (read: sold). I was there today and there were 3 employees visible, and one section... Environmental Health... had a note on the counter with a phone number and saying nobody was in. And who's the genius that put most of the employees (those who collect taxes for cars and homes) on the top floor? Hope there's no fire in there. OK, I'm off -topic, but what a freakin' waste.
  23. Just like the politician of the same last name... a revenue enhacner for any government which discovers it can use the term.
  24. Now, New Jersey's problem is taxes in the stratosphere. Property taxes are roughly 10 times more than Georgia... in large part because houses there are priced much higher. But the result is they're running ordinary people out of state. Another gift from democrats.
