It was the circumcision thing. lol. I spilled my drink and had to respond. lol. I wasn't judging. I always wish others had more. Hell, I wish I had more. But, you never know somebody else and what they have been through. We all have a back story. I just think we all handle things differently. We are all different.
-
I wish you well, even if you type in all caps. lol. Maybe the people with degrees can't find a better job either. If we aren't going to judge anyone, they should be included. Maybe you could babysit your daughter's child and she could work and pay you. That way you both are better off.

Holy sheeze.

I put my pipe down to type this. lol. If you don't use drugs, why do you care if they test you? Most of us, just so you know, don't bail out on our credit card bills and declare bankruptcy. I'm not sure who you hang with, but I don't know anybody who has done that. Why do you work where you work? You said that others only work there because they aren't motivated to find anything better. You could do the same. I don't know you and I wish you could work somewhere you made enough money to eat and pay your bills.

I care if they are receiving aid for dependent families. Independent drug users are using at their own risk, but users with kids makes me angry. We should drug test just to get kids out of the homes, if for no other reason. I don't want to open the whole can of worms about how potheads aren't harming their children. If they are willing to leave their kids high and dry if they get busted, just so they can get high, I won't defend their parenting abilities.
-
Yeah, I feel you. Just me and the kids. It's been that way for over 18 years and we have been able to make it. I would say I have been lucky, but that would negate all the times I was so tired I cried on the way to my second and third jobs.

You are exactly right. The ones yelling the loudest against giving more handouts are not the rich people. They are insulated. It is the people who have done without and worked hard to have a little more. Most of us weren't handed it and I think that is why we are so offended by increased handouts. Have you ever seen the figures about how much aid is truly given when you add up the housing, utility help, food, cash, healthcare and other benefits? It makes me sick to think I could be making as much by laying around all day. I would like to be home all day with my kids, too. But I'm not married a

You mean there is no "beholden"?

Nah, only if you are looking at it that way. I let others fight about race and other issues I don't worry that much about. I likes all peoples. We are all in this together. Race has nothing to do with this. Culture, however, does play a big part in this. We have too many people needing help now. Some of them are raised to not be productive. When that productivity is called out, the race card comes out on both sides. But this isn't about that. We don't need to feed more money into the system. That will kill it. We need to fix these cultural issues that are destroying our economy. I don'

I know. I would PM your wife if you were too mean to me. lol. I like my job and my employer. Never have any big problems. Like to go in the mornings. BUT, I am not grateful. I am conscientious. That is different.

I claim a few German straight-off-the-boat ancestors. I'm pretty sure they fled Nazi Germany in fear. I am appalled at your flippant use of history to make your liberal point. Liberals: Do whatever you have to do to get what you want. Sink as low as you need to. Take what you can get. Use Hitler if needed.

Take your toys and go home. lol. The separation of ideas is very real. Some of us have to pay for things and some of us just get things. We will have very different views on things. I am horrified people are so selfish they don't see how this will harm working families. As long as they benefit, and it is free money to them, what do they care?

Godwin's Law. Used often by people who have run out of anything to add to a conversation.

Bullcheeze. We take care of the disabled and elderly. The healthy should have to either have insurance or pay for their own medical care. You just don't want to pay for your own care. Bottom line.
-
Not Wow. Yes, if you want to be an equal, you have to do your share. What is wrong with that? Why has our country ALLOWED this? People have no freaking shame. They want all the rights without the responsibilies. That is wrong. That takes from others.

Only it's not the military or education. It is something you should do for yourself. Like food and clothing and housing. The military and roads education benefit EVERYBODY. What you want only benefits YOU. See the difference?

Ahhh. I think you verbalized what was bothering me. It is the same attitude of victimization. Let people take advantage and most will. There are still some good eggs out there, but a lot of people are self-serving and will take advantage. Most companies look at the bottom line and you have to look out for yourself. Be too grateful now and you will have to even more grateful later... Even if it hurts most of us? Even if it takes food out of MY childrens' mouths? That is OK with you? That is what you pray for? How sad.

I have mixed feelings about your post. Yes, it is great to be paid. I know that. My employer is a good employer, but many people aren't so lucky and being misused because the economy is poor. Is it OK to say, "I'll put up with anything because I'm being paid."? I wouldn't be able to. I would find another job, no matter how difficult. I would move if I had to. It is my greatest fear to be a sheep or a victim.

Are there even that many union jobs here? Most jobs are not... I didn't blame employers. I was pointing out the symbiotic nature of the employer/employee relationship. People are willing to put up with crap they shouldn't have to put up with if they are scared to lose their job. That isn't right, even if the economy is bad. Lowered standards might not recover if the economy gets better. Be careful what you give up and expect to get right back. That was the point. Georgia does have a "right to work" law which means they have to bargain with unions in good faith, but there aren't THAT ma

Why do white people argue so much? I don't think I have ever seen people argue over who was whiter before...

How much money was raised for the school? I would rather watch pretty girls than buy expensive wrapping paper. Pageant officials are BRAVE. Nothing makes a parent more angry than thinking their little one has had her feelings hurt or was cheated. Most schools have to almost FORCE people to be cheerleading coaches. Usually the new teacher on the block has to take it. The rest of us know better. I was thrilled when my daughter switched from cheerleading to drama. There was WAY less drama with the drama!

I love pageant fights. I wish this thread had video.

I have been broke before. I have worked three or four part time jobs to pay my bills. It sucked, but I made it through. There is always something. People can't give in to hopelessness. We all need to help each other. I paid an out of work friend to do some yard work for me the other day. I see some people on pcom doing side jobs like yard work or car detailing to make ends meet. Where there is a will, there is a way. If all else fails, public aid is there (just don't make a career out of it).

Employees can find a new job. I have done jobs that didn't pay enough or I didn't want to do to get by. Something better always comes along if you refuse to be a victim...
