The way I see it, it is a fair tax because everyone pays, the folks on welfare, disability, social security and even the criminals stealing and selling drugs. The folks that pay to drive a car everyday to work, you know the ones paying the biggest part of the taxes supporting those listed are going to get a little help now instead of having it all on our backs. It is a fair tax.

OK I thought he said he was going for a second term after serving a 1/2 term in someone's place, I must have misunderstood. Thank you, I always try to be aware of people that don't particularly want to be on camera especially local folks. On the other hand people in office and running for office should not shy away from a record of their remarks, I was trying to respect the wishes of the group on this. As we get closer to the elections I feel it is my responsibility to try and get statements on the record for the voters.

The ladies never object to me filming and I am often invited to the meetings and they are very nice to me. Many know that I am not as far right as they are but generally they are polite to me. Mr. Lewis did not want the meeting filmed, The Cobb commissioner was giving the counter points, IMO there were not many supporters of the Tsplost there, it there was like me they were quiet. I was accused of being a democrat because I support it. That really didn't make sense because the majority of elected officials in Georgia are Rep. and they came up with this plan. I don't know anything abo

The flip side of this is that if the majority of our county wants this the other counties could vote it down. A freeze on fuel tax for the duration probably would have guaranteed this passing, but to put that in effect every region would have had to pass it to make it viable. This site gives a little more insight into our challenges with funding the DOT My link

I was surprised to find that Paulding had a higher population than Bartow. They may have more than twice as much industry and manufacturing than we do, meaning a large percent of their population working within the county for a living wage with benefits are working for private industry rather than local government. Our high earners need to commute, so we may end up with more votes for it than them.

The reason I posted this is that I realized that most of my knowledge of it had come from opinion pieces and I found a site with factual info from the state. I don't like some of it, mostly the idea of ending up with a region paying double the tax if other counties vote it down and the revenue is made up by fuel tax. What I do like about it is local control and the commitment to projects that can't be changed. This will also hurt some regions where people don't want public transportation and feel bike and walking paths are frivolous.
-
This is the way I understand it to work, lets say 95% of Bartow votes for it, 5% of Paulding votes for it, if the overall votes in the region even if they come for a single county make up over 50 % needed to pass, it passes. The revenue from fuel tax being down was a statement from Mr.Lewis and an audience member pointed out that they are expecting it to go down even further with hybrid cars and more fuel efficient cars. I was not aware that it was the only source of funding other than splost.

I know that some people have studied the issue, I had a brief over veiw of it until Yesterday. I attended the Paulding county Republican Women's club meeting yesterday were they had 2 speakers pro and con for the T splost. Pro- John Lewis State transportation LEARN MORE Con- Candidate for Cobb Commission chair Larry Savage I was ask not to video tape the meeting, so this is more of a personal observation of the Tsplost and what I learned through my own research which I will share the links with you so that you can read for yourself. First of all I was not aware that DOT funding

My heart breaks for you. Perhaps you can persuade him to enter into therapy with Ann Pennebaker. She is located on Main street in Dallas. She has a very successful program and she works with families on a sliding scale fee system. What a wonderful Mother's day gift if he would go, I will pray that he does.

I posted this in the Cafe instead of in the PF to hopefully have a discussion on the reality of this. Georgia was one of the first states to cut back unemployment. I have heard so many times from adults especially around my age that if benefits ran out they could always go to work in the retail or restaurant business. Many have found out that they are not wanted or needed in these industries, these industries thrive off of the young and under educated and have no need for the educated, financially needy middle aged worker. They seem to have even less need for the college graduate working an

I had free access to tanning beds for many years and never used them. I have used tanning beds less than 10 times in my life. I use self tanning lotions. The tops of my thighs just above the knees the skin is rough, I blame the few times I was in a tanning bed on that. I go every year to the dermatologist to be checked. I use sunscreen on my face and sit under umbrellas by the pool and on the beach. I do get color easily because of my Indian blood. They have been whittling away my dad's head and face for years, it is very unattractive to say the least. I do believe there is more to this

I have to say he is a cutie pie!!!!! I don't think this lady is a positive role model for breast feeding moms. We have a generation of moms that are not going to sit at home going crazy because they are breast feeding. I want people to respect the breast feeding of infants in public. I want men to use the same kind of control they use when looking at young teen girls, ya know that mental no. This lady is inviting the opposite with this picture. There is no reason for anyone to see this, if she chooses to BF until the kid is school age, she can verbally share that with others, the pictu

He will be able to show that picture to his college buddies and brag he is a celebrity. On a serious note many years ago women on the farm would try to use it as a form of birth control because there was nothing else. I am very supportive of BF even in public with infants under a year, but after that a child can drink from a cup and it is better left to more intimate and quiet places. The lady on the cover is an exhibitionist using her son to make a point.

Read the rest of the story here This week's Time magazine cover features Jamie Lynne Grumet, a 26-year-old woman breastfeeding her three-year-old son. Grumet was one of four mothers photographed by Time for a cover story on "attachment parenting," an approach--outlined by 1992's "The Baby Book" by Dr. Bill Sears--that recommends extended breast-feeding, co-sleeping and "baby wearing." Time's cover line for the May 21 issue asks, "Are You Mom Enough?" The provocative cover, published online Thursday, was met with the predictable Twitter

I understand what you are saying, when it comes to extremest I sometimes do an eye roll, but I also accept them as a necessary evil because they are often highly motivated to find a way to inform others and make positive changes. Because of their work many factory farms have changed their procedures and found out that the end result is a better product.

Somebody abused those animals to make that video, whoever they are they need to be charged with animal cruelty. Wrangling large animals is no easy job, but the piglets being thrown and continuing to strike the animals until they cried in pain after the animal complied was viscous and vindictive, the acts of sick minds. Factory farming in many ways is a cruel way to raise food, the cramped conditions, the stress and fear involved is bad enough, but abusing these animals is not necessary to the purpose.

Warning! this video is very graphic and disturbing!!!! Huffington Post article Read more Piglets are haphazardly swung in circles, sows are beaten, and animals squirm with untreated abscesses in new footage alleging animal abuse at a Wyoming pig breeding facility. The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), an animal advocacy group, hired an undercover investigator to spend the month of April 2012 working at a Wyoming Premium Farms facility in Wheatland, Wyo. HSUS identified one pig in its video on whose back, it said, a worker sat and boun
