True, but I wasn't even thinking about those making buku bucks...thinking more about teachers, police, doctors...now lawyers on the other hand...

$40 Trillion is A LOT of money! I'd also fear the vacuum in leadership at companies, schools, and government if everyone over 50 up and left for Margaritaville...its an interesting thought though.

Where in CA were you? We need a move from CA support group here...

Was pouring in Hiram near Lake Ramona, just slowed to a "normal" rain.

Maybe, they're the tastiest burgers ever.
-
I don't think so. I've been to something like 40 states, and haven't had a burger like In-n-Out's. Everything is fresh and clean, and the only other "fast-food" restaurant that I've encountered with similar standards and hospitality has been Chick-fil-a.
-
I can't see In-n-Out Burger ever coming out this far. It doesn't fit their model of freshness, in other words, they'll have to be close to their distribution centers. They've only gone as far as Tucson, AZ and SW Utah, and haven't even made it to Oregon. However, if they build one here in the next 10 years, you've got a Double-Double on me.

EMT, 911 operator, police, fire, teachers...all of their pay is miserable. If I wanted to be a police officer, I'd have to take a huge pay cut from what I made in the previous year. Its depressing, really.

Hmmm, a weaning so to speak. Interesting idea, and if this was on the floor of Congress, it would be a good compromise. I like it.

I look at that website fairly often...does anyone ever leave P.C. government? Sheesh! They never have anything available that isn't the communications officer position.

Ok, good scenarios. Even if the parents agree that one will stay at home and raise the kids, and the relationship dissolves, I feel that people need to take responsibility for themselves and prepare themselves for all contingencies. Get an education, part time job, volunteer, etc. Divorce obviously impacts everyone, but one parent should not have to pay for their ex to continue their lifestyle through child support. There are millions of parents who would love the opportunity to be a stay-at-home parent, but that just isn't possible for everyone. What makes the parent working out of necessity

I'd KILL for a chocolate chip waffle, sausage, scrambled eggs, and hash browns right about now...

I was pushed just a bit too hard I think, so I despised it for a long time, but now I'm feeling that itch to perform myself. That's what happens when both parents were drama majors and a sister is an actress...I was a techie for much of my youth. Give me a sound board, amps, and mics, and I'm a happy guy. I even worked in Hollywood for a time before getting too disgusted with those yuppies.

That'd be great. My dad has been a musician performing onstage for 50 years, and recently sang and played guitar at an art gallery in L.A. I never appreciated it growing up, but now I'm trying to get him to record some songs for my daughter. I think that would be such a special thing for her.

I have never understood this at all. What does the earning ability have to do with anything? Say a person never married or had a kid. They would still have to find housing, eat, clothe, etc., and pay for all of these things. All of these things need to be done with a child as well, and if the expenses of a single child equates to $800 a month, shouldn't each parent be responsible for half? And what happens when that ex remarries? I know women still earn less on average than men, but women still work as hard as men and still earn decent wages. If we're talking about a standard of living prior t

Ok, will do. My weekends are pretty free now, so...I hope y'all get a show soon.

I've been craving some Dunkin Donuts coffee something fierce...I'm sad to admit I sat at the drive through for a few minutes before realizing that they were closed. Large coffee, cream and sugar...oh man.

I'm sure I could hear to your website to check it out, but when is your band playing again? I've been wanting to check y'all out for some time now.

I'm sure there will be plenty of opposition, but shouldn't child support, even if its sole custody, be half of everything? It takes two to make a child, right? I, for one, will never want my child to go without, but a half of parental unit should be responsible for half of the healthcare, education, food, scheduled expenses, lodging, etc. The parent with sole custody already needs to have a house, so in case of apartment living, shouldn't the shared housing expense be half of the cost of an extra room? Maybe its just my perspective, but it seems like there is double-dipping or profiteering in

Ok, I'm really biting my tongue here...but one question. So, if a father's success equates to more money to the mother for child support, does the mother's success lead to less child support from the father, assuming the mother maintains sole custody? How often does that happen compared to this situation?

Anyone interested in a cool fitness class?

I've been interested in getting back into martial arts. When I was a kid and teen, I did plenty of karate and aikido. I had some great senseis (spelling?), including Chris Casamassa (Scorpion) and Jason David Frank (Green Power Ranger), but alas, I was never very good. But, I enjoyed it, and maybe I'll be better this time around. -
Where do you do this class? Sounds interesting.

Using a calorie counter has been the only thing that has worked for me in the past. Drink a lot of water, at least 64oz a day. BUT, you have to have some kind of cardio. Just try to find something fun or find someone to partner with so you can push each other. I want to lose 30 lbs...I need to lay off the dollar value menu...
