  1. I have personally been negatively impacted by Delta's monopoly of the airline industry and that is all I am going to say on the matter. Atlanta is not the only city that they have done this in. Really! the nerve of the mayor of Atlanta and the CEO of Delta to tell a neighboring community what they can and can not do. There are counties in this state bordering on almost 50% unemployment. Those counties would change places with us in a heart beat and welcome the airport with open arms. If not for living so close to Atlanta we would be thrilled with this. We forget just how bad it was with ou

The cost of groceries has gone through the ceiling. We eat a lot of fresh food, meat and veggies. We basically do the stay out of the aisles type of shopping. Our grocery bill for 3 people is very high. There was a time that when food got very high people would cut those foods until they could afford them. I can tell you that the way I shop would be out of reach for a majority especially if they have large families. I think foodstamps has changed this. You take a look at everything the government has stepped into and you will see the cost steadily going up to the point that th

I took care of a family of 6 for Thanksgiving and Christmas one year who had a better house and furniture than I did. She had worked hard her whole life to acquire those things. Her kids were doing odd jobs in the neighborhood to earn money. Her 18 year old cried like a baby when he saw the gifts for his brothers and sisters. We don't want folks to lose everything making it harder or impossible for them to get back up. Most people that have been on the system for years don't have those things. Yeah you have some that steal them and sell drugs, preying on each other. Welfare don't
  4. We all know that drugs and alcohol are at the bottom of it and maybe a women Damaged goods, probably got some kids too that they are damaging, it is never going to end. I keep telling yall how we can stop this nonsense with this generation.
  5. Thank you for posting that. Many times hospitals make the decision to save the lives of these people. How do they stay in business. At the end of the year they come to us the hard working people that pay for our insurance and our taxes. The go to the county, the state, and the Fed. They say if you want us to keep our doors open, we need a check for this much. You also have hard working families that try to cover these medical expenses that end up bankrupt and living with assistance. :nea:
  6. Prayers for the victim and his family.
  7. I have been doing some research. People are claiming to be cured of cancer by cannabis oil. My understanding is they try to produce this with as little THC as possible. The object is not to become high but to cure the cancer. I know that many are already secretly using it for control of seizures and pain. I know folks like it for recreational use also. When it is legalized we are going to learn a lot about medicinal uses. I know many would like it legalized to control the purity of it especially when using it medicinally. I am still not a fan of it for recreational use for my own rea
  8. Not even close, getting the lid back on this can of worms is going to be near impossible. Faith and trust is totally gone. All that is left is desperation. There are a lot of sick people out there that hoped they could get care. There were those that thought they would go to that website, find affordable plans and get relief for painful conditions. I don't understand why they could not wait until it was right, many projects aren't completed on time, the world does not come to an end. Obviously there was no plan B. What they have cooked up is not going to work in this country.
  9. First of all with socialized medicine the government owns the hospitals, not going to happen here. I know that you and many others want to believe that you will always be able to afford insurance or health care. I have seen enough to know that is not true. I have seen too many people lose everything including their insurance when they become very sick. I want to see healthcare remain private also. I believe there is enough money when every many women and child pays in every single month, without fail. The sticking point is that money can not go through a third party, not insurance or the
  10. Thanks for the article it gives me hope for future generations!
  11. You base your beliefs on the idea that healthcare is so expensive that we simply have to force a percentage of the population out like they do in 3rd world countries. It simply is not true. Out system of claims is just plain stupid. We are dealing with almost have of the population rejecting a product because it was inferior. The answer is to force people to purchase and inferior product. People that are receiving supplements for their insurance are in fact funneling our tax dollars into these companies. It's not going to work just that simple it won't work. Most people have no longer hav
  12. We had a conversation last week about the research out there that could lower our dependance on fossil fuels for energy. Here is an article about some of the new research. How long before this goes to market? What about never? The question is do we want to see these types of things manufactured? I noticed that Warren Buffet just bought Exxon. Do you think Mr.Buffet would like to see this come to market and power automobiles in the future? The technology is not there yet, there are a lot of researchers working towards this and a lot of articles on these new discoveries. The investors aren

I need to look into this for my son. Is it only for disabled or does it include medically needy. When we tried to get coverage for my son we were flatly turned down, no amount of money would buy him a policy. I ask Peachcare if they had a program that would allow us to pay a premium. Nope you had to be broke to get peachcare. If this has changed I would like to look at it to keep him covered through college. His issues are complicated, he sees a geneticist twice a year and is on meds that aren't considered prescription so regular insurance won't cover them. They are very expensive. We
  14. We have seen massive layoffs over the last 10 years. I don't like it, but this is much needed change. We will see an end to medical bankruptcy. When rates do finally go down we will see that money going into the economy. Service jobs have taken a huge hit the last 10 years, we may see that come back and provide jobs. I have thought about the aspect of the unemployment, as far as I am concerned it simply can not be helped. There are no excuses that are good enough to stop the changing of our health system. It is not the lack of insurance for people that bothers me, it is the lack of healt
  15. I have had them for years. What I like about it is it is no surprise insurance. I went last week. I paid my 30 copay. The doctor wanted some labs and an xray. I didn't have to pay a penny over my co-pay. Sometimes you have a long wait to get in with a specialist like the dermatologist. They are putting a lot of money back into their facilities like the urgent care facility in Kennesaw. If you need to see a specialist on a regular basis you need to check if they have that specialist in their system. It gets costly to go out of network until your deductible is fulfilled. Everyone is reall
  16. They need to go back to school, let them learn how to give healthcare for a living rather than getting paid to deny people of care. Insurance companies only have one concern that is keeping your money for their profit. That is not what you purchase insurance for. I really am not the least bit concerned. There are plenty of things to insure and plenty of paper to shuffle to get it done. These companies don't care about people, they would just as soon the really sick ones would die.
  17. Life is changing, it's medicine, it stands alone in it's very own category. Why? because it is what you say it is. We set it aside, we allow only those people that deliver health services to profit. It really is that simple. We wipe the slate clean, insurance covers inanimate objects. Change is really ok, the world won't stop.
  18. I am not volunteering my information on a government website to save a few dollars a month. If you are uninsured and need it, I understand. I am just not comfortable with it. Everyone should be paying exactly the same amount and the government should be paying that amount monthly for those on medicaid. Their profit was contingent on my tax dollars paying for those people that were unprofitable to them. It was not an honest way of making money. It was gambling and they couldn't lose.
  19. I am reading the articles and the more I read the angrier I get. We have one problem and one problem only with healthcare reform. Figuring out how insurance companies can remain profitable while providing comprehensive coverage to the majority. Guess what? they can't the only way they remained profitable was to foist off the really sick people onto us the taxpayer. Well we can't run them out of business it's not the capitalist way. This is what rips me, is sooner or later they are going. What we are seeing is profit through politics. We will give you a couple of years to try and suck as
  20. I am giving you the link because of the language. I found it funny after dealing with head lice almost an entire year. Three beautiful daughters with long hair. In the end I had 3 beautiful daughters with short hair and finally no lice. From then on I armored their hair with mousse, gel and hairspray. I could have written this blog at the time language and all!!! From: Moms Who Drink And Swear: Chicago Edition The letter I would WANT to send home about LICE if I were the school principal
