I'm extremely nearsighted. I was at the opthamologist's in Augusta a few years back and the assistant was telling me how wonderful it was to not need glasses any longer. Young girl. Then the Doc comes in (who does the surgeries) and we're chatting about Lasik. I was about 58 then. I was telling him about needing to take my glasses off to see up very close. He told me that that is why he had not had the lasik himself. You lose the ability to just take glasses off to read or do fine work in your old age. My BFF used Dr. Oyola at Cobb for a very aggressive breast cancer and is 7 yrs cancer-free. I used to go to the appts with her and he is so sweet!

Lowrider, I am so sorry. My mom is 92 and just had a pacemaker put in. She had Afib. She has been battling vascular dementia for a few years now and in reading about Afib, I found that it frequently causes the confusion. I hope you can enjoy the moments when she has clarity during all of this! Praying for you both.

I have one answer. I was watching something on the history channel a few weeks ago and they said that the laregest silver mine, named Bonanza, was located near Virginia City. My guess is the creators of the show knew that little factoid.

Mrs. B, do you need a snap-on foot or does it have to have the shank attached? I have some extras. What is the model number of the machine?

I have a kenmore machine with a short shank and 2 Singer machines with short shanks and the feet are interchangeable.
