Commission votes 4-1 to fire Talley, Richardson and Cable law firm
Blunt Trauma replied to gpatt0n's topic in Fastread page
"and the second to request that Ms. Skipper resign from the firm and serve as interim legal counsel for the county." Resign from a firm to accept an interim position? Nope. There's about to be a new law firm in the county. I expect they have a client already lined up. -
Must be something that built up on them. Got a new roof from them a yaear ago January, not a single problem. It's hard when situations and people change in the structure of a reliable local business. I seem to remember some nashing of teeth about a local tree company that was changing for the worse a while back. Even my favorite local mechanic shop is going thru the same thing. I haven't seen them mentioned here yet, but I expect it's coming.

If the edge hasn't become to damaged, what you want to do can probably be accomplished by backfilling. Any standing asphalt joint should be backfilled as a matter of course. Plus it's cheaper.

Can't say about that location, but as a chain: More meat than SW, better meat than both. Better bread than blimpie. Slightly more expensive than both.

Is your problem with the drive a roughness problem or a water problem? You can solve a roughness problem with aggregate. However, and if you never believe anything else I say, believe this, you rarely to never can solve a water problem with it alone. Especially if that problem involves a significant slope. You can and will end up chasing your tail for years that way. If you have a grading and drainage problem work to fix that by grading, ditching and piping. I'm in the middle of a one man hand dug project to fix the exact same problem you have. You're welcome to come by and get an idea or two

Wish they'd price differently. It's hard to order there without going for the full carbo load combos. Good chicken though.

Walmart aims at Amazon with free two-day shipping offer

I stand corrected. Bought the membership a couple years back and was unaware of a change. Bet they change it back now. -
Walmart aims at Amazon with free two-day shipping offer
Blunt Trauma replied to Brian's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Competition is good. It didn't say what you'd have to sign up for anything. If it's for all orders over $35, they'd have to have the shipping address and card info. I'd imagine they'd offer an account set up if you want one for easy ordering. You can order from amazon without setting up an account and get free shipping on $35 orders. You have to pay the membership to get the two day free. I can see them getting my business with a better price and the free shipping as long as its not another annual fee. -
Yep, small claims or whatever they call it now. Phone calls aren't going to get you anywhere, you need to create a paper trail. You need to start with a letter. Certified is best. Before you get to small claims, just some things to consider, they will be brought up, believe me I've written a lot of the same type of letter you're going to get back. This ain't me saying anything mean about you, this is just what you can expect. Writing is king, if you signed something, you'll need a copy and you want to read it and understand it. When contracting disputes come up, exactly what was agreed to

You folks are just not good at describing a chili dog. Can not one amongst you wax poetic about the gastronomic joy that is the chili dog with mustard and onions? So far I got "meh" and "good", as descriptors go, those leave a great deal of space. Just as a public service to you folks, I went out and thru my body across the rr tracks that are Mcdonald's food 'cause the "Grand Mac" commercial got to me. Now when I was young you would occasionally luck up on some fresh big macs hot and straight off the grill and then wrapped in a cardboard sleeve and surrounded by foil. That wrapper would st

Happened across a news feed with local restaurant inspection scores and one of them was a place called Willie T's Dawgs & Burgers that looks to be where the coffee shop was in downtown Hiram. (They got an A by the way) How in the world is a fella supposed to know you've opened up a hot dog joint without you tellin' anybody? So, has anybody been? Please, please let it be good.

Its a long shot as to whether or not they were talking about 92, but. There was a plan many moons ago to extend the west hiram bypass to connect to 92 north of Hiram. That would have then been made the new route of 92 and the existing road thru town would be given over to local control. That seemed to go away sometime before Bill Carruth was built and then 4 laned. I don't know now if the alignment of 92 will change to Bill Carruth or if they'll just let it ride the way it is.

Got Anything "Funky" Happening With Your Car Insurance?
Blunt Trauma replied to Christopher Robin's topic in RECENT TOPICS
The big upfront criteria for insurance rates are tickets and accidents. There are other things they factor into rates for existing customers that you would think have nothing to do with insurance. If you think back is there anything that changed in your life the year before the insurance issue? Anything that would create a record they can access. Financial, health, employment, even lawsuits etc. etc. -
That's what I'm figurin'. Same for the sheriff or maybe they're spending more time in general over here. I'd encourage that. Shady, shady stuff starting to be a "norm" around about. #1 for the day just now. PD going EB.

I cast no aspersions, surely they're on calls, it's just concerning. There's been two folks killed within sight of my driveway in just normal Nebo traffic. One was an older lady who pulled out of a driveway in front of traffic. Things like that are easy on a road with trees growing right up to the road combined with hills causing site distance issues, which was the case in that incident. I neglected to mention that ambulance runs on Nebo went up probably 50% after Metro took over. Put it all together and its just dangerous. Optimally, there would need to be a pick for a 5 lane road across the

There went #2 for the day.

Just an observation and maybe a little psa on the side. Something apparently changed in the last month or two that has led to a HUGE jump in high speed law enforcement runs on Nebo. And when I say high speed, I'm not stretching it. There's been a bunch in the last week or so that had to be at, if not topping a 100 going by. That's usually at night. At night you can't tell the difference between PD, Sheriff and GSP so I'm not pointing fingers. During daylight its been mostly sheriff and going quick, but not as out there as at night. Anyway, it went from not really uncommon but still an event,

If the road is in it's final configuration and they turned on the signal and there is no left turn movement indicator physically attached to the signal system, there isn't one planned. Any new signal system must complete a "10 day burn" prior to being eligible for full payment. Add anything and you start 10 days over. Even if the road isn't in its permanent alignment, it all would usually go up at the same time and the indicator would remain bagged.

Went to the bar, I think, 3 or 4 or 6 times between ages 18 and 40 something. I say "I think" because there were lots of things back then that I don't really remember, could be more, probably is. The last time I was almost sober and for some reason there was more light in there than I ever remember seeing before. That's why it was the last time. ps: Don't get me wrong, I never remember having anything less than a full blown hoot there. But light is not its friend.

Couple of three things in that story that don't add up.

You can go get you a stick out of the yard, batter it, and fry it in lard. What you end up with is one tasty dang stick.
