  1. I will go first. We always had the entire extended family at our home on Christmas eve. Because of that we often ate Thanksgiving at a relatives home, so over the years we made the rounds. I will never forget going to my aunt and uncles house. Their lifestyle was a little different but nothing crazy, just different. They lived in a town house which I thought was cool as a kid. This was the family that was late to everything, sometimes hours late. My aunt worked night shift so my uncle did a lot of the supervising of the kids and the chores. He was going to make the dinner, my aun

You are not too far off the mark with that. Talking to folks, I am hearing that they are supportive of the airport, even supportive of the commercialization. Many are tolerant of the need for secret negotiations. They are perturbed at the lack of communication from those involved and the agreement not being published somewhere. It is hard to defend something that you don't really know the details of. There really is a need to hold an open meeting where the details of the agreement are explained to those that want to know. If the agreement is good, and you believe what you have done i
  3. Free birth control was never about a hand out to the poor. It was about protecting the responsible people in society from the atrocities of unwanted children. Impoverished women were imprisoned by their bodies reproductive system. Husbands or even male relatives that could care less about their offspring. Free birth control is one of the best things that ever happened in this society. I know that a lot of people want to make life as horrible as possible while Obama is in office. This is going way too far. We are talking about unwanted children. Not every parents the same. We have seen
  4. I can totally relate. Learned dependency is an ugly affliction. You can't convince them that pulling the rug out from under them is the best thing for them in the long run. Her child will more than likely grow up to be the same. I have made it clear to family headed down that road that IF and I mean if I row your boat, I captain it until I get every penny back. She will blow through it, report her and so she has to spend some of it on her own up keep.
  5. The issue I have with free birth control pills period is how much the cost will go up, pharmaceutical companies have way too many sweet deals from the government. You want to feel sorry for them when you watch all the lawyers suing them on tv. It is their own fault they pushed for expedition of their products by stapling a check to the application. The short cuts have allowed more people to be harmed by products not properly tested. I am assuming that if an employ makes to much money to get free or discounted BC they expect that the employers insurance should fill the gap the feds left.
  6. So you don't have issue with paying for men to have ED meds on your dollar? You do know that a lot of the people getting them are making a fortune selling them on the black market. I take exception to the attack on women when it comes to birth control and that is exactly what it is.
  7. Well we know men rule the world, they would probably have insurance companies providing prostitutes for sex therapy if they could get away with it
  8. I am thinking the plumber checked my gas line when we moved in. If so a plumber could do both.
  9. It aggravates me that nobody has questioned the treatments for ED for men. Why should I have to pay for that? Pelvic politics don't apply to men. The bottom line is that policies are going to be more of a one size fits all. If I am a single women I will likely get an explanation of what my policy can cover if needed. They are not going to take out prostate testing because they are sending it to a women. I hate the nit picky distractions like this that simply put more roadblocks in the way of solving the problem. With the failure of the website we don't even have a saddle on the horse yet.
  10. None in Burnt Hickory, I am so disappointed poor Bear may never see snow.
  11. Reminds me of the time I caught the flu right before Christmas. I still managed to get the shopping and wrapping done with lots of drugs in my system. I was on the mend by Christmas eve. 2 days after Christmas my husband came down with it. He can not move from the couch to do anything, he is in horrible pain all over. I had no sympathy for him. I said I managed to all the Christmas preparations when I was sick with the flu. He says to me, I didn't know you were this sick, in his most pathetic voice, yeah divorce crossed my mind!!!
  12. do you think that school is on sewer or septic? Everybody that owned land in this county jumped on the gravy train. If he builds it maybe he could use Todd's real estate company to sell them. It is not too far of a stretch to have David Barnett to lay all the carpet in the Mcmansions he intends to build. Tommy Graham could store all the construction tools. I can't find any way for Dave to make any money on it unless he is going to grow all the food on his small farm to feed the illegals doing the construction. All I know is that I don't know exactly where his land is, I do know that we
  13. Is it a PRD? I have no idea. I will freak when the first house goes up on it. If folks have stuff they need to come on off of it. I know the folks that are against the airport already have the agreement through open records from Propeller I wonder why they aren't sharing it here? I don't have my head in the sand. I simply have no issue with the plans for the airport. If folks have proof of wrong doing I am all ears. I just don't consider commercial flight at the airport wrong doing.
