  2. Sounds like he had the teacher my daughter had for her 3rd grade year. She taught at Abney for 1 year and then moved to another school last year. This teacher at the begining of the school year decided that my daughter was too young to be in her class and just destroyed her self esteeme and confidence. We spent most of March and April (before the test) telling her that she has good grades, and that she would do well on the CRCT. We also did not stress over the test, just reassured her that she would do well. She made over 850 on 3 of the 5 CRCT tests, had 840's for the other two tests
  3. My kids have eczema, so they have never gotten a bath or shower every day, usually they bathe once or twice a week. If they have bug spray or sun tan lotion on they get a shower, but we don't use that stuff every day, so they don't get a shower everyday. It is soooooo, bad for your skin to bathe so often. Most people should only bathe every other day at the most. The more you wash yourself, the more oil your skin and hair makes. Your skin is trying to make up for you removing it's natural defenses. I have heard so many people complain about their bad, dry (or oily) skin and how th
  4. This may sound stupid, but I have no idea who the sponsor is for this. Where and when can we drop off items? Who is getting the list of children together? How is eligibility being determined? How are the items going to be distributed? Thanks!
  5. We've got 2 puppies (4 months old) who came out from under the porch to watch the fireworks! They just sat in the yard watching them. We never saw the oldest dog. The year old dogs, were in and out. The male was more concerned about trying to catch the kittens than he was about the fire works. Silly dog, the cats are ON the porch, he can't get to them from UNDER the porch. So, no barking dogs for us!! Just 2 curious puppies out watching the light show!!! and 3 adults under the porch... Normally, they all sleep under the porch!
  6. I don't shop or go to Douglas County for any reason if I can help it! and their speed traps are the reason. I got pulled over on that hill on 92, just north of the RR tracks. I was slowing down (had been stopped on that hill before and I was very careful about speed) and the car in front of me was a Cady, who was pulling away from me and speeding up. Guess who got the ticket, me in the pickup truck who was slowing down. I wouldn't be so mad if the judge hadn't lied to me. He said that if I paid the ticket and "was a good girl for 6 months" (IE, wasn't caught speeding in his county again
  7. Well what else do you expect from a company that employs mostly H1B visa workers! Indian nationals do not know what is appropriate in our culture! And most of them don't want to know!
  8. If you mean a dirt motorcycle, ignore the following, if you mean dirt bicycle, read on!!!! Paulding SORBA (Southern Off Road Bicycle Association) has several trails that they are working on here in Paulding County. I do not know if they are officially open yet. A beginner's trail is almost complete at Mt. Tabor Park. This park will have some other more advanced trails built in the near future. There is also a trail that runs parallel to the Silver Comet Trail. I believe that they are also trying to get some trails built at Sara Babb Park and possibly at some of the other parks. Thei
  9. I hate 3-D movies. I have never been able to see them correctly. I also hate putting those 3-D glasses over my prescription glasses. We wait until they come out on DVD, then I can watch the movie WITHOUT the crappy 3-D effects!!!! Even the kids don't like to watch a movie in 3-D very often. When they decide to watch a movie that gives them a choice at home, more often than not they watch it without the 3-D effects. We go to the free movies, but there is not a choice in what you get to see. There is a schedule on the web site for each theatre that has them listed. If you want to se

  12. The AJC said that a tornado was spotted near Cedartown, heading for Rockmart. And another possible one in Euharlee (near Cartersville)...
  13. We are in New Hope. My husband found some larger ones, but I didn't get any pictures!! We actually had two "waves" of hail. The first wave had all the big stuff. Then while I was outside taking pictures, we got hit with another wave of much smaller hail. I took this picture while the second wave of hail was still falling:
