  1. I can honestly say that I would probably stop at the gas station at Crossroads for a biscuit before I would stop at Vito's simply because I don't trust other drivers and wouldn't want to left turn in that traffic twice a morning. I only stop at Vitos if I'm right turning....but I pretty much only stop anywhere if I'm right turning or have a light. I'm a chicken. I don't pass through there before 7am anyway, though. 2. In love with your new picture. My 'high school sweetheart' was in the military and had been shipped of to Afghanistan. He tried to talk me into dating other people, since we were really just best friends that dated, but I wouldn't hear anything about it. My other best friend got sick of me moping around and made me go to band practice with her. We pulled up at the garage, and 'the band' guys were all outside, shirtless, skateboarding in the road. Before we even got out of the car, I pointed at one guy and said 'Whoooo is that?'. She said 'Dxh - we were going to hook you up with him but yo
  3. Somebody mentioned that he was in JROTC camo uniform, so I'm going to say this: I was at the parade area from 10am through atleast 4:30 pm....and many of us on/working with the P.com float kept commenting about the exact same thing. Once, we went to pull in, and two JROTC kids in camo went running full speed right infront of the truck. Two or three other times, they took off across the parking lot, also running full speed and dodging and jumping over other parade items to get to wherever they were going. As we were actually dancing in the parade and their part was over, they were running up th
  4. Just to make you feel a little better, last time I checked the records they email out every year there was one rape on campus in the past four years and it was in a dorm. The first part doesn't, actually. The second part does bother me. I just know exactly how pissed off students are when they come into our office and how many have to be intervened with security. I also know how many times people in our office have been cornered and even held in their office. Just scary.
  5. Hmmm...I can see both sides. I am a student that walks around a dimly lit campus to class and my car at 10pm. I would feel much better if I had a way of protecting myself other than running to the nearest blue light to press a 'help' button. However, I also work on campus in an office that gets threatening and very angry student....I don't know that, as a person in my position, I want to even consider the fact that students could have guns on campus.
  6. Do you realize how hard it's goign to be to sing, stay on pitch and not lose your voice while laughing at us?
  7. That's one pair for each of us, right?
  8. I was notified of this at lunch per my boss - they're concerned about the portion of the legislation that would allow students to carry firearms onto campus. Can't say I'm all that excited about it, but I thought I'd share anyway. Is this old news? Does anybody have anymore information? This is what I know: http://www.legis.state.ga.us/legis/2009_10/sum/hb615.htm And I found this on another forum by googling, which isn't the best source, but it's all I could find: SECTION 1 - This section of the bill addresses the concealed carry law and permits the concealed carry of weapons, rath
  9. Thanks! The headband is actually just folded material that I got at Wal-Mart for less than $2. I worked on it for about an hour and a half on Tuesday and got as far as the picture below. Most of that hour and a half was just working on proportions and outline - I redrew it about fifteen hundred times, I think...and went through multiple pieces of paper. Last night I worked on the rest of it from about 10:30-1am, in between HR refusing to go to bed. I work better and faster with music playing - I swear I finished this project in time thanks to The Beatles.
  10. I'll post 'em when I get them back - they're loose drawings, not detailed, so don't get too excited. Also, most of the models were male. One looked like Denis Leary.
  11. Just likeness....general proportions, appropriate shading, and similarity to the subject.
  12. Next Tuesday. Tonight I may get some of my other work back - I have pictures of those also, but they're still life's and whatnot.
  13. Thanks! She's a little ticked that I captured her crooked smile and need for braces, though. The top of her head in the portrait is actually the back of her head - she's looking down. I actually made her whole face about an inch bigger than it was supposed to be. I should probably rework that though - thanks! Thanks.
  14. My final assignment for my art class this semester was a compilation of nude charcoal drawings from a model, which I've already turned in, and then a self portrait. This was my first semester venturing into drawing people, which has always scared me - not to mention my first semester drawing since 2003. The self portrait, only my second portrait ever, was to include some sort of reflection of myself and my life....so I included my daughter. Tell me whatcha think. I have until 6:30 to make final adjustments to it. I know I need to poof up her hair a little bit because it looks flat, and
  15. Hey.....you should use your Hot Heart Massagers to keep you warm! I know I plan on boiling mine so I can use it. That is, if Mark can get me to show up in the cold, anyway.
  16. I was thinking more along the age of 35 or 40, simply because so many still hold tight to the belief that you shouldn't have children until you're married and women start to have fertility issues in their late 30's and early 40's. Then again, that might help with the overpopulation issue. I completely agree with you, though. I, at 18, had no freakin' clue what I was getting myself into when I got married. I was just a baby. I'm still just a baby, really, only one with more common sense. I can't say that I'd let myself get married at 24, either. You said it much better than I
  17. I think any human should be allowed to legally marry any other human they wish. I think a wedding ceremony taking place in a church with a pastor should be limited to man and woman, simply because Christian religions believe that only a man and woman can marry. In my opinion, legality of marriage with the government and the actual ceremony 'before God' are two completely different things.
  18. Ah...no. His wallet and his cell phone are his personal stuff...I don't go through or look in anything of his, including his email and facebook when it's left logged in. Actually, I didn't even like having to get into his wallet to get his ID and insurance card when we had to go to the ER. I'm all about private space. It's not that it's anything that I 'shouldn't see'...I just think people still need 'their own' stuff, even when in a relationship. The first time he was looking for something and I walked in to see him digging through my purse, I'm pretty sure I could have shot bullets with my e
  19. Meh. I don't really like any of those with that dress. Maybe these: http://www.journeys.com/shi/product.aspx?id=138912&p=shoes&c=937 I actually really like the fringe booties with it, but wish they were made out of something other than suede.
  20. Love, love, love the dresses. I don't think there is a 'rule' on booties. I think it entirely depends on the dress...those two in particular are a bit too 'flowy' for booties. I bet you can come up with something super cute though.
  21. I have an ex husband and a five year old. Thanks - I'm gonna need it. Back to the OP - no, he didn't ask. Neither did Dxh. I probably would have shot them both if they did. Dxh and I did, however, invite my wonderful step-dad to the service...nobody was there but a few of our closest friends. Out of all four of my parents, he was the only one there. If either had asked him for permission, he would have rolled his eyes, smiled, and said 'Well, sure.'
  22. I caught this story earlier today. I can't imagine - that's only a year from my entire life.
