  1. From what they said on Facebook, B3 is already the same size as Dad and still has several more weeks of growing to go. Since female eagles are almost always larger than males, they are making the assumption it's a girl. 'Course, could just be a real hunk of a male too, they can't be sure. I just know I wouldn't be the one to stick my head in that nest to take a look, my nose may be ugly, but it's the only one I have, don't want B3 thinking it's her next meal !!
  2. It would make a really nice dragstrip to replace the old one. That one brought gobs of money into the county every race day.
  3. I'm not normally one that reaches for a lawyer at a drop of the hat, but if that dam was "privately" owned, then it seems to me the owner has a responsibility to maintain it and make sure it's safe. I'd be talking to a lawyer for sure if I had damages like that. Sad part is, if you are not in a registered flood zone, it is dang near impossible to get flood insurance even if you are willing to pay for it. The government subsidizes the idiots that keep building houses on barrier islands in hurricane zones, but won't help in this kind of case. Ridiculous.
  4. And I'd bet that 99% of those polled want someone else to pay for it. Somehow they never quite seem to ask that question.
  5. Just read that the Brits have admitted that 2 of their subs are in the area and searching. Though I have to say I agree with Pubby that I'm not convinced that it's really in that area.
  6. I give it better than 25% chance we know exactly where it is if it's in the water. And if we don't, we know a HUGE are of where it is not. We have a bunch of billion $$$ attack subs whose whole job is to listen to everything for miles around. Their sonar can pick out fish farts for crying out loud. Not sure if they would let the missile subs leave their standard patrol areas, but they are even quieter and can hear even better. Their sonar should be able to pick up a Ping from a transmitter that is WANTING to be found for miles. They can't travel really quick and listen at full
  7. New strip center being built. A dentist and couple of other shops as I recall. It's been asked on here a couple of times in the last couple of weeks.
  8. Thanks Subby - Question for you if you don't mind... on a 2 stoke, when using the primer, I get pure fuel coming up from the tank, but bubbles in the line coming from the carb to the primer bulb. Am I correct in assuming I have a massive air leak in the carb somewhere and it's pretty much toast? Thanks.
  9. We have a Krispy Kreme? Why didn't somebody tell me?
  10. Doesn't do much good for those of us that have older single core machines that: 1) Are not worth the prices they are asking for the Win7 upgrade 2) Wouldn't run worth a carp with Win7 anyway. Guess I'll just use it for off line stuff.
  11. Are you using an old bookmark or typing www.paulding.com in the browser. I had an old bookmark that was pointed to deeper in the old site and it kept failing on me. Perhaps your bookmark is to a specific IP or something. I'd try flushing the cache and doing a direct addressing of the site.
  12. A friend of mine had this problem. He was lucky in a way that his Parents in Law also lived on the property, close to the pole. So he had his service run to their house, then bought enough Fiber optic cable to reach between the houses and 2 Fiber Optic Ethernet extenders. The modem stayed at the PIL house, and the router was at his house. In your case something simpler might work. You would have to install a small cabinet down the driveway before the Ethernet signal runs out, then run power to the cabinet and put the modem there along with some kind of extender. If DSL, you might
  13. Won't have changed a thing unless you hit it. Out hunting with my 50 cal muzzleloader when a dog comes up the deer trail. Shot about 3 ft in front of its nose with that big bullet. He ran off down the gas line. Within an hour he came back down the same blasted trail. Waved him off to not scare the deer again. Won't be as nice next time.
  14. I'm using Firefox and it didn't work for a while, now suddenly it is working right. <Cue spooky music here> I have no idea what changed.
  15. Whew. I'm getting seasick watching the camera right now. Lots of swayin' in the wind!
  16. on the bottom right of the screen of fuzzbutt, hold your mouse near the date on the bottom of the screen, you should see a small square made up of a bunch of little squares pop up with some other stuff. Click that square and you should be given the choice to select the approach camera which is on a post near the tree and lets you see everything around the nest. You can do the same on it's screen to move back to the Fuzzbutt show.
  17. A man was killed in Cartersville Saturday by a train. http://www.ajc.com/news/news/local/cartersville-man-killed-by-train/nfJ2S/ I heard reports of another car being hit in Rockmart Saturday also. Didn't hear of any fatalities with that one thank goodness. Why is it that people won't respect the train tracks? Is it because trains are so enjoyable that we don't think about what they represent? My son has seen many examples of people driving around the lowered guards and flashing lights trying to "Beat" the train. Do they not recognize that they put their life on t
  18. Berry Eagles facebook page says they have been having an odd random issue all day, their tech team is trying to figure it out. Working for me at the moment, though it wasn't earlier.
  19. After following this thing for so long, I have to wonder what's it going to be like when he jumps to the side of the nest, turns around and takes a last look at the camera and says " Good morning, and in case I don't see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and good night!", jumps off and is gone? We may never know what happens to him after that day.
  20. Talked to my son who is a big Rail Fan about it. Unfortunately, none of the fans were around because of the time. Only picture posted right now is the damage to the Engine. According to him, typical response would be that Acworth police calls the CSX switchboard, who patches them through to emergency operations, which then after finding out all the information, has to call the dispatch for the Acworth subdivision, which then had to figure out which train is approaching the area and warn them. This time, the engineer got the message when he was at the other end of the city, doing l
  21. To me, the poll really needs a third option: I am neither for nor against the airport itself, it just is. What I oppose is spending millions of tax dollars on airport Infrastructure for some company to start a business with no guarentees they will stay more than a month or so and may leave us holding the debt with nothing to show for it. If the COMPANY wants to pay for all the improvements needed for them to operate here, that is another discussion to me. If the Business Opportunity is so great, surely the business would be willing to invest itself into the airport. This sh
