  1. When my DD was a baby, the vacuum cleaner was my very best friend. If I had a hard time getting her to sleep, I would vacuum and she would dose right off and not wake while I cleaned. Now if she went to sleep before I vacuumed, then I had to wait since it would wake her. Go figure. It was the steady constant sound of the vacuum that helped her sleep. My DS on the other hand was a breeze, slept through the night after the first month. I have to admit though, if it wasn't for my DH neither of our kids would have gotten on a sleep schedule, he just made it happen and did so with ease. Go Blue, ju
  2. You can always take a sample in, see what's going on with the water and go from there. If you decide to buy chemicals they will work to clear up the problem then you can sort out the rest using the above website. It will certainly save you a ton of money doing the way the website suggests.
  3. Take a sample of your pool water to Browns or another pool store for a test. They can tell you what you need to put in it and how often.
  4. All of that and don't turn any lights on when and if you get up, that will automatically trigger your body to wake up.
  5. Mark, last year the tub bearing went out on mine and it was a bear to get out. Pate's came out and fixed it,but even the repair guy had a rough time, he had my washer tub in my yard trying to bang it loose. So I handed him some WD40, it works on everything.
  6. I am so sorry for your loss and for all you have been through this year. It's never easy to lose a loved one, especially so quickly. Many of us have been there and can relate, myself included. My mother was diagnosed with cancer and passed within a couple of weeks and in 2007 my Dad passed from it in four. The only thing I can really say that I hope will ease some of your grief, is that she didn't suffer long with the horrid disease. Expressions of sympathy are never enough to end the grief, but the knowledge of having so many friends, family and even strangers, like us here on P.com, will in
  7. I'll have to give this place a try, it's much closer than Farmer John's, seeing as how I live off Ridge Rd. Thanks for the info.
  8. I would like to see a place that is centrally located in the county where people can go to gather outdoors. Something along the lines of Marietta Square, but with a large outdoor fire pit/place for cool weather, plenty of shade trees, tables and chairs with umbrellas and maybe a play area for children. Some place similar to the outdoor areas at restaurants but on a larger scale with gathering zones. Restaurants, coffee shops, ice cream parlors, and those type places. Yes, it would require a huge chunk of land and a boat load of money, but who knows, maybe I will win the Mega millions one day a
  9. I just bought some from the produce stand at 92 and Dallas Hwy, it's opposite Dallas Hwy from Stars and Strikes. Personally, I don't eat tomatoes, but DH and DS said they were quite good. I think I paid $4 for them and I believe there were 6 or 7 in the container.
  10. If I was literally knee deep in pickles, I would surely ruin my perfectly done pedicure. I know better then that, so I'm gonna get DH to it. Gonna make bread and butter pickles and kosher dill. The B&B I've done before but I've never made Kosher. Hopefully they will be good and everyone that eats will be honest with me since I don't even eat them.
  11. Congratulations!!!! Like everyone else has said, it's not as bad as it seems. One of my niece's has six kids, the oldest ones are almost 15 yo and are quadruplet's, then 12 yo and a 9 yo. She is my hero, I never could have done THAT, but with some organization and patience, she has six wonderful and well behaved children. You can do it and if you ever need help, there are always family and friends to help you out sometimes.
  12. Go to their website and see if you can get a sample.
  13. Oh lawd, I didn't even realize how that sounded.
  14. I just got back with a crate of pickling cucumbers and some tomatoes from Farmer Johns. Soon, I will be knee deep in homemade pickles.
  15. No craziness here, unless you consider the neighbor who was mowing his lawn just after 6:00 this morning. But hey, at least he mows his lawn, it could be worse.
  16. I live off Ridge Rd and I do most of my shopping in Hiram. Once in while, say once a month, I go to Douglasville, but it's usually Lowes or the mall.
  17. We use Sprint, Verizon and AT&T and all has been fine, until the past month. I use Sprint and when I would make a call to one of my friends, and this only happened when I called her, the signal was "choppy". This past week, however, it has cleared up and no more issues at all. We are in South Paulding, Ridge Rd area.

    Kirby died

I like Kirby vacuum on Veterans Memorial, they seem like nice and honest people and I have never had a problem with them. My Kirby is no longer under warranty, so I take it to them. The Kirby authorized dealer on Thornton Rd creeps me out, they seem very unprofessional, I used to get my bags from them.

    WTH?

I wonder if they do this over and over if they will get stretch marks on their heads? That would be funny.

    Wicked

I hope it is good, some friends and I are planning a girls trip to New York Labor Day weekend and we are hoping to see Wicked. This will be my first trip to the big apple and first Broadway show. As far as it coming to The Fox, I had no idea it would be here. I have been trying to read my copy of the book, but it is so dang hard to follow.
  21. I just called the number and it is no longer in service. Guess I will just drive up there to see if they have green peanuts, DH wants to make some boiled peanuts. Thanks hotdoggirl for the reminder, I almost forgot.
  22. I won't eat lamb or veal because it tastes nasty to me. Lamb tastes like dirty hair smells and it absolutely grosses me out.
  23. I try to vote every day and on different computers, but it will not let me vote again. I did use my DD's FB account to vote. I'm sorry Blondie, I keep trying but to no avail.
  24. Yes, there are some very good schools nearby. My family goes to the one next to Benson's BBQ. Grandmaster Lee is the owner and is AWESOME!!!
