  1. I don't know if they are accepting anymore applications...we've been receiving 20 or more a day. When I graduated no jobs were available besides police officers which I do not have an interest in. I really want to be an animal control office/investigator. I interned at the Marshals and enjoyed that. They wanted to hire me...but I couldn't pass the physical test. I don't have the upper body strength to do the push ups.
  2. I've been thinking if those years I spent in college were the best use of my time. I have a degree in criminal justice, I work in medical billing and pet sit. The company I work for is taking resumes. They immediantly disregard anyone who has expierence or a degree/certificate in medical billing. They want someone they can train to work thier way..they don't want to spend any time breaking other habits. What do you guys think? I'm glad I have a degree because not many people in my family made it thru college...but I wonder if it is really as helpful as we expect it to be.
  3. Kind of off topic but does anyone know what happened to that band of people on a few years ago that were stealing mail out of boxes? Maybe that would be an indicator as to how she might be punished.
  4. I also was told it was the Hiram post office. I've never heard of a company giving protection for a year because an employee was stealing identitys. What about that mexican restaurant where people had thier credit cards stolen...that restaurant didn't agree to cover any of the charges did they? And I would think that she would be charged with a felony for tampering with the mail in order to get the info.
  5. I saw an article on AOL today about 3 students commiting suicide at Cornell within one month of each other. It has to do with the gorges there. I went to KSU for four years, I was only frightened when I'd be leaving at 8 or 9 in the evening. I hope no matter what the cause of death is that the family will alteast have answers.
  6. Thank you everyone..and a special thanks to the people that stopped and pulled her out of her car and tried to help. My parents really appreciated the phone call they got this evening. One of the people that helped my sister called them and gave them details about the accident and what was done. I really appreciate it too. It is very nice to hear how many people enjoyed seeing her while she was working.
  7. This is her for those that went to her office
  8. Just in case anyone needs the info her viewing will be 6-9pm sat and her funeral will be 3pm on Sunday. She will be cremated so we won't be going anywhere after the funeral. Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home 2950 N Cobb Parkway Kennesaw, GA 30152
  9. She graduated from Harrison in 1999 I believe.
  10. Thank you again. I'm sure noone is to blame. I read the topic that was linked earlier. I guess I'm just wondering what made her swerve off the road, or what type of impact she had to cause her fatal injuries. My parents are currently making arrangments...I worry for them..and the toll on the people that work these type of accidents. Thank you again
  11. Thank you. I know my family will pull through...even if it takes awhile. If you could, please pray for the cops and emergency workers that were there. She died instantly, so I know finding her would of been hard on them.
  12. Does anyone have any details about how the wreck on 92 and wordlore happened? I believe this is to be the one my sister was involved in. She died in the accident and drove a white chevy cobalt. Based on the threads I've searched this morning, this sounds like her accident. My parents did not tell me where the accident happened, I'm not even sure they know. The police had to hunt them down last night since my sister does not live with them. Since I have a lack of info right now..I'm just looking for anything.
  13. American Fitness on Ridge? It might be American BodyWorks...not sure.
  14. Anyone else notice that there only had 19 people attending on the countdown timer?
  15. This is rams housemate: I keep hearing people in favor of contracting out mail delivery. The post office has put this idea into effect on a trial basis. The issue with contracting drivers is that 1) they are not required to have extensive background checks, testing, etc. therefore, who knows what type of person is delivering unemployment checks, disability payments, DFACS checks, meds, etc. 2) delivering mail is more than just getting behind a car and throwing mail in a box. Postal workers spend several hours every morning sorting their routes mail into delivery order. Contracting business o
  16. The only antibitic that doesn't make me sick is Levaquin...it cost me over 100 bucks for 5 pills. I always thought that it was funny that pain medication would be like 15 bucks without insurance but the antibiotics that people really needed would be 100 bucks.
  17. The thing about taking off all of those drug commercials is that sometimes patients need to bring up that they want to be on a new drug. My friend's family doctor is VERY old school. To the point that he would rather prescribe an antiinflammatory for 20 years until it shuts the person's kidneys down instead of narcotics or anything newer that is brought up. Even the depression meds he prescribes people haven't used in large numbers for atleast 10 years. My friend has severe back issues, and wants to see a specialist. Her doctor has refused to give her a refferal but he won't treat her back bes
  18. As I read everyone's ideas for what they think should happen....Do you have any idea how many jobs would be lost? My SO is a mail carrier...so this is something I really worry about. The post office employees the most people out of all the government agencies. Yes I do realize that they need to cut costs so they have less debt...but going to a 3 day work week could hurt the economy in the long run. That is a whole lot of people that would loose their jobs and possibly end up on unemployment. Mainly place like UPS and Fedex that mail carriers would be better accustomed to work for aren't hiring
  19. Cutting saturday delivery would save money becuase any subs would be cut. The regular fulltime carriers would be all they needed except a few to cover sick days. They are also trying to bring in more sorting machines so they can get rid of more clerks. And they had private contractors running routes. The reason why you DON'T want this is because they can't be held accountable for anything. If they screw up your mail or don't deliver a package then you cant go to the post office to complain or fix it. The contractors don't care and won't do anything about it.
  20. Yea..my friend had decided to randomly do some shopping after school. Got home and the entire house was filled with smoke. He had shut himself in the downstairs garage and turned on his car(a chevelle) and laid down. It took days and many fans to try and get the smell out. He had mental issues and aspergers..they had been treating both for years. So when it happened I wasn't all that surprised..but in this instance...I never saw any indication. Granted since the family is a client its not like we had a very personal relationship or that I saw them a lot but from my experience they are a close
  21. As sad as it is...at least his family didn't have to be the ones to find him. My friend in highschool had to that with her older brother.
  22. Depression can make you do alot of things. Its not an excuse but it can completely change your logic.
  23. I've seen more in general ever since the super speeder laws went into effect. Maybe they assigned more traffic detail across the board because of it.
  24. Yes- out of respect for them I don't want to get to detailed about ages and what not. But yes, there are children.
  25. Indeed, the family is a long term client of mine. I hope they can pull through this.
