My son called me one day and said, "Mom, I know I'm getting old. I like squash!"

I second that! -
My Mom is 92 and I am a big fan of Paulding Hospital. She's going to get a room with her name on it before long!

With my 2 boys, red cheeks and ears meant allergies. Sometimes a low-grade temp went with it. They were given triaminic but there are many to choose from now.

Maybe she unpinched a nerve. Whatever, she's your miracle girl! -
Went to a Chili Cookoff in Blue Ridge, does Dallas ever have one?

I'd love to do that, but not during the summer. Maybe fall when it cools down. Too hot for brunswick stew in the summer. -

Laurie, although it hurts the humans, it is the best for the furbabies. I picture my lost babies as they were when they were young, running, jumping and chasing each other. I'll join them again someday and that makes me so happy. I'll say a prayer for your baby and the rest of the family as you let him go... -
I totally agree. When our air went out, they brought over a reconditioned unit to keep us cool until our unit came in. Good people and good service!

Shout out to our local hospital ER Staff

I love the ER and the rest of the hospital. I'm glad so many others agree! -
I use Ancestry.com also. It's easy to get started, then it gets addictive! I got an email the other day from a woman whose ggg-grandfather is the brother of my ggg-grandfather. We have a lot of info to swap.

Me, too! When I have surgery, the fat is ORANGE!

Think of lovely memories that you and your sister have of your mom. Write each one on a separate slip of paper, then roll up and tie with a ribbon. Fill a pretty jar with the memories for her to read during her tea party!

New here but already in need of prayers...

Prayers for Haley until we hear something positive! -
You know, it may be safer from vandalism sitting in the SD. There are so many people going down Brooks Road, including many police cars from the nearby facilities, that someone would have to be really stupid to bother the headstones. It's pretty well lit, too.

Johnny, while we're on that subject (family history) are you familiar with the little old cemetery on Brook's Road in the subdivision?

Pumpkinvine Cemetery...anyone know the location?

There are Gann's buried there, but I was going to ask this same question. Are you a volunteer for Find-a-grave or is this a coincidence? I just got a photo request for this cemetery but haven't been able to look for the cemetery. My mom just got out of the hospital so I'm not getting out much right now. -
Sitting in a room at Paulding Hospital

Mother is comfortable and feels fine. Her heart rate is still out of control so the cardiologist is trying new meds and monitoring her HR. Dr. Peshel just came in and explained what she was going to do. I like her very much. It's a waiting game now. Thanks for asking! -

Those are so darling! I may have to make one for my niece! -
If you can't say anything nice on this topic, please, back out now. My Mother had what my Grandmother would call a sinking spell yesterday. Literally. She was not hungry at lunch and before she could get back to the bedroom to lie down, she was draped over the walker and unable to make it to the bed. I called 911 and they sent the folks to get her and take her to the hospital. Her heart rate was sky-high. She got a shot right away to bring the HR down and they started trying to find out what was happening. She's 92, BTW. Back at the ranch, as the saying goes, my wonderful neig

I have a son who works for a major company as an internet security analyst. He is always very laid-back about the various internet viruses going around. Having said that, I got a warning from him this morning about something "very nasty going around." I have scanned my desktop and downloaded Microsoft Security Essentials (free) for my new netbook. If you are not protected, you may want to download MSE and scan now.
