  1. Mmmmmmmmmmm...dishy Mike Rowe. Also, I agree with him. Plumbers and hairdressers and mechanics won't be nearly as hurt by bad economic times as other people. I guarantee you had I become a hairdresser and opened my own shop, I would have made more than I have to date in my life. (However, money is not the only factor, so I do not regret not having done so.) But back to the main issue - Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm...dishy Mike Rowe. :hubbahubba:
  2. No, and no. Correct! The folks in China at the Chengdu Research Base are very happy because healthy females are in great demand just for this reason.
  3. I saw that!!! How precious. They found out about Po in testing in preparation for being sent to China (along with 5yo Xi Lan). Then they decided they'd better test the twins' DNA, and holy cow, they're girls. Apparently it's quite difficult to determine prior to adulthood. http://www.zooatlanta.org/home/article_content/panda_update_females They're about 15 lbs. each now.
  4. Hey, that's awesome!!! I've always wanted to do something like that. Good for you!
  5. RE: the thread title, I always think, NO, they don't know it's Christmas! Half of them are Muslim, half of them are in civil wars where the other side chops off body parts routinely, half of them don't believe anything, half of them are so poor they would be thrilled with a solid meal and forget Christmas, etc. (And yes, I know my fractions are off. )
  6. I agree! As I said in my post prior to this, it is possible that the powers that be could present us with information that would turn our opinions around and persuade us to agree with what they're doing. However, since they've done nothing but obfuscate and be condescending to those with concerns, our opposition remains. Whatever.
  7. I second this!!! As someone who's never been married, it really does do the heart good to read stories like this and observe marriages where both parties love and respect the other (like my brother/SIL and my parents). I'm not sorry I've never married, because I've never found the love like y'all describe, but it is nice to know that it's possible should the occasion ever present itself.
  8. They're saying 20,000 jobs. Besides the sporting fields (in use all year), Bass Pro Shops, various other retail thingies, a Coca-Cola sports medicine research facility, and a major sports healthcare facility (largest of its type in the world). I mean, this thing is HUGE...we're not talking some podunk rec-type fall field complex here. And it has mondo backing. I'd say just the grading that's going on is $2M. http://www.lakepointsports.com/
  9. Too many variables, which is why I don't like hypothetical questions. But taking your question at face value, I'd find the family member guilty. Vigilante justice is not legal in this country. One could see the sense in giving him/her a lighter sentence than a regular case, however.
  10. Amen. God bless you, GB, for being so kind to the man and his dog.
  11. Euharlee is just the cutest little place. I didn't know about this - I'll have to check it out.
  12. Gotta go with tundra on this one, for a couple of reasons. First, I've spoken with both Mr. Austin and Mr. Barnett one-on-one regarding several concerns, and each time was left with the distinct impression that I had been patted on the head and told "you just let us handle the big bidness, little lady". Second, a town hall meeting would more accurately show the level of support (or not) of the airport deal. If all sides get a chance to speak, with an agenda as mentioned previously so that things don't get out of hand, that would surely make a lot of people feel better. And to turn
  13. At this point, you actually have to ask? (Saith the cynic. )
  14. I'll add my dittos. Much ado about nothing.
  15. Wow. Hope lives. Great development.
  16. The House will not kill it. As Michael Walsh so astutely observed in National Review online awhile back, the GOP is the Washington Capitols to the Democrats' Harlem Globetrotters - they are the designated loser and are compensated handsomely for their role.
  17. Best phrase I've heard all week.
  18. Fred's always has a good deal on blinker fluid.
  19. Yeah, his door is always open. OK, yeah, fine, whatever. I could not agree with the speaker more. What a great speech. AWESOME!!! :clapping: Also, kudos to Pubster for posting the video. We do not always see eye-to-eye, but he's one of the best old-time journalists I've ever run across.
  20. Oh, that is just awesomer than awesome. Thanks for sharing, Smoke...I know you and your wife are just over the moon with happiness. And special thanks to our own dear Blondie for helping us Facebook refuseniks out by posting updates here. I am so excited he got his port out. I know he is, too. Praise the Lord. What fantastic news. :cray:
  21. I hate people. Like animal owners who don't take care of them. Bless her heart...just doin' her regular doggy thing, not bothering anybody. :sigh: That's sad they didn't even claim her. Guess they didn't want to be stuck with vet bills. I'm so thankful other people saw to her, though. God bless all of them.
