  1. You and a lot of folks need the jobs. When companies come from all over the country to build their businesses here, everyone benefits from the influx of new money into our economy. For example, money earned in Ireland now comes into Paulding and circulates into our businesses and makes it's way into almost every pocket in the community. The more companies that come in the more money in the local economy. Everything you see in this county came from public funds at some point. Our roads and sewer systems. Teachers and other supporting personal. We have huge imbalance in the this county, not
  2. We went deep sea fishing years ago. My son caught something big. The captain took over the rod. 30 minutes later we have it close enough to see, it was a ray the tip of it's snout could be seen on one side of the boat and it's tail on the other. The line was cut on the barnacles. We would have liked to admire it more, but there was no way it would even fit in the boat. It was an exciting fight!!
  3. I do know that there have been a lot of lookers and no takers for the airport for the last couple of years. I could ask what the primary reason for them walking away was. We may have been working on infrastructure based on the reasons that companies were telling us no thanks. I would think if we were looking at maintenance and repair for even a small passenger airline we would have to have the fire station, security, and tower. The deal may have been contingent on us completing at least 1/2 of our obligation. Hopefully we will get to see the actual contract in the near future.
  4. My guess on this is that all the I's and T's were not ready. I am not sure that everything is signed off at this point. I certainly hope the tax payers have not gotten the short end of the stick. We really won't know until it is public. I am sure your folks have an open records request for it already. Just like everyone else I am also curious to see the details. I don't want us to have hourly flights of jets in and out of our airport. I do believe it will be disruptive. If anyone remembers I was very supportive of the mud bog. I felt the owner had been very resourceful and could possibly
  5. Advices from An Old Farmer Your fences need to be horse-high, pig-tight and bull-strong. Keep skunks and bankers at a distance. Life is simpler when you plow around the stump. A bumble bee is considerably faster than a John Deere tractor. Words that soak into your ears are whispered… not yelled. Meanness don’t jes’ happen overnight. Forgive your enemies; it messes up their heads. Do not corner something that you know is meaner than you. It don’t take a very big person to carry a grudge. You cannot unsay a cruel word. Every path has a few puddles. When you wallow with pigs, expect t
  6. Previous administration being key. What was done is done. Would you like it if we walked away and just let it rot? I suspect that only one promise would suit you and that is it. You don't want a general aviation airport, you don't want to ever see another penny of tax money spent there. You want everything purchased on bonds here to rot into the ground to show politicians that you and others don't want tax money used for anything but to employee as many folks as possible and to provide them with good salaries, benefits, and a lifetime of security and care on the taxpayers dime. All thos
  7. The airport itself was not ready, it needed fuel tanks, it needs fire and rescue. We had income coming in before the tornado, the planes were destroyed. The little management company that oversaw the planes could not pay rent because the planes were gone. We now have a little flight school out there. I hope that they do well. For charters we will need security, baggage, and I think a small tower. I think we needed to enlarge the apron(not sure about the right term) basically more concrete. The things needed out there to make it pay are not cheap. Anything the private companies pay for is le
  8. According to the website you can order now. I am going to try to do it as soon as possible to make sure it arrives in time. I am waiting on 2 to tell me the titles of the games they want.
  9. Never give more than you can afford to give and do it for your own pleasure. Some people simply don't have the capacity to feel guilt or shame. I also think that some parents use the gift programs to give their children a bigger Christmas. I know many parents want to give their kids a good Christmas, it is a parent thing. I have always liked to give mine a lot of presents to open. Not expensive things just to watch them open. I am still guilty of that even though they are grown. We just have to admit that Christmas is a retail holiday. Parents are trying to give their kids what they t
  10. Do you know if the salaries include insurance?
  11. I will go to JcPenney. The Walmart packing them in as early as 8pm Thanksgiving, No Thanks. I don't like crowds to begin with and being trapped in there is scary to me.
  12. Wally world! I have gamers! The discounts add up when buying games, so I am glad not to have to stand in line for them.
  13. If you need the discount but don't want to stand in line. I just saw were you can purchase them all online and have them shipped to you at the Black Friday price. Orders over 35.00 ship free!
  14. I am so proud of you for taking that step. Your life is turning around, it can only get better. You deserve a good life, you owe yourself many years of joy to make up for the bad times.
  15. 53/47. I am surprised because math is a challenge to me unless it is applied.
  16. In fact anything I need from the store I am getting today, that is how sure I am that there will be some ice problems.
  17. I have been watching this and I still think they are wrong. I think we will have freezing rain and sleet off and on for 2 days.
  18. I use the refrigerated one from the dairy section. I think they are very close to home made. I don't like blowing up my kitchen with flour
  19. It could be worse, I can still remember when people smoked in the doctors office! I think people are a lot more casual about seeing the doctor than they once were. I will often put a small bottled water in my purse if I think I will have a long wait. It is not just doctors offices that people leave behind their trash, it is everywhere. I am not sure is most people were raised to pick up after themselves and decided mom was full of it and I am not going to have manners and surely not force my children to have them. Manners are the glue that hold society together. I think the lack of
  20. Just pulled it out, there is a sheen of bubbling butter on top. I may have been wrong because chess does crisp a little on the top and doing the butter that way may create the crispness. We shall see how it taste.
  21. I pre-baked the crust 10 minutes. Pies that are cooked at very low temps can saturate a crust and make it like an over cooked dumpling. Check out the directions for the butter, have you ever been told to bind softened butter with wet ingredients like milk? No because it won't bind properly you always bind it with the sugar or melt the butter to a liquid form. I ended up with millions of tiny butter pearls which I hope does not ruin the consistency of my pie. I found a lemon chess that suggest you melt the butter.
  22. Before I point it out I want to see if anyone else recognizes what is wrong with this. I read it twice before starting, I knew what was wrong, but since it was the first time I made a custard type pie I followed it. So see if you see it. 1 1/2 cups sugar 5 tablespoons cocoa powder 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup evaporated milk 3 large eggs, room temperature 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 partially 9-inch baked pie crust Directions: 1 Preheat oven to 325F degrees. 2 Combine sugar, cocoa, flour, and salt. 3 B
  23. Your daughter may have gotten to know her and like her some what. You are entitled to your feelings and don't let anyone tell you that you are not. I can imagine the emotional turmoil and pain you have all been through, that does not have to be forgiven. For your own sake you need to change your internal language you have adapted to this situation. They are words that invoke very strong negative reactions, inside of you. This language hurts you a lot more than those around you. It builds a wall around you that pushes your children away. You may never move on, but your children may be ready
  24. Why can't we just say what this young man did was wrong and he got what he deserved. It always seems to be a tit for tat kind of thing. It reminds of those that say a women dressing provocatively was asking for it. Rape is hate crime.
