We went with our Cub Scout Pack a few years ago. They had a great time. Take the guided tour. They explain the ruins that are on the property as well as the history of the gold mine and gold mining in Georigia. Otherwise you won't know what you are looking at when you tour the site... I wouldn't mind going back. It only takes about 1/2 the day to do everything.

No, they just leave them in, until you finish paying for them. Another Orthodontist won't touch them, unless they get a letter from the first ortho saying that everything is OK. And you can't just bring in any old letter and say it is from the first ortho. I don't know all the ins/outs but I know some friends of mine had to bring their girls back every 6 months after they moved out of state to get their braces checked and finally removed. The ortho's in the other state wouldn't touch them...

I am interested in the Black one with calico feet. When would she be ready to pick-up and what part of the county are you in?

I also grew up in Northern Illinois. No, I did not grow up in Chicago (thank GOD!). You would not belive how embedded guns are in the culture of rural Illinois. Everyone I knew had guns, most hunted, some did not. I remember going to school and seeing boys with gun racks in their trucks, with guns in the rack, on school property! As long as the gun stayed in the truck, no one had a problem with them being on school property! I also know my dad and a lot of our neighbors kept shotguns by their backdoors. So it's not just a Southern thing. And by the way, my uncles and cousins, who still

Do you still have the black w/calico feet and is it a male or female? We may be looking for another barn cat, if you don't mind it being a mostly outside cat. If you want them to be indoor only, let me know. We need a kitten to help control the rats/mice, so it would be mostly outdoors...

Anyone eaten at the new restaurant near Kroger
mom2yana replied to juleebella's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I would rather eat at Bayleaf than at Olive Tree. That said, I was rather disapointed with their version of the Gyro. I haven't any idea what the meat was, but I didn't like it. And I thought you couldn't do much to gyro meat to make it baddly, I was wrong. My husband had a different wrap and he liked it. The hummus and Babaganough are very good, although the pita bread that came with the hummus was burned. They need to make sure they don't burn the pita bread when they make it... I hate chared bread and that is what we got. If I had been alone I would have sent it back, but my husband -

We checked into prices for Flute rentals for our student. Paulding Music was renting them for $34.02 for 3 months. The music company the school chose is renting them for $50.00 for 2 months. When I talked to the owner he said that rentals typically will cost you twice what the instrument usually costs (no matter where you go). For example, he could sell us a new flute for $450 or we could rent-to-own for $900. He had several used flutes for sale starting at $269 each. Each used instrument has the recipt listing what was done to each one to repair it, if a repair was needed and how muc

That was almost as good as the the video of the guy who told the telemarketer that he had called 911. It was a break.com video. He really had the telemarketer going. Some may think that this is being mean or something, but some of those telemarketers are really, really pushy and I for one wish I was that creative and could come up with something this good.

At least get your own valuation on the totaled car. The insurance company will NOT offer what it was worth. They will "forget" about any upgrades, the trim line etc. At least the one I was involved in tried to do this to me when my Tahoe was totaled. The insurance company actually pulled up ads for used vehicles on the autotrader.com web site to do the comparison, then they deducted value for everything they could think of. They also had the trim line incorrect and they didn't include some high value add ons, which they said they "didn't know about". With all the bullc&%p they tried

Can't have back-to-school sales in August when the children go back to school on August 1!!!!! Well I guess they could have the back-to-school sales in August, it just wouldn't be as profitable

Crowe, Leggett no show, James calls on Braddock to resign

I know for a fact that Tony and his wife have been caring for a terminally ill friend. He was at the hospital with him yesterday, I do not know if this is where he was at the time of the debate. This person who is terminally ill has no home and no place to go and is illiterate. Tony and his wife have opened their home to him and are taking care of him and his animals. Tony goes to the doctor and hospital with this person so that he can explain what the doctors want to do and to be his advocate. Tony is our next door neighbor and I will be voting for him for Commissioner Chair. Tony -

