After all is said and done, and innocent child was killed for the crime of carrying iced tea, skittles, and being black and a white kid was set on fire for being white. Either way, these acts were senseless and racism contributed to both. This is inexcusable and my heart breaks for both families. As a teacher, I call kids out on racism and bigotry(all kinds) but as I stated earlier, this goes beyond racism and the people behind the heinous acts are deeply disturbed.

These types of attacks go beyond racism. Anybody who would shoot an unarmed teen or set someone on fire has a fu**ing screw loose.

This is horrible and one event doesn't make the other any less significant. However, one main difference is that Zimmerman was a grown man and should have known better.

People in Georgia should stand up over this. I disagree with the tea party but support their right to peacefully assemble and redress their grievances and people should realize when the rights of one group are taken away, it becomes easier to take the rights away from others.

It's easy to insult someone on a message board but much harder in person when you realize they're a person with feelings. I think all of us need to try and realize there is a person on the other end.
