My wife had to go on SSI because of Multiple Sclerosis. Our monthly income declined dramatically; we could still pay our mortgage but things were getting tight. We talked to our bank and provided the documentation they wanted. It was a lengthy process but the bank made a reasonable deal with us and saved us about 200.00 monthly. You did a brave thing, especially for your child. My parents were married almost 35 years and wished they had divorced. It was painful to watch my father treat my mother badly, so you did a wonderful thing for your daughter and she'll be much happier seeing her parents happy.

Contrary to what Guard Dad thinks, I'm used to working hard and can wipe my own ass. However, human beings should be able to use the restroom and eat a meal after putting in an eight hour day. I don't disagree but people should have an 30 minute break when working an 8 hour shift; in many states it is law. However, it seems like we're becoming a third world country. I'm not ok with this.

I remember watching President Obama speak about Gabrielle Giffords and the First Lady was seated next to Mark Kelly, husband of Gabrielle Giffords. Kelly was visibly choked up and Michelle Obama leaned over, giving Kelly a hug. It wasn't a scripted photo op but one human being showing love and compassion toward another. It was a tender, human moment and I think people like Michelle Obama because she comes across as someone who really cares.

Racism and bigotry are a result of ignorance and many people in life are guilty of that. However, when Limbuagh calls Michell Obama "uppity" I can't help but think he's fanning the flames of racism. The comment by an African-American saying Obama will put white people in their place is equally ignorant. However, Limbaugh has a national forum to spew his nonsense, which I think is worse.

Sounds eerily similar to my life and parents. My dad quit drinking when I was 11, but still cheated on and hurt my mother until she died in 1998. I always wished my parents had gotten divorced. It was painful to watch. I'm not very close to my father, nor do I want to be.

Combining weight training and cardio is a good way to go. Weight training is great, especially as we age; it helps with bone density. When I have the time to weight train, I feel much better.
