I agree. From what I've been reading, the federal government may to asked to assist in rebuilding of the dunes, which have been destroyed. The protection afforded by the dunes were the main reason that all the houses on the island were not destroyed. I can't imagine that any homeowner on fire island was not insured by both homeowners and flood insurance.

I'm interested. Im just afraid of what it could cost.

Yes it is. It's a great place to hang out with family or friends. Me and a bunch of other folks would hate not to go there. No doubt, it's a dump but it's a good dump.

Fire island has a special family place in my heart. The good news is you had flood insurance if you have a home on fire island. More good news if you own a home on fire island you have enough money to make yourself whole. Life is a bitch sometimes. It's still sad.

We got that fancy Samsung front loader a few years back. I hate that thing. Hate. Hate. Hate! I wish I could blow it to smithereens! It doesn't clean the freaking clothes. It also keeps any hair in the clothes. Have I told you how much dog hair I live with? Next one will be a top loader with an agitator. AND it will have a feature that the wash water drains through a strainer during the wash cycle so that it catches any hair and stuff. Our first washer had that and it was great.

I would love to get one of these.....but I'm afraid it won't work so I haven't tried. I have area rugs and wood floors. Do you think it would work on those two surfaces. Sure would be nice to get a break from having to deal with the dog hair every single day!
