  1. I looked up the Kindle DX after reading about it on here......WOW!!! That is quite a price jump. I need something larger due to my visual impairment but I'm not going to pay $379+ for it. I am going to try the Kindle on PC and read some Mary Higgins Clark books I've missed out on the last couple of years.
  2. Actually I didn't buy ANY ~ I haven't bought a magazine from them in YEARS!!! That is only if you win the MILLIONS. I only won thousands. Now that is a STRETCH with a Dawg in your signature.
  3. I don't think PCH works that way but, I'm not gonna run out and spend it quite yet. SURE YOU CAN.........you are a Bama fan.
  4. :yahoo: :yahoo: Dear Winner!!! This is to inform you that your email address has been emerged as the winner of($10,000,000.00 USD) in the publishers clearing house. (Where is the sarcasm button???)
  5. US TOO!!! From what I understand the final season is yet to air on NBC? At least we can enjoy it while it lasts. GREAT SHOW! Why is it good shows with good writing, acting and good family-oriented story lines always fail????
  6. I agree with all the above. Besides a lot of people (me included for a long time) have the misconception that Bass Pro is a "hunting and fishing" store. While they do carry just about any and everything you would need to hunt and fish at reasonable prices they are MUCH MORE. They have one of the best selections of shoes you will find anywhere, nice and stylish clothing for men and women, neat cooking supplies including "Uncle Buck's" line. Much, much more. Sports Authority isn't even in the same league!
  7. THANK YOU for your prompt response. I have responded.
  8. Can someone from the Community Chest please send me a PM??? I have a question and have attempted to send a PM via: "initiate a PM by clicking here: and the Community Chest will discreetly respond." But, it takes me back to the Forum screen. TIA!
  9. Yes I see snow. As they were showing the radar on TV and it showed on show in Paulding it was SNOWING!!
  10. I KNOW!! I was surprised (but pleased) to see her on there. Do you think she is going to be around or was she just there for the wedding???? I was right about the brothers. POOR Nina!
  11. Ahhhhhhh.......How Sweet~THANKS!! Yes, he has to do something to pay the bills now that he is on his own. It is funny you say that.....he was telling me yesterday when he was here that Sunday when he worked 6-7 people in a row came in and hugged/talked to him. The manager asked "Does everyone in Paulding know you?" He said, "Yeah,I'm sorta famous" and laughed. I'm sorry your daughter didn't get a solo but send me her number and I'll have him call her with a belated greeting.
  12. You are so right!! I fried pork chops, mashed taters, field peas, yellow rice (I know it is another starch but the boy is coming for dinner when he gets off work and it is his fav! One of those little things.), rolls and gravy.
  13. THANK YOU for the info!! I kept asking the guy what the $250 credit card/gift card was for - a Visa, MC, a specific website, etc, etc? All he could say was "it can be used for shopping and dining." I have seen some credit cards/gift cards that can only be used for items on a specific website and suspected this was one of them.
  14. Yes it is. I don't have an issue with going on the time share tours - like I said we've taken advantage of it and taken a lot of vacations this way. I am REALLY good at saying "NO. I am here for the free gifts and BYE" This company is supposed to be a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines but I can't find anything online regarding that. Their "gifts" for 90 minutes of time are 2 Delta Airline tickets to anywhere in the US and a $250 Gift Card. Just interested if anyone has been on this specific tour and/or gotten these gifts. Thanks.
  15. Has anyone taken a marketing tour with Sunset Vacations in Atlanta??? We have been on many a vacation over the years by doing these tours. If you know anything about or have been to Sunset Vacations please let me know your experience. THANKS!
  16. Thanks. My family's experience with her during the show and afterward was that she does care about people. There was no reason for her to stay in touch with my aunt and uncle after their appearance on the show but she would call out of the blue to check on them. But, as I said this was a LONG time ago and it appears she has changed since then. In watching Oprah over the years I think she initially did genuinely care about the people on the show. But......now???
  17. I have never purchased furniture from IKEA. But, DS has a beautiful black platform bed with a solid high headboard and drawers underneath. We bought it at Badcock and it is very sturdy. Actually it is still in his room (although he has moved out) because it is so heavy and DH isn't about to take it apart and put it together AGAIN.
  18. About 22 yrs ago I had a great aunt and uncle that won a contest she had for loving couples with a long marriage. She stayed in touch with them after the show. A year later they were in a car accident where my uncle died instantly and my aunt was hospitalized in critical condition and died a week later. Their daughter contacted Oprah's people and flowers were sent to my aunt in the hospital and to both funerals. Oprah may or may not have known about the tragedy but based on her being in touch with them during that year I like to think she knew she sent the flowers. It meant a lot to the family
  19. Yes he is  The first time DH and I saw the DA we both said "that's the ER doctor that got his arm cut off." Don't have a clue what the actors name is but he will ALWAYS be THAT doctor.
  20. I knew someone who was (is) a hoarder. You could not walk in her front door because the living room was stacked with boxes and more boxes blocking the door. Two extra bedrooms were the same way and she had a motor home that was stacked from end to end, floor to ceiling with "stuff". She was a chronic shopper and LOVED to go to Value City when it was in Marietta. If something was a good deal she would buy it - regardless if she needed it, could use it, if it were the wrong size, etc. Then it would be added to her "stuff". A sweet lady but sad. I have a hard time throwing things away - espe
  21. Yes he was. I watched GH when he was on there - that was a LONG time ago.
  22. GOOD LUCK!! You'll be in good shape and back on here in no time. (And, I know you have a heart - you couldn't help but have one - I've seen your GRANDdaughter!! )
  23. I agree.....and that snake of a "father"!?!?!? URGGGGGGG.
