  1. If Weld Co. Sheriffs have gotten reports that the kid fell...and the family lives in Ft. Collins (Larimer Co), that means he was in the air for at least a few miles. IF he was inside the balloon in the first place.
  2. I hope not, but every second that ticks by, the less likely we are to have a happy ending.
  3. Couple links... http://blogs.denverpost.com/husted/2009/03...ife-swap-again/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EBWJXXgaYBo
  4. This is the strangest news story ever. They were on "Wife Swap", I don't watch that show, but I remember my wife watching that episode.
  5. What was that? Did a fly land on my shoulder? I'm not sure...
  6. Well I understand getting the max on unemployment, but accepting a new position for minimum wage when making previously a solid living is beyond devastating. But, ya gotta go what ya gotta do, I suppose.
  7. That is insane. I think you win...or lose. Whatever. So, he was making close to $70K a year and is now at minimum wage? Yikes. Yikesyikesyikes. Good luck!
  8. I've considered checking out Carrollton, especially since I'm looking at WGU for the spring term. Cobb DOL, on Big Shanty Rd, is actually the closest one from Hiram, and tends to have higher paying jobs. Higher paying jobs in the city also means fighting traffic, which means I'll accept considerably less to work in Paulding. Lordy, I wish there were good jobs in this county!!! I did get an email today from the IRS saying I was a Category A candidate for a position I applied for. From what I understand, that's good. We'll see where that goes. I think you're partially co
  9. Just razzing ya, you big lug. You started it, btw.
  10. You wouldn't want to hire him anyway, because he'd jump ship as soon as he got another offer that would be a few dollars more, most likely hurting your company in the long run.
  11. No, I don't have a job. The job that was available was by referral only, and there is no guarantees that I'd be hired anyway. And while I understand the sentiment, taking a huge step back like that will impede career progression. I've worked in HR, and red flags fly when you review a resume of a person who has managerial or departmental leadership in past jobs but their most recent employment was flipping burgers (just an example, I love burgers therefore I love the burger flipper). I know this job market will change the way HR departments handle their hiring processes, but I'm going to stick
  12. Wow, the Department of Labor was packed today. I know this isn't a newsflash, but there are a lot of people suffering. The only position that was possible today would have been a 66% paycut from 2008. I'm desperate, but not at that level yet. However, I'm regretting ever leaving the military. I would rather do an overseas tour again than have to go through this. Any idea why Paulding's DOL office is in Cartersville? The majority of Paulding's population base lies closer to Cobb rather than Bartow, and the majority of working residents work out in Cobb/Fulton and beyond anyway. Just seems
  13. No, but he did have a funny look on his face.
  14. He's just doing some kind of social experiment on us...to see how long we'll wait for his response. On lighter news, my kitten just farted.
  15. Didn't even crack a grin? You're a tough nut to crack...gotta step up my game a bit. NSFW... Two women friends had gone out for a Girls Night Out, and had been decidedly over-enthusiastic on the cocktails. Incredibly drunk and walking home they suddenly realized they both needed to pee. They were very near a graveyard and one of them suggested they do their business behind a headstone or something. The first woman had nothing to wipe with so she took off her panties, used them and threw them away. Her friend however was wearing an expensive underwear set and didn't want to ruin hers
  16. I cackled a little while watching that. Gutter mind.
  17. Does everything you say or do now end up in Paulding Place? Here's a joke for you: There was this guy at a bar, just looking at his drink. He stays like that for half of an hour. Then, this big trouble-making truck driver steps next to him, takes the drink from the guy, and just drinks it all down. The poor man starts crying. The truck driver says, "Come on man, I was just joking. Here, I'll buy you another drink. I just can't stand to see a man cry." "No, it's not that. This day is the worst of my life. First, I fall asleep, and I go late to my office. My boss, outraged,
  18. I've lived here for a few years now, and have seen the museums, ballparks, battlefields, etc. in Atlanta and surrounding areas. Can you recommend anything to do west and north of Paulding? Hiking, historical, camping, anything of the like? Been up to Rome and Chattanooga a couple of times, nice places. I've heard Cloudland Canyon is great...what else? Is there anything else?
  19. I'll definitely spend more on my next marriage. LOL.
  20. Yeah, you're right. Winslow isn't the best example of a town in AZ. In 2000, I almost moved to Tempe to go to Arizona State. Downtown Tempe is one of my favorite "metro" areas in the nation. Of course, my team plays there in the spring . Flagstaff is great, Kingman is cool, Scottsdale is posh, Tucson is rocking...I just love AZ. I had Davis-Monthan AFB (Tucson) and Luke AFB (west of Phoenix) on my preferred assignments list when I was in the USAF, alas, it just wasn't meant to be. One of these days...
  21. Cohran Store Rd? If so, it runs between Ridge and Baker Bridge. I think it changes over to Senator Rd somewhere in between.
  22. Went through there about a month ago. I would love to live in Prescott or Flagstaff, and occasionally look for jobs out that way. No jobs there, no jobs here, so I guess I'm not wasting my time too much. Oh yeah, I also stood on a corner in Winslow, AZ. Check another item off the bucket list!
  23. Yeah, mine was the same. Marriage certificate, small ceremony officiated by a friend, and off to the Indian Casino! 6 days later, I had a training instructor in my face.
