8-Year-Old Killed by School Bus Cartersville police say 8-year-old Garrett Black was hit by a bus and killed around 4 p.m. at the city schools bus barn. The student, whose mother works at the facility, was dropped off by a bus when a second bus struck him. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Hiram Resident Killed in Early Morning Crash Georgia State Patrol officials say 22-year-old Ester Kim was killed in the two-vehicle crash that occurred about 6:35 a.m. on Georgia 61, one mile north of Windmill Drive. Yes, the roads were dangerous. Yes, the County may done a better job. Yes, it's tragic that a girl died. But when it's reported by the News to "drive only when/if necessary" and you still drive, esp a young, inexperienced teenage driver, then why should you be let off just b/c you will have to live with that guilt for the rest of your life? The parents *did* allow those kids to go out driving in unsafe conditions. Nobody forced these girls to go out for a drive.

I used to think it Paulding was a great place to live, but after reading all of this rhetoric - Commissioners stealing (or allowing builders to steal) people's property, houses/properties being condemned due to builders not getting the proper permits 20-years ago (before the laws were really in place to enforce such things), misappropriation of funds... And when I google, P.Com pops up with lots of negative stories - SP's story, evil principals at a certain HS, schools not making AYP...

I have always supported "in-house" vs. "out-sourcing" services, esp with attorney fees.

While some of these suggestions are extremely YUMMY, since it's being hosted by a church, please keep cost in mind of hosting the dinner. If they are working for a profit, they can either totally jack up the prices to off-set the cost of the more elaborate meals or host an inexpensive meal for a reasonable price and not cut into their profit margin.
