  1. I greatly appreciate the fact that you take the parental responsibility of monitoring what your child watches in your home. This is what all good parents should be doing. I have no children in my home, therefore there's no need for proactive censorship.
  2. Are they asking for any up front or even hidden fees? Does she already have a portfolio? How was she approached by this agency? What is being offered in the terms of the contract? How long ago did they make the offer?
  3. I got married while my husband was on delayed entry, as an E2. We were poor, but I didn't work for the 7 years we were married. Life was all about raising small children and making personal sacrifices. Dgitw knows of what she speaks. My "daughter" got married to avoid living on the barge in Chesapeake. She's Navy. Thankfully its working out for her. Regardless, finding work is hard, but doable. It might not be in your desired or degreed field, and you may have to move or make other personal sacrifices.....but unless you give 100% you might as well get used to your present circumstance. C
  4. Or....maybe there's no one on here that has any experience with the company you've mentioned? Isn't that what you asked for?
  5. Hmmm. It's never been hard for me to explain safe sex to my kids. Can't get much safer than having sex alone!
  6. Twice a month I go up to Shannon Ga to visit the great aunt of a dear friend who has moved from the area. I take her groceries, change her bedding, now her lawn, and spend about an hour visiting with her. Although she's no relation to me, I love her like a grandmother and cherish my Sundays with her. I sincerely hope that the OP can find someone to not only volunteer for, but grow to love as well.
  7. I wear a bracelet every day that's inscribed with the words, live your dash. Have you read the book? I recently had the pleasure of meeting the author. She was gracious enough to come for a visit after seeing my friend read her poem, The Dash, at her father's funeral service, via YouTube. Linda Ellis was gracious enough to bring a few autographed books and hang out with us for the evening. Regardless of where you may never go.....keep living your dash, my friend!!!!
  8. So, by not voting, one gives up their freedom of speech? In which elections? All of them? I disagree wholeheartedly with your sentiment.
  9. Not even close. Those who know me, outside of this website, know exactly who I do and do not run around with.
  10. In light of the fact that there are no voting polls open this July 4th.....and because I work for an English company, I'll spend the day behind my desk, doing what I do on any other Wednesday. Except checking the mail. The weekend before will probably be spent at Cades Cove with some of the guys I'm just friends with. The weekend after will hopefully be spent drinking beer, grilling, and shooting off fireworks, irresponsibly. There will be a special memorial service held in my backyard on Tuesday the 3rd, to honor my dog that was killed last year by my neighbors pit bulls. I'll worry about
  11. I *am* a girly girl, and have quite a few male friends. One of whom happens to be in Dubai for the next two years, but our friendship has lasted 20 years so far with no hanky panky. Distance isn't the only thing that's kept us platonic. We lived together twice, and he was present for the birth of both of my youngest children. We've both been married and divorced, shared heartaches over the loss of mutual friends, leaned on each other, learned from each other, wiped tears, and shared beers. He is my oldest friend. There's also a certain guy that I met on pcom whom I consider one of my best fr
  12. I'm neither and the above statement makes no sense. How are porn stars not real?
  13. I'm confused. is SSI something you get instead of SSD, or in addition to? "Social Security Disability Insurance pays benefits to you and certain members of your family if you are "insured," meaning that you worked long enough and paid Social Security taxes. Supplemental Security Income pays benefits based on financial need." based on the above, i can see where the representative would ask about who you live with and his income.
  14. do some research. but i warn you, the christians did some gruesome and bloody things, on a massive scale. makes me look twice at the hwy miles adopted by them...
  15. am i the only person who read the word "attempting" in the article?
  16. Sonofatruckingbitch!!!! I guess I'll just hafta resume hosting the 'group' meetings at my secret club house instead of local park benches. Dammit!!!!! Ps. I say piss on prosecuting folks for thought crimes. I should be able to think and feel whatever I damn well please. So long as I don't discriminate against anyone or spew hate speech....who cares if I hate redheaded Japanese midgets?????
  17. If you are threatening to leave your husband over the choice of his church....be careful. Usually when given an ultimatum, I tend to call bluffs. Make sure you're really gonna call it quits and walk away if he chooses the church.
  18. I don't think that a persons marriage should ever hinge on the choice of a church... She goes to hers, you go to yours, and what? That means your marriage is doomed?
  19. Encouraging, condoning, and/or bragging about vandalizing stayed govt property says a lot about a person.
  20. Let the wife have the church. Find a hobby to occupy your free time. Goose/gander.
  21. Gap insurance also comes in handy when dealing with a wrecked new car. Check with the dealership to see if a gap policy was purchased when you bought your car. Either way, I sure hope someone pays up!!! Hope you're back to 100% real soon!
