  1. I think you have to report it to the post office first...and accidents end in write ups and can end up with you being fired. You can have an incident completly outside of working for the post office and it can still make you loose your job. They have fired subs over minor accidents like this before (which is crazy because they made them go work in the ice) That could have been another reason why cops weren't on scene at the time.
  2. When I worked with Old Navy...we had the same 3 people that came in over and over with fake/bad checks. They would buy 300-400 bucks at a time...the best we could hope for that the check wouldn't go through. We weren't allowed to do anything else except try and remember thier info from memory to turn into loss prevention.
  3. If it is still the person from the orginal story then she drove for hiram.
  4. I have a degree in Criminal Justice and work in medical billing. I have friends who have education, communication, chem degrees....I don't know of one person who works in the field they got thier degree in. Honestly I think anyone who graduted 2003(like us..HS that is) isn't using thier degree. Its important to have it because you dedicated yourself to it for 4-5 years and maybe one day it can give you a pay bump. Otherwise...there really isn't a point to even looking in your field. I take that back...one person is using her degree. She has a minor in spanish and german. She landed a
  5. I made a new patient app with him. I do have a few things bothering me, but is he the type of doc that you can just go ahead and give him a full run down? I've been going to urgent care places for the last 10 years so I'm not quite sure how this goes.
  6. I got a referal for two doctors from an urgent care. One is Dr Esslinger in Cartersville and the other is Dr Miles in Dallas. Anyone got any opinions? I've never had a PCP before and I would need someone that was able to treat chronic symptoms and possible anxiety (the two aren't realted). Thanks.
  7. lol, yep. They house all the little doo-dads that tell what weather is going on in dallas.
  8. Drive by the house everyday on the way home. He does seem to have constant company now but I do get a glimpse of him now and then.
  9. We live on Ridge too. There are plans that were approved to turn ridge into a four lane with a median. We were hoping it would actually get done because they would have to buy our house and land. When the county put down property stakes when they put in the larger water pipes one or two summers ago we found out that the easement is literally three steps from our front door. Even though the plans had been approved, the DOT hasn't discussed it in a few years. That is what I remember atleast...memory is kinda fuzzy on it. I had a thread on it way back when if you care to search.
  10. GT was talking about the widening of Ridge Rd being shelved...not the light they will be putting at 61 and Ridge.
  11. Thats what we had thought, just wanted to double checked. I guess its back to fixing the house and putting in shrubs to try and protect us. We actually had someone come off the road and run into the middle of one of our shrubs. That shrub sat directly against the house. Good times.
  12. Anymor info on Ridge being widened? We haven't heard anything for about a year and it wasn't mentioned in the powerpoint thing you posted a link to the other day.
  13. Thanks I really couldn't find a direct link to something like this when I looked. And I was always under the impression you could change your name because you wanted too. When I started researching alot of the sites said you had to explain to the judge why and it would be up to them to decide.
  14. I'm looking into getting my last name changed in the upcoming year. It will be my partners last name, but obviously I won't have a marriage certificate. I've been doing some searching but I haven't found much info for people who haven't gotten married. Any help? As a side note...if a gay couple gets married in a state that allows it..then comes to GA...would that marriage certificate qualify as documentation to change it?
  15. We already spend over a grand a month in postage at the medical billing place I work.
  16. They had private contractors on some of the routes..it didn't work well. Plus..they don't go through the testing or background checks that people in the post office go through. I agree with the higher ups taking a pay cut. The post master himself (john Potter) has had his salary increase every year. He makes above 200,00 I believe. I can even agree with no saturday mail although it will hurt some businesses. Most of the postal carriers I know are willing to take a pay cut so they don't loose thier jobs and the customer service isn't lost. They've been offering early retirement packages. If
  17. Q100 read an article from the AJC. They do have different events scheduled from College Park to Roswell to try and help traffic. They made a good point, it really is going to depend on how much advertising they did outside of Atlanta.
  18. I wish they could follow with the plans to expand Ridge Rd....buying our land and house would be perfect. But..traffic light should be what they are doing now.
  19. I have enjoyed reading the comments people left. And I don't think facebook is evil or anything for doing it...it just caught me off guard. I'm a very reserved person so I haven't displayed alot of emotion(heh...yea should of heard what things people said to me at the funeral)...I dunno I saw it and couldn't help but cry. I was at work so I had to go hide in the bathroom for a little bit. I was never close or good friends with my sister...not like people think I was. So that is just another problem...that and I feel like I have to change myself into this person my parents need..not the ac
  20. I've worked in two places where I received tips. I worked at Subway for 2 weeks..I was only paid 5.45. Our lunch started at 11..ended at 2 and the line rarely wasn't out the door. I worked up a huge sweat and appreciated the tips people left ALOT. Petsitting I occasionaly get tips which is also really appreciated. It goes directly to the sitter doing the job and sometimes the tip was the difference in me affording a bill that week. But otherwise I don't tip unless they waited on me, or worked on me(hair and tattoos).
  21. You know how on the right hand side of the screen Facebook lists friends you should reconnect with or people they think you should friend because you have mutual friends? Yeah....it just told me to reconnect with my sister. She has been dead for one month and 3 days. Take a guess as to how the rest of my day is gonna go.
  22. We had several witnesses actually call my parents. I'm very thankful to them and it took alot of guts to call them, so yes we did get our questions answered. Currently, my sister's car is being investigated. There was a recall on the steering before her wreck happened.
  23. I've applied for one or two when they used to show up, but I never got a response.
  24. I haven't given the private security much thought..thank you for reminding me about that.
  25. The thing is...I don't want to be a police officer. I have no interest in being in those type of situations, and I really don't like people enough to interact like that every day. I did retail for 7 years, and it took every ounce of patience and social skill I had. I know at my current job I've proven myself, i've already had two raises(even though we are paid low for what we do), and I know the business is secure. I'm between picking my dream/goal and knowing that I have security and a solid steady income. I don't know if any of my friends who got 4 year degrees actually work in thier field e
