It isn't a well-conceived program. Most older kids are probably too embarrassed to sit in the cafeteria and eat while their parents aren't allowed to eat anything. As I mentioned, it also isn't widely available to all the hungry kids in Paulding. I don't mind feeding the kids, in fact, I like the idea. BUT, make it accessible to all the truly hungry little ones and organize it so that it will be used. This program was somebody's bad idea at the state level. What a waste of money. Send the kids on the free lunch program a McDonald's gift card instead. McDonald's is actually healthier than

I was wondering how old the little boy was that got pushed off the dock. I can't imagine touching someone else's child, but I could understand it if the other boy was a toddler.

If the county was smart they would charge by the hour for park visits. We have to do something to raise a little money.

I was thinking about houses left empty and schools that have been built to handle a population (not just Hispanic/Latino, but all newer residents) that might just up and leave. People are leaving now that are not waiting for their homes to sell, they are just leaving it all behind. With so many homeowners in distress, it is easier to rent a home now, even if you have a repossession. Georgia had a huge population boom, and we built accordingly, and I don't think anybody ever considered what would happen if the boomers went home. Some services would surely benefit from the lowered popu

This story about large numbers of Hispanic families leaving Dalton (both citizens and aliens) made me wonder what would happen if this becomes a trend in other areas of Georgia: http://www.myfoxatlanta.com/dpp/news/For-Sale-Signs-Pop-Up-as-Hispanics-Leave-Area-20100531-ap-sd Many Hispanic families come either from Mexico or from western states (Texas, California, Arizona, New Mexico, etc.) and aren't as tied to this area as other residents who have generations of family here. What would happend to the Metro economy if first generation Georgian families moved to find work in other states? G

It's the DOT's fault for putting those things in the road. Somebody should call the police and have them removed.

You should have yanked them out of those cars and spanked them. Good example of "boys being boys". lol.

I think it was an attempt at paraprosdokian, just not a very good one. Mitch Hedberg did it best, "I used to do drugs. I still do, but I used to, too." How nice to live in a country where we are free to have an opinion, and express it openly, even it differs from those in power. While I find it distasteful to argue politics over the graves of fallen soldiers, sailors, airmen, and marines, it is because of them we are able to do so. Some gave all, all gave some. None will be forgotten. I would like to see a list of ALL our casualities in one list. They all rest together. -
I can imagine the conversation in truck when they were stopped: "I TOLD YOU to drive out to my house, but NOOOOOOOO, you wanted to meet half way."

Where was Michael? Daniel didn't get to go to the church? Smoke Monster just dead, no puff of smoke (what the hell was it, anyway)? The six-toed foot statue, just for the heck of it? The ending was so rushed it was lame. No crap, everybody dies eventually. Not a good return on a six year investment.

What was up with Jack's son? Did he want to have one with Juliet? Where did the boy go after the concert? I think it was weak. All the people on the plane they had never met before were the most important people in their lives because they died together? And Dharma, why?

That implies it's the victim's fault that somebody stole from him. It is the thief's fault. It sucks to live in a podunk town AND have to lock your car doors. It should be one way or the other.

You should be forced to eat everything you get caught stealing. Then people would only steal food, which I can understand.

A dumbass does those things, but as I pointed out, there are hundreds more around here. I didn't see where they published her blood alcohol level, so I assume you don't know for sure, either. Underage persons are DUI even if they don't meet the legal BAC level, so only the police and DA probably know that information. They screwed up, doubly. No car seat coupled with alcohol involvement. I don't dispute that. I just don't know if taking the baby away forever is the right answer. I see kids everyday that aren't with their parents. It is never an ideal situation. I would rather see these young p

Stories like this make us all angry. This 20 year old girl (and her 25 year old fiancé) made a stupid stupid stupid mistake. I'm sure she realizes it about now. Her life is going to be very hard for a long time. That being said, I'm not sure taking the baby away is the best thing. I thought so at first as a knee jerk reaction, but after viewing her personal networking site, it really appears she loves her baby. She effed up, that can't be denied or changed, but should she lose the baby if this was a one-time HUGE mistake? As someone said, this could prove to be the impetus for a positive life

OMG, is this the other guy? I took down the link in case it isn't, but holy crap if it is...

She should post these: Mark 10:19 You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.' " Deuteronomy 5:19 "You shall not steal.

You think she knows what "righteousness" means?

Aww. So sad. I don't ever want to see someone condemned on here for running over a loose dog. This is what can happen if you try to miss it. Bless you, little one. I hope he/she is OK.

Make sure to put TWO STAMPS on the envelope. The post office needs money, too.
