Do you get these at any special store? Exterminator? Where? Please help.
  2. Apparently I'm getting a bad rep. today.
  3. I am so glad I was not drinking something just then. My computer would be a mess. Thanks for the cackle(sp?)!!!
  4. In October she will be working on the SNL set. I think this will be a great show. She is willing to go out on a ledge. I think the skits will be 'out there'.
  5. I'm just going to type one more thing, and I will be done with this. Children do speak what they hear, I know this, I work with elementary school children ALL the time, I corrected her. She DID NOT hear from me that smokers were bad people, but she had perceived this into her little eight year old brain. I rewired her brain to understand that they were not bad people, they had and were making a bad choice. I have spoke with and sat in on DARE program classes and this is what the program teaches. Your choices today, tomorrow, and 10 years down the road can/will/could have consequences [addi

Me too. I clean and clean and clean. I think one of the things is the heat. Are your's teeny tiny?
  7. Do you know me? NO. So how could you doubt that I would correct her. It is my job as a parent to correct my child. She had it in her mind (at the age of eight), that smokers were bad people. Smokers aren't bad people or parents. And as far as it being an addiction, I know that. But to start, you had to at one point make that choice, right? CHOICES, CHOICES, CHOICES!!!!
  8. What did I judge? I never said anyone was a bad parent. I hope one day she doesn't smoke. She does know I once smoked, but she knows I quit and haven't smoked in 15 years. A couple of years ago she would tell me when she saw someone lighting a cigarette or smoking they were a bad person. I QUICKLY corrected her and told her, "they are not a bad person. You don't know them. They are not making a good choice (and this is based on the DARE program---all about choices), but smoking doesn't make you a bad person." That is logic, not judgement.
  9. Kids were having sex at 12 and 13 when I was a kid. I didn't. I knew better. I started smoking at 13, but quit a two months before I found out I was pregnant. I was 22. I haven't touched a cigarette since.
  10. FYI: This is elementary school. I was typing of k-4. I wouldn't be suprised of a few 5th graders smoking, but k-3rd, I can't see it. I didn't mention what grades I taught, you just assumed it was older kids.
  11. I have worked book fairs and when children give me money, you can smell the smoke. It rubs off on your hands. When I teach, you know what kids live with smokers, because not only do they smell but their bookbags, FOLDER & papers all reek of cigarette smoke. I know my kid wouldn't want to sit next to a kid that smells of smoke, and she is 11. When we are in the car and someone in front of us is smoking and it comes under my hood and through my ventilation, she immediately asks who is smoking. She is completely repulsed by the smell of cigarettes. You would think parents could wai
  12. Yes. I believe it is a Dodge. I came through there before the paramedics. I had to pull over going West on 381 to let the two officers come by. The person in the burgundy van was needing treatment. I hope everyone was okay. A lot of people had stopped to help. Someone even went over to Starbucks to get water for everyone involved. It so nice to see people come together and get involved. I think I counted 3 cars that were not involved sitting on the side of the road.
  13. Me either. I won the carpet cleaning. Going to get my certificate today.
  14. Can you get a BubbleBee Bakery gift certificate for Puppy Love Bingo? PLEEEEEEAAAAASSSSSEEEE!!!!!!
  15. My 8th grader now, probably 3rd then, and I were stopped at a stop light. The light turned green and the car in front of us took off like you wouldn't believe. Well, I said, "You go now." My daughter asked me why I said that and I replied, well they had a wheelchair tag on their car and I have noticed cars with these tags usually don't drive so fast. She replied, "Well maybe they were using their good leg." (There was a girl in her class at the time in a wheelchair, because she had sprang her ankle) I didn't know how to react, but for some reason I busted out laughing.
  16. Are you being told what your child is getting in trouble for? Just keep in the back of your mind, but give it some time. Like the others said, a new life with new rules, she/he is probably just having to adjust. Good luck
  17. Mine was a '87 Pontiac Grand Am SE. It was loaded. It was actually bought for my sister to go to college in '87, but changed her mind. Two years later she wanted a Mustang LX w/ a 5.0 (that was the first year they came out), so my dad gave me her graduation present. I still to this day have dreams about that car.
  18. Good morning. Hope everyones' day goes great and a lot gets accomplished for you!!
  19. Try Kraftfoods.com or start at kraft.com Publix might have something too. You can also go on the Publix.com and get their Apron recipes. I use that all the time.
  20. Aren't their kids suppose to be going to some high $ school? Someone needs to be checking this vacation schedule compared to the school calendar. What kind of example would that be setting letting your kids skip school to go on extravagant vacations the taxpayers are paying for. Well, I guess if you think about it, all politicians' vacations are paid for by taxpayers at some point. They always find some way to write it off. If they can't, they just go to session and vote themselves a raise, in which who in the long run pays their increases in salaries? US!!!
  21. I won carpet cleaning!!! 1500 sq. ft. That is exactly the sq. ft. of my upstairs!!
  22. Very glad to hear you and your family are ok. The same thing happened to some friends of ours last week, but they were not so lucky. Their house was struck on Monday evening and the house started burning Tues. morning. They lost a little over 60% of their house, but everyone was okay. Wife and two kids were in the house asleep when family across the street saw the house on fire, ran over and woke them up to get them out.
