1novella
From this day to the ending of the world, But we in it shall be remembered- We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother....... RIP We walked among the crosses Where our fallen soldiers lay. And listened to the bugle As TAPS began to play. The Chaplin led a prayer We stood with heads bowed low. And I thought of fallen comrades I had known so long ago. They came from every city Across this fertile land. That we might live in freedom. They lie here 'neath the sand. I felt a little guilty My sacrifice was small. I only lost a little time But these men lost their all. Now the services are over For this Memorial Day. To the names upon these crosses I just want to say, Thanks for what you've given No one could ask for more. May you rest with God in heaven From now through evermore. mmadison85
My prayers are with this young mans family and friends he was so young but yet he died for all of us. I don't know this family but can't help but think his mom was in Verizon the other day when I was in there. Only because she was so excited because her son was over in Afghanistan and was able to buy a cell phone she was so happy to be able to talk to him! I'm sure she kept saying his name was Ryan and that the young kid helping her knew him from school (he looked early 20s). If this was his family I could tell in his mommas’ voice that she was so proud of him!! My thoughts and prayers go out to you, you have beeon on my mind all day! And dear God, please keep those who are still serving safe. It may be selfish on my part, but I pray that not another soldier falls. But if it happens, may it lead to peace and freedom for many. +subby1
While no doubt this is hard for the family and being so close to home for us all, he gave more for his country than the rest of us have, and God Bless him!!! I'm sure there's a top seat in Heaven for a man with such bravery and love for a country who loves its freedom. Rest In Peace, my fellow man! Prayers to the family. I can't imagine losing a child, but if I ever did, I can't think of a more noble way to sacrifice so much for the safety of a whole country. May God Bless you and your family. He has my honor and respect, and should have everyone else's too. I don't have the words to express my gratitude for the men in uniform......those people who chose to do their best to make sure we're all safe, while holding down our greatest trait as Americans....FREEDOM. cmahunter
PLEASE READ - FLAG LINE NEEDED I have been on the phone and have made arrangements with officials to have this soldier routed through Hiram on Hwy 278. His estimated arrival time in Hiram will be approximately 12pm. I have already notified Hiram Police that we will be standing roadside honoring this soldier as he comes home to Paulding County. On a side note there will be a large benefit charity ride staging in the K-Mart S/C. I organized this ride as well. I will be postponing this ride to stand guard as this soldier passes by. Please come and join our efforts. Bring Your Flags