Check the web site and then visit a several of the troops. Make more than one visit per troop. Each troop has it's own "character". Some are more active than others, some go camping more, some go hiking more. So try to find one that does the things he is interested in. He'll figure out pretty quickly where he feels the most comfortable! Also, Pickett's Mill will be having their spring Camporee in March, if he hasn't decided on a troop by then, have him visit with several of the troops on Saturday. More information on this event should be on the web site. One last thing, your son can ch

I officially feel old today, less than a month past
mom2yana replied to LPPT's topic in RECENT TOPICS
My husband just got his first letter from them yesterday... He turned 50 last month. I just told him to put the stuff in the burning barrel and burn it, that it wasn't worth the paper and ink it cost to print it. They are a very, very left leaning organization. I comforted him by letting him know that I used to get letters from them asking me to join their organization when I was in my late 20's and early 30's. I started getting letters from them after I subscribed to a couple of craft magazines. I guess they figured that anyone who subscribed to counted cross-stitch magazines, must -
Did your parents divorce while you were living at home?
mom2yana replied to Gipper Girl Rocks's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Mine divorced when I was 12. Lived with mom for a year, then she shipped us back to dad. Best thing that ever happened to us (being sent to live with dad). Mom remarried and divorced again, dad never married again (he says he's still looking ) One brother divorced his first wife and is remarried. My other brother and sister are still married to their first spouses. Both my husband and I have ex's. No kids from our first marriages. We have been married for 13 years now. My husband's parents were divorced after he graduated from high school and was out on his own. His mom never -
Yes, you just wrap the apple with the sheet of caramel. Just make sure the sheet is room temp before you try to work with it. If it isn't, you can warm it up in your hands while you are wrapping the apple... When I made them, I would put the center of the sheet over the stem, insert the stick and then start wrapping the caramel around the apple... The stick helps to hold the caramel in place while you start the wrapping.

Makes me glad we have a well. We do have to replace the pump occasionally, which is a hassle, but it sounds like having county water is even more of a hassle. Good luck getting your bills straightened out.

We have given up on eating any Mexican in Paulding county. We have had stomach problems after eating at all of them (except the new one Huey something). And yes, we can trace it right back to each time we at one of the Mexican resturants. And since we had dinner at a Mexican place in Huntsville over Labor Day Weekend, we know it is not just Mexican food in general. No problems after eating at that one.

Can someone explain the reasoning in widening Bill Carruth Pkwy?
mom2yana replied to tbird's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Too bad we didn't have the inside scoop and knowledge to get that land cheep, so we could sell it high! Isn't that some of the same crap that got what's his name tossed after the courthouse tajmajhal was built? Cronies, buddies and family buying property cheep, cause they knew that the property was being looked at by the county and by potential buyer's like WellStar? It may be legal, but it sure stinks, worse even than the stinky fields in high summer!!!! If it had been stocks, it would be called "insider trading" and they would have gotten fined heavily and maybe even spent some time in j -
We don't have and don't want any credit cards. That's why we use debit cards and cash. It was convenient, we never overspent our budget and never had cc fees or interest. But I guess that will be going away. Back to the good old days of writing checks or having cash on hand for everything!

Any good Army surplus store will sell it. I've seen it at both Hodges and the place behind the coke plant. They both carry a variety of colors. They sell it in 50' and 100' foot bundles and on spools. I don't know how much is on a spool. To me, Hodges is more fun to explore... They carry stuff the other place does not. If you want a better selection of colors, you will want to go on-line. The surplus stores tend to carry only the most popular colors... E-bay has lots of people selling it. Or you can google "paracord" or "550 cord" and you will get lots of companies that sell it.

High School Son Needs a Physical and I am broke!
mom2yana replied to GreenThumbsnButterfingers's topic in RECENT TOPICS
Sometimes they will have "fairs" where they do the pysicals for free or not much money ($15-25). You could check with your son's school and see if they do this and if they are going to do it anytime soon or if they know of any place that will be doing this. I think NPHS had one last spring, I remember seeing signs in the school. I didn't pay much attention to them, but the price seemed to be lower than Walgreen's. A spring one won't do you any good, but they might do something like that in the fall in addition to the spring. Other than that, Walgreens generally has the lowest price I've s -