  14. I have no idea what Mr. Austin owns or where he lives. We are not close friends. I have read the long term plan multiple times and often refer to it when I see anything new going up or rezoning. If their is a big variance I get suspicious of personal favors. I believe the area you refer to is in purple, meaning that it is an industrial area. If someone tries to out housing or retail in the purple area then it is reason to be concerned.
  15. I think you will find the Ivey Gulledge projects to be part of the long term community development plan. http://www.dca.state.ga.us/development/planningqualitygrowth/programs/downloads/plans/pauldingagenda.pdf Much of this information is not new nor are the plans. Folks need to look at it. If you think something is out of line you need to point it out to your commissioner before the project is funded and executed. The airport plans, the road improvement, the closing of the landfill are outlined in it. You will also see that the industrial area you pointed out was in the plan when it was wr
  16. I am cracking up, first we are getting rain only, then it might snow. Then it is going to snow more than we thought. As soon as that goes out on the internet the temps start going up higher than they predicted. Weather in the south, you gotta love it!!!
  17. We have had plenty of industrial prospects that can not find suitable buildings that are big enough or don't have the dock space. We have local companies that have been here for years that can't find a big enough lease to expand to. We have an investment company willing to build hangers, buildings to suit aerospace manufacturing, but we don't want them here. We don't want anything here, we want it to be a sleepy little town with every big box store and chain food place paying 10,000 people in our community slave wages and no medical benefits. Woopy woopy were getting a Red Lobster, go te
  18. It was funny how sewage was run from point A to B near certain projects and the developers paid little or nothing to hook up to it. The same went for commercial developers. As far as the hospital, a lot of folks were absolutely positive it was going somewhere else and were quite angry. They to this day are claiming that David Austin took away the hospital that would have raised the value of commercial property in their area. If your looking for some more anti-David Austin folks to jump in on the anti airport folks you might find some takers up there.
  19. Business ventures fail, government ventures do not because they have a bottomless pit of capital. You notice parks and recreation projects never fail or are abandoned no matter the cost. We spend billions every year in DC maintaining and repairing public building and monuments.
  20. Awww I think allowing us to share your journey and be part of it an a positive way is better than paying anyone back. When you are strong enough you will be someone others can lean on.
  21. I wonder how we can find out what the flight path is? I was just looking at Google earth. I frequently fly east and west out of Atlanta. When we come into Atlanta we start turning south somewhere around north Paulding they literally almost follow the big power lines from the power plant for a few miles. I believe that flight paths don't deviate unless there is weather or something else. I think 90-100 families being able to hear planes landing and taking off is very low number. We don't know if they are in the flight path for that airport. The folks on Hulsey will be severely impacted
  22. I am aware that they are an investment firm. Don't call a BOC that almost all the commissioners should be in jail a smart BOC. I suspect that Propeller was glad when they turned them down, nobody wants to be involved with a pack of criminals to do business.
  23. I knew from the beginning that this was a high risk venture. In my mind I was prepared to give it 2 years. That is about the point that many start up businesses break even, very few show significant profits at that point. I was always concerned about the lack of skin the management company had in the game. I know that production can be planned out to cover more than a year. So many movies being produced in the state already had studios booked with our neighboring and communities and competitors. I was afraid we were late to the game as far as competition is concerned. So what if it is a fa
  24. I found these statements significant. My issue with public/private partnerships(especially after the movie studio) is how much skin will the private business have in the game. I think double what the public is ask to be on the hook for works for me. Brett Smith, CEO of Propeller Investments, is clearly agitated with the Commission’s decision to shut down the process. His company, which operates 37 airports, spent 3 years working on the project and submitted a 600 page proposal outlining their plans to invest $110 Million at Briscoe. His opinion is that “the whole process was handled disgra
  25. As I said from this day forward, everyone has a choice, whether it is residential, business, or even taking a job. If you don't want to go near it, nobody will make you. Thanks to all the uncontrolled housing growth we need the airport and other industrial businesses here. Unless someone is going to start blowing up subdivisions there is no going back. What would upset me would be to see deviation of the community planning that was done. That is my biggest issue. Everything should go where it has been designated. If we do that we should not turn into a Clayton.
