  1. I have a question about government assistance. I have no problem with people getting TEMPORARY assistance when needed and a lot of the time it is really needed. But of course you have those who work and manipulate the system to get something for nothing just because they can and don't want to better themselves because it's easier to cash a check that someone just gives you. This is my question.......I know 2 different people, both with 4 year college degrees, that purposely CHOSE jobs making less than $14,000.00 a year, when other much more lucrative jobs were offered, just to go to wo
  2. When my MIL needed rehab after surgery, we checked out several places. The best one we visited was Presbyterian Village on the East West connector, but it was very, very expensive. Of the other 4, Paulding was by far the best. The staff was caring and helpful and the on staff drs. always seemed concerned and willing to answer any questions we had. Between all of her family and friends, we were there at all hours of the day from early morning to late into the evening. This isn't an easy decision to make, good luck.
  3. I agree. The paranoid ones scare me so much more than 'big brother'.
  4. If he wants to donate according to the behaviors of the people who work at thrift stores, he needs to AVOID SVDP thrift across from the Catholic church. There is a woman who works there, a volunteer I'm sure, who is one of the rudest people I've ever come into contact with. I've been several times and 4 of those times this woman was jaw droppingly rude. I was there with middleschooler last November, he was wearing a camo jacket with a hood and as we were checking out she said to him, 'Did you wear that jacket in or did you take it off of one of my racks'? Besides being really pi$$ed, I was stu
  5. :good: Master Key rocks. We've been there for 2 1/2 years and middleschooler loves it. He received his black belt in February.
  6. I'm a female. I open doors for all kinds of people all the time. Common courtesy shouldn't be a gender thing.
  7. Why would any retail establishment allow ANYONE to harass their customers? Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of places in Hiram/Dallas that fills the need of TS, so I guess their patrons are over a barrel. So not cool.
  8. And the RedState, a conservative political blog by Eric Erickson, would never skew the facts to fit his own agenda just to cause outrage.
  9. I think Wendy Williams is really a man. SCARY! Yep, she's the one with all the money, so that's who will be targeted. DING, DING, DING!! Question of the day.
  10. Love Paula Deen!! I firmly believe that this is much ado about nothing. If her name wasn't a household word, no one would give a flying rats a$$ what she said. And not one person anywhere that can say that at one time or another they haven't used a slur of some sort when commenting on another race, black or otherwise. I wouldn't apologize to anyone if I were her and Food Network has cut off their own nose to spite their face by caving to this silliness and refusing to renew her contract. But in the end, Miss Deen will be just fine, the people with brains can see this for what it is and pa
  11. Leave it in the cart for scanning.
  12. This is going to be very politically incorrect, but oh well. This loser needs to be punched in the face by a true Purple Heart recipient. What a di@k!
  13. Why are people so mean? I don't recall this kind of thing when I was in high school. Of course, that was in the stone ages.
  14. He looked at me like I had two heads and he was SOOO offended. I wanted to kick him in the leg!!
  15. That's why Hubby and I barely drink. We think from the back end of the situation........what if something happens to our son or anybody else, they need to go to the hospital and we're both too sloshed to take him? If Hubby has a beer or two, I certainly don't drink. And in the long ago past, if we went out and I had a drink, he didn't drink. I astounds me when we're out and see another family and both adults are drinking, I see it all the time. Who the HE!! is driving home and taking care of the kids?
  16. OMG!!! This happened to me today!! It was my turn to head toward the window, one car from each lane takes turns making a single file line again to get to the window and 3 cars from one side went, while I sat there waiting to take my turn. A$$hats!
  17. Yup, I'm 5'1" and I asked a man, a very tall man, if he would hand me something off of the top shelf in the grocery store not long ago and he rudely said, 'I don't work here lady'. I was stunned. Then a nice teenaged boy offered to get it for me.
  18. I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one who felt this way, but I'm glad you posted first. His so called 'friends' didn't kill him, they just didn't get aid when he needed it, which they should have. But, if he hadn't have been doing drugs, none of this would be an issue. People are so misguided when doing drugs they think anyone who will provide a high is a 'friend'. Not so apparently. A true friend would have called 911 regardless of the possibility of getting caught. But considering they were most likely high too, they made the wrong decision and a man died. But, once again, if he ha
  19. Oh no, not the same at all. Unfortunately, I believe that's true as well.
  20. That is the same young man that was posted about at Clark Funeral Home a week or so ago. I wondered what happened because he was so young. Sad.
