  1. Envy is not part of my make up, AT ALL, but I do envy your sense of adventure, something that I DO NOT possess. I won't move across town, much less to another country. I hope that this move is everything that you hope for and that it exceeds your wildest dreams. I'm happy that you have the moxy to pull up roots and go live your dream. I hope it's better than you ever imagined.
  2. EXACTLY. There IS NO WAY that this was OKed by anyone. Any person who has ever graduated or has had a child graduate, KNOWS that you are cautioned about a billion times NOT to embellish your cap and gown, NOT to dance, NOT to high 5 anyone, NOT to do ANYTHING but to reverently walk across the stage, get your diploma, shake the principals hand and go quietly back to your seat. Maybe every graduate in this class should have done the same thing, the ceremony would have only lasted 6 or 7 hours. But so what, why should any kind of decorum be followed, they're just rules, break 'em all. Dance,
  3. These kinds of stories go straight to the question that so many seem to be asking, 'What is wrong with our kids today'? IMO, not holding them responsible when they BREAK THE RULES has a lot to do with it. A feather in the tassel, dancing on the stage, etc. 'So what, it was a feather'. BROKEN RULE. 'So what, he danced on the stage'. RULE BREAKING. Good idea, toss the rules, no one follow any of them. Don't be a 'good sheepie', which I was called in another thread, be a rule breaker and watch society speed further to He!! in a hand basket faster than we already are. When you have paren
  4. WRONG. I guess if I choose not to murder, rob and riot, I'm a good sheepie too. Rules are rules, your children aren't expected to follow rules? They must be real joys to be around.
  5. DITTO, DITTO, DITTO to every word.........we really are the same person!!!!! Are unusually rude? Or just stupid? Just wondering.
  6. We're at the other end of Old Cartersville and we can't hear the sirens when there is bad weather.
  7. But she was told not to. The end. Period. She broke the rules and granted the punishment seems a bit much, but if she hadn't have broken the rules, no punishment would have been necessary.
  8. I do agree with that. When both of our daughters graduated, they had monitors and 'dress checks' up until the moment they were to walk out and if anyone was not up to code, they couldn't walk. They were simply pulled out of the line, but luckily, it was never a problem. Rule following 101 should be taught in all schools.
  9. Maybe, but I doubt it. I'm Native American as well and at graduation, albeit it was many years ago, we were told and told and told and told and told not to embellish our graduation regalia with ANYTHING other than what we were given. Guess what? No one did, we all followed the rules. Imagine that!!?? Can you imagine if everyone in a graduating class, regardless the size, 'bedazzled' their caps and gowns at will? It is supposed to be a somber and time honored ceremony, not a costume party. She could have just as easily pinned a feather to the inside of her cap, gown or her clothing und
  10. A friend of Hubbys got throat cancer from dip as well, at least that's what the dr said.
  11. I guess his smoking didn't contribute to it at all. Yea, right.
  12. We can't hear any sirens at our house, so we rely on Glen and 911 daughter to keep us updated.
  13. West Metro has the best meat in town and as of two days ago, they are still noticeably less than Publix, Kroger, Sams or Walmart.
  14. The more I thought about this the more it seems that something is strange about this entire situation, so I'm glad you posted this. I can't understand why she would meet him at a safe location and then get in his car and go anywhere with him. And then he returns her to her car, AFTER he rapes and abuses her, with the idea that she isn't going to tell anyone? Somethings off here and the last line of your post crossed my mind as well.
  15. I'll give you a super easy recipe, not with curd, but pretty darn good. For Cake: 1 plain yellow cake mix 1 package lemon jello 4 eggs 3/4 cup water 3/4 cup veg oil 1 1/2 tbs pure lemon extract For glaze: juice of 1 lemon 3/4 to 1 stick butter 1 cup confectioners sugar Mix all ingredients for cake together until smooth, pour into prepared bundt pan and bake on 325* for 45 or so minutes, until firm and toothpick comes out clean. For glaze; melt butter, add lemon juice and conf. sugar until very, very smooth. I put the cake on a cooling rack over a bowl and slow
  16. I will look for the recipe on Foodnetwork for you because Ina Garten, AKA the Barefoot Contessa, made something very similar to this the other day. Here's the recipe for the lemon curd: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/lemon-curd-recipe/index.html Here's one for a lemon tart:http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/lemon-curd-tart-recipe/reviews/index.html Good luck, it sound YUMMY!!
  17. Yea, I got that too, I thought it was weird.
  18. I'm not sure you have any recourse except for small claims court. At least they fixed your truck, I've heard of this happening and the culprit refused to fix the damaged vehicle......they didn't do it ya' know.
  19. While I was looking forward to the ensuing battle, I'm glad the mods are on the ball and nipped that nonsense in the bud and killed the troll.
  20. I live in Paulding county and have had 5 yard sales in 16 years, never had a permit once and never got a ticket.
