  1. Only one I'm aware of is salary.com. Title clerk translates to accounting clerk, and the mean for Rome is about 27-28K annually. If she has a lot of experience, I'd ask for closer to $35K.
  2. I understand your sentiment that this has been a long and frustrating process, but the county finally taking the steps to improve its economic standing now and in the future. After all, this is a county that once turned away business and allowed huge population growth without the infrastructure, both commercially and in transportation, to be successful. Patience isn't easy, but they are on the right path to improvement. How much improvement remains to be seen, but at least they are going in the right direction.
  3. Sure, PUJ has the rights now for the air space, but the FAA can reevaluate its priorities if necessary. "The Administrator [FAA} may modify or revoke an assignment when required in the public interest." http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/uscode49...03----000-.html As for where the 10000 acres are, I'd assume its somewhere near the current airport, but I could be wrong. I'd love to see a map, if anyone has it.
  4. Wow. Do you think I could pass for a long lost member of their families?
  5. I've been getting them. Hasn't affected me, but still good to know.
  6. Excellent points. As much as it is hoped that new construction for housing can impact the economy, we need first to 1) improve the infrastructure of the county as our roads can't handle to current traffic flow with the current population and 2) give existing home owners a chance to be competitive in the housing market. I, like many others, would love to be able to sell our homes, but can't expect to even break even due to the number of foreclosures, available new housing, and huge drop in the values of our homes. I want the airport to be successful, and I hope more jobs make their way int
  7. The FAA has also stated the Atlanta will need a second major airport in the next 20-30 years. Combined with the cheap cost of land for Atlanta (in Paulding, purchased in '75) compared to what it would cost today, is a large airport in Paulding inevitable? Sorry for resurrecting an old post, but my post tonight was going to be along the same lines anyhow.
  8. PM me. You can have what I got...all of it...if you pick it up. I just don't want it in my yard anymore, and we don't use the fireplace enough to make it worthwhile. The majority of the wood is great for burning, some was cut last year and may not be what you are looking for. Lemme know! *BTW, we live by Waters Rd, between Nebo and Ridge.
  9. The $9 payment is nice. Now what is the REAL price?
  10. My little princess and I had fun. Its always nice to have a 'daddy-daughter date'.
  11. Everyone I've talked to so far has come up with right around the same price. At least I get 5% off for vet discount, so we're looking at bit above $6K. I'm going with a PCOM member, Ragsdale Heating & Air. They've been completely honest and up front...if any commerce member wants to see if they can beat the price for the exact same equipment and install, that would be fine, but I'd be hard pressed to change from Ragsdale.
  12. Going to cost nearly 7K to replace the system. I hate everyone who told me growing up that it is better to be a homeowner. Especially when you're flat broke.
  13. 13.5/14 points. I tend to burn food rather than cook it, but every once in a while it comes out right.
  14. Thanks for your input. NIMBY means "Not In My Back Yard", as in yes, it would be great to have less congestion, but don't widen the streets in my neighborhood.
  15. I've heard of this battle, but I'm not completely up to speed on the topic. Is this a NIMBY issue? Whitlock is pretty and an old neighborhood, are these the only reason for the fight? I'm not saying the widening Whitlock is the answer, but taking the EWC as the primary route to Cobb Co. is definitely not. I wish the knuckleheads who "planned" this area had a little more foresight, but then again, who would have expected Paulding to grow so much.
  16. Couldn't agree more. Seems like the only option for bike riding is the SCT, everything else is simply too dangerous. My wife hates the fact that there aren't sidewalks in our subdivision. Our next home will be in a sidewalked subdivision, or I'll be the one paying for it, literally.
  17. I voted for him over the President, the military, and Jesus. Frankie says relax.
  18. Ok, I've read the county provided info on the airport, but what do you really see as the best case scenario for KPUJ? Will the county get an economic boost? Why or why not? Whats the worst case scenario? Drag strip?
  19. Again, thanks to all for their replies. This is good stuff! So far we're over 70% of all commutes stretching beyond a half hour one way, and 28% of commuters travel more than two hours each day in total travel time. Over a 100 votes! THANK YOU!
  20. He needs to drive away in something...otherwise it would be like the end of the Incredible Hulk, you know, the lonely man song....
  21. He's keeping his cat, but its a novel idea. I would do the same, but I'd beat his price by 15%! We could have a bidding war on our lives!
  22. Thanks to all for your votes and responses. It is a shame that so many have to travel so far when there has been so little done to improve their conditions. Long commutes are literally dangerous. It means 1) health issues due to not getting enough sleep 2) health issues due to lack of physical activity due to simply not enough time 3) more stress 4) your family is missing out on your presence and 5) fatigued drivers are impaired drivers. Imagine that you are working over an hour away, and you find a job that is 'down the street' here in Paulding. I know its stating the obvious, but you'
  23. Thanks much! I'm trying to present some very outlandish ideas, but as long as I can fill 15-20 pages, I'll maneuver a decent grade...I hope.
