Are they any good? We need a video to see if they should be illegal or not.

You know I will if I have an issue. That is crazy, btw.

Columbine. After the string of school shootings, schools eased up on cell phone possessions. Since that inch was given, many kids took the mile and now use the cell phones all day long in school. Most of the time when I bust a kid texting, he/she is having a full text conversation with their parent.

I see this issue often at school. You would think the kids who steal would get expelled, but they usually just get 3 days ISS. Not much of a punishment, so the crime probably does pay (some of those phones and IPODs cost over $200, which I always thought was a felony). Do they sell what they steal on ebay or just keep it to use? I don't get that part. The poster who said it can be traced back to the parents who don't question where their sweety got a $200 IPOD was right on. How many kids are raised by people who steal themselves? That's the only way I can see this being ignored, or all

The part about not being able to see the pasture from the road is strange, too. Next time he'll put them in the barn.

Report the thief, unless you taught your horses to pick locks...

Was Perren after her? I think Perren was appointed. I wonder why they changed from elected to appointed?

If they said, "Vote YES! It's for the children!", you did a really good job. lol.

Yeah, I remember, for the children. I think we have seen the population level. Too many houses not selling/going into foreclosure. You really have to think about who will move into those repo'd houses and if they will be able to afford a bond. Do we HAVE to have new bonds? I wonder how long we will have to pay off the old ones? I think we should just sell a school to a commune. Then we are even.
-
They said this last time: "What will we do if we don't pass the bond referendum? We will have no option but to move to double sessions." Will you vote NO, no matter what? I will, even if they say they won't purchase toilet paper for the schools if it doesn't pass. I think the fed and state gov't is going to get more from us, that leaves the county out of the loop.

Who was the last elected superintendent?

Does anyone know what bond debt reduction is? That seems like an oxymoron to me. I thought bond money was appropriated and spent on exclusive projects as it was collected. What is bond debt? Did we maybe overspend?

(I'm starting this crap early, while Bentwater is still thinking about Spring Break destinations. The rest of us have to rally quickly. )

And did you know SPLOST vote is coming up again? During the meeting, discussions continued on the best time for the district to ask voters to approve a renewal of SPLOST funding. The two options for this year are July 20 and Nov. 2, two dates already set for elections in the county. “Another option would be to have an election on March 15 of next year, the date the current SPLOST runs out,” said Bucky Keegan of Morgan Keegan and Co. “The projects you are going to have in the SPLOST will have to be identified when you decide to go forward,” added Keegan. “You have talked about usin

Remember 2006? You could still find a job and sell a house in Paulding. Peruse through this blast from the past: http://www.lukevision.com/PDFs/Paulding%20County%2007%20BENCHMARK%20REVIEW.pdf Still see things the same way? That "privately funded" special election still makes me mad.

Maybe they are trying to beat this: The announcement comes on the heels of a new state bill that, if passed, would make it illegal for school systems to give raises to superintendents while teachers are being furloughed. I think Cliff Cole is a good choice, I think I just missed the "choice" part...

Do I remember superintendent being an elected position back in the day or did I dream that?

You are a flatlander. Are you from San Bernardino County or LA county? LA is most populous and San Bernardino is largest in continental US. Georgia, and all the other colonial states, can't be compared to out west. Manifest Destiny made us cut the country up into bigger chunks as we went westward. I already don't like being part of Metro Atlanta. I would not want to join up with Douglas or Fulton counties. We would pay out the nose for their services. We are more peaceable out here.

I think it depends on if you are an exempt or non-exempt employee whether the law covers you to be protected by Fair Labor laws. These, among other jobs, are exempt from some protections: Executive, administrative, professional, outside sales and some computer positions are considered exempt positions. Do you do any of these? I guess some people need the government to think for them. Some of us would rather think for ourselves. It used to be a large majority of Americans could "do" for themselves and resented governmental interference. Not now. People are willing to give up ev

I'm sure they will send somebody right over. Probably with guns.
-
Are you serious? You really think the government gives a crap about if they have lunch meetings a few times a month? You think they would send somebody right over? How much would it cost taxpayers to get someone right on that? You are liberal to a fault. Crazy liberal. Liberal as a cheezehouse rat.

If I don't get a vacation this year, I am holding you personally responsible. lol. I always feel bad for people. I remember being poor. Most people who grew up like that remember it. I just wish everybody could do better so I don't have to worry about them. I remember the day I grew up, that moment I became an adult. I was stressing over how I was going to pay my rent and bills and still give my family member money to pay theirs. I realized that day that people have made their own way, usually as a result of life decisions. I figured out I had to do the best I can in life so I am in a

You're right. You never know who is using drugs. I would probably be shocked. You are working and trying. We can't fault you for that. I hope you are able to get better medical care in the future. Maybe the new legislation will be a good thing for you. Bless you. Hang in there.
-
I know. You would help anybody, whether you think they deserve it or not. I'm good, though. (For now.) Thanks!

I have a dear friend with MS. I know everybody is different, but about how long does it take to be debilitating? I don't want to ask my friend, but I worry about her...
