I have studied the Fair Tax and feel pretty familiar with it. I have sent emails asking questions about this dirty little secret and the only response that I have received is that the poor sap that is a saver is just out of luck if the FT is ever implemented. Here's the scenario: Bill scrimped and saved so that he had $100,000 in a bank account. He has already paid income tax of 25% plus he will still have to pay the 23% sales tax since the fair tax was implemented. Bills original earnings that were taxed under the income tax system at 25% = $133,000 -25% = $100,000 Bill has

The Fair Tax is anything but fair for those that are savers. Got money in the bank that you have already payed income tax on? Guess what? You will pay tax on it again when you spend it under the Fair Tax plan.

I agree with you as long as the following 3 statements are true: 1. The person needs to be disciplined enough to make regular backups. 2. The backup needs to be kept off-site in case of fire, theft, tornado, etc. 3. DVD's should be burned again every 4-5 years since they will go bad.

I use Carbonite but Mozy is a good choice as well. Mozy gives you 2GB for free. Both are priced at $55/year or you can pay a monthly fee. You can read how Carbonite works by clicking here: http://www.carbonite.com/how_it_works/ If anyone is interested in Carbonite, shoot me a PM and I will send you an email invite and you will get an extra month free after your 15 day free trial.

The decline of goods producing employees is not surprising at all given the number of industries that have outsourced everything to China and other countries.

Call ATT and let them know you are having a problem. They are usually very responsive. -
That reminds me of something I just read in Reader's Digest: An insurance company denied a claim for the the circumcision of a newborn. The reason for the denial was listed as "member not found".

You and I are on the exact same page as far as the top three go. However, if I had to pick one at this point, Casey would be my choice.

WB you just reminded me of a restaurant that I was in recently that did not have any forks. I had to eat my biscuit and gravy with a spoon.

Very strange and a complete scam. Given the numbers of infected computers, I would not at all be surprised if Internet Service providers began notifying individuals to have their computers cleaned or face the possibility of being disconnected.

An interesting question and one I would like to see other conservatives address. Personally, as a conservative, I do not believe that government should be involved in the welfare business at all. Welfare should be provided by non-profits which operate on donations. If we, as a society, fail to voluntarily care for those with legitimate needs, we are no better than a primitive cannibal tribe that eats its neighbours.

That reminds me of another warning I forgot to post. If you receive an email that has "Nude Pics of Nancy Pelosi" as the title, do not open as it may actually contain nude pics of Nancy Pelosi. -
And yet another scam... More here.

I think it is important to note that this bill would require testing both for those receiving welfare and for those receiving unemployment payments. I'm not sure that we really need to test those that have lost their job due to the economy or other circumstances that were not their fault. I wholeheartedly support testing for those receiving welfare because they are nothing more than baby factories, (I also support forced sterilization for them and the men that produce babies that they do not or cannot support).
