I was planning a two week vacation to the Grand Canyon, but since the economy is so bad, we aren't going. I don't want to spend every dime I have in case I need it. I wi

    SPLOST

It isn't nearly as much as would be collected for owner-occupied housing. I'd like to know the ratio of difference, especially on the income-dependent apartments. I'll have to look up one of the apartment complexes online and divide the taxes they paid per unit. From www.paulding.gov report: http://www.paulding.gov/DocumentView.aspx?DID=417 Q: What happens in the event that the SPLOST is not passed? A: Without the extension of the SPLOST program, most of the badly needed proposed projects could not be accomplished and possibly result in a millage rate increase in order to fund the p
  3. If there wasn't a report, he probably didn't do much damage to the other vehicle. Your son is probably sitting on pins and needles waiting for someone to contact you. Stressful lesson, but I bet he knows EXACTLY how to handle the situation if it ever happens in the future. Hopefully you will find something out soon so you don't have to worry about it.
  4. Have you contacted the police? The other party probably filed a police report. The police can most likely put you in contact with the other party to exchange insurance information. I would also ask to make sure your child won't be charged with leaving the scene of an accident or misdemeanor hit and run. Also, have you notified your insurance company? I think they have a time limit for reporting accidents (I know mine does).
  5. Have them each bring in a favorite recipe from home and make a little cookbook tied together with yarn. I love handprints on anything. Use washed vegetable cans instead of flower pots, much cheaper. There are Mother's Day and Father's Day coupons on the Internet you can print and have the kids decorate (Father's Day is June 20th this summer, so maybe kids could make a few for Dad while they are at it so they aren't left out). I don't think it matters what you make, moms will love whatever it is.
  6. <CNTRL><ALT><DELETE> twice. lol. (Don't do this if you don't know what it does, lame joke.)
  7. I JUST unplugged, even though I read this earlier. It took hail to convince me.
  8. Not this year, but they have opened the can. Next year, with better planning, we may be gridlocked again. Freaknik is the original Girls Gone Wild.
  9. They aren't robots. They have no mechanical bodies. If they do put this level of AI into robots, we are in trouble.
  10. Yep, there's a "female" named Joan: http://www.icogno.com/joan.html I think there is also a "male" named George. They will take over all the government jobs in the next century.
  11. It can have a normal "conversation" sometimes. When it does, you forget it is a machine. The guy in England made it to try to pass the Turing Test, a challenge to make a computer that was actually "intelligent".
  12. http://www.jabberwacky.com/ Have you ever "talked" to Jabberwacky? This AI software is amazing. It learns human speech patterns by interaction. Do NOT call it a robot or it will insist that you are the bot. This is Jabberwacky today: J: When will you die? Me: I don't know. J: I will tell you, you will die when this conversation ends. That is how you will die. People teach this machine crazy things...
  13. That's what happens when you get old dudes trying to plan college parties. Next year they should check the calendar and try to plan it when colleges actually have spring break.
  14. I wish spirituality and science really did mix like that. I often observe a great gap between the two, especially if people find out the idea of multiverses is tied to Big Bang research. I'm not sure why it is such a surprise for Fox News, or any news outlet, to report this. In essence, they have finally found Schrodinger's Cat. It is no longer a paradox, it is reality. If you apply that idea to spirituality, you will open up a big can of worms... I don't mind people having spiritual or political beliefs until it becomes most of what they are. If you are too much of a political animal
  15. Or Lost. These ideas have been banging around the scientific community for over 50 years. It's great they finally observed it in the lab. We don't even mention the quantum state in most schools in America. We still tell kids there are only 3 subatomic particles and disregard the other 24 fundamental particles. Science education needs an overhaul. We need a little Quantum Mechanics mixed in with our Newtonian Physics.
  16. Is this close? Maybe with some onion powder or sauteed onions? •1 cup yellow mustard •1 cup cider vinegar •1/2 cup white sugar •1/4 cup light brown sugar •1 teaspoon black pepper •1 tablespoon chili powder •1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper •1/2 teaspoon salt •1 tablespoon butter Have you ever tried Alabama white sauce? That is pretty good, too. It sounds a little strange, but I love it on chicken or ribeyes: •1 cup good-quality mayonnaise •1/3 cup apple cider vinegar •1 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar •1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice •1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
  17. Is it like chicken picata? I've never heard of smothered chicken.
  18. Hahaha. You called someone's kid "fat". I can hear the neighbors in the subdivision asking each other, "Was that your fat boy?" Hahaha
  19. http://www.comcast.net/slideshow/news-dangerousstates/ These are comparative stats, a ranking compared to the other states. 1 is worst and 50 is best (lowest in that area of crime). Looks like this is a thieving state overall. #12: Georgia Assault: 20 Burglary: 6 Murder: 8 Motor Vehicle Theft: 6 Rape: 42 Robbery: 7
  20. Haha. Totally true. I've been here a few years longer, but I can still remember living in Douglas County and driving to Hiram and one of the major roads was a dirt road.
  21. Yeah, but you can walk to the Quicky Mart.
  22. I try to stay away from the dealer. I would rather give my business to a small shop/mechanic.
  23. Mine is on my desk somewhere. Why couldn't we just do it online? I am removing as much paper from my life as possible (except the green stuff, I still like that paper).
  24. What neighborhood are the Others coming from, or which street? You should take lawn chairs over and sit on their porches. lol.
  25. Are we at the point in society where we can't have anything for fear of other people who don't recognize rules and laws? Get TOUGH Seven Hills!
