That's great news. It's always wonderful to hear of a company that will stand behind their product.

Dang Mark - you stole my line.

I love Clint Eastwood. Here's another appropriate Eastwood character quote: "Go ahead, make my day".

I wonder what this guy is thinking?

Condolences and prayers for you and your family. -
No security program is 100% effective. There are sites with malicious code that can infect you just by visiting the site. You minimize the risk of this by keeping windows and an AV program up to date. Again this is no guarantee as it seems the hackers are always a little ahead of the AV companies and Microsoft. A few other tips for minimizing the risk: 1. Don't open email attachments; even if it's from someone you know. If you do get something from someone you know, make sure that they really sent it to you. Email attachments are the number one way viruses and trojan horses get into

I have never been a big fan of Internet Security programs which add such things as a firewall in addition to a anti-virus program. I think the AV along with the Windows firewall or a router (which is a firewall) is sufficient. I think that Microsoft Security Essentials is a fine program. My only issue with it is that some have reported problems with it updating automatically and running scans automatically. If you are willing to manually update it and manually scan, I say go for it. Otherwise, I recommend AVG for a free solution or NOD32 for paid.

I enjoyed it, but I must confess that I did not recognize most of the performers. -
Each manufacturer has so many models out there it is hard to nail it down to one particular one. I suggest visiting amazon.com and reading the reviews on the various models. I have found the user reviews very valuable.

Wow. HP usually makes pretty good stuff. Is it still under warranty? I like Canon and Epson printers.

If the computer is running really slow, it may take 10 minutes or so. If it never opens, the infection is blocking it. You could also try starting in safe mode: 1. Restart the computer. 2. As soon as you see anything on the screen, begin tapping the F8 key about once per second until you see a boot menu. 3. One of the options on the boot menu will be "safe mode". Use the arrow keys to highlight safe mode and press enter. 4. Select "administrator" at the login screen. 5. A "Yes" or "no" box will eventually pop-up. Select "no". 6. Hopefully this will open the system restore option.

For Some Jobs, Asperger's Syndrome Can Be An Asset

I love stories like this. There are so many folks that have conditions that most would view as a disadvantage. It's great to see a so called disadvantage turned into an advantage. Dare I say that we are all disadvantaged in some way, and we would do well to determine what we are good at? -
Try doing a system restore back to an earlier time (the infection may not let you do this) and then install your anti-virus and malware bytes (malwarebytes.org). To be honest, it is usually quicker to to back up your data, format the drive and reinstall windows than it is to try and remove every infection. Also, it is really impossible to know for sure that every infection is removed without formatting the drive.

Oooh - you gonna be in trouble.

Great video title LPPT.

I stay ticked off at the USPS anyway, so this is not even a factor in my dissatisfaction with them.

It was a pleasure helping you. You are to kind. I always shoot straight with people. I would also feel really dumb charging for an on-site service call for a problem that can be fixed over the phone at a greatly reduced rate. I have a 15 year old and a 13 year old that can shovel snow, but thanks for the offer.

I agree. I'm glad that they took her benefits away.

Glad to see that the issue is settled.
