  1. And yet...the example in the article quoted above was a 27-year-old deli owner from White Plains, N.Y., who had about $10,000 in old debts and a credit rating 200 points below "good." Apples aren't oranges. But you know that Pubby, right?
  2. Why not just teach kids to eat their veggies? I'm sure there's a whole lot more good nutritional content in a serving of cauliflower than there is in a serving of mac-n-cheese with cauliflower powder sneaked into it. Just sayin'. Parents say, "My kids won't eat anything but chicken nuggets, mac-n-cheese, and chocolate chip cookies." And why would that be?
  3. Bussey/Haggard episode will premiere tomorrow night at 9:00 on ABC. We were typing at the same time! I can't imagine those two swapping lives even for a day--much less a week! It should be entertaining, at the least. Tonight was neat--each family learned something positive from the other family. That's what I like about the show. They do bring complete opposites together, and usually (not always), good things come out of that difference. But the pairing tomorrow night is hard to wrap your head around, right?
  4. I watched!! I thought it was GOOD! And just so folks know--I do believe Haggard and Bussey will be tomorrow night, NOT next week. I about busted a rib laughing when I saw who they'd matched up! It should be an interesting swap, for SURE!!
  5. Doesn't seem like it would be much of a problem if people didn't make a habit of buying things on credit that they can't afford in the first place. (NOT that I think it's right for banks and creditors to "conspire" against consumers...but really...how hard is it to say NO to things you obviously can't afford?) So who is it that's "taking advantage"? >>shrug<<
  6. We're under a wind advisory, with winds from the NW at 10-20 MPH with gusts up to 35 MPH until 1:00 AM Tuesday. It's sounding like the gazebo on my patio might take flight!
  7. They will be in my thoughts. Sounds like she's a strong little girl!
  8. And I "shared" that I don't "care" about Adam Lambert's personal life! No confusion about the two...just sharing!
  9. Liking his voice and caring that he was arrested in Finland for a drunken bar brawl have nothing to do with one another.
  10. Why yes, yes they are!! This is a goofyish picture of my youngest son. He got the "honker" too! I've never been sure exactly who he resembles...but I've always thought he looks a lot like my mom:
  11. Yep!! I think my daughter and I have similar eyes and smiles. The noses are completely different. I have a honker (so does my son, bless him!), and she has a cute little nose!
  12. Thank you, RhondaW! Your kids are gorgeous, too!! And your son looks like your clone! It took my breath away when I realized how much my son looked like my dad. I always thought he looked more like his dad, but after my dad passed away, my uncle sent me a bunch of pictures of my dad when he was younger--about my son's age. And I was just completely blown away at how much he looked just like my dad. I never saw it. But it's just creepy...they look just alike. And friends of my daughter always know me when they meet me, even if my daughter isn't there when I meet them. They're li
  13. I'm such a sucker for these singing shows! So yeah, I'll likely be there for it, or here. I love music, and I have two kids who are musicians, so I really do enjoy the shows. But I'd never want my kids to be on one of them. It's either the road to success or the kiss of death, and sometimes, which way that pendulum swings makes absolutely no sense!
  14. I was driving on I20 during the TORRENTIAL RAIN this evening, around 6:00. The general flow of traffic was about 40 mph. However, I think I must have met the same ENTITLED person attempting to go 70 when EVERYONE else was going 40. And weaving in and out of traffic. Cutting people off and generally just being an a$$. I mean, really? Couldn't you have left earlier or something? Really? Visibility was down to about 10%, but you acted like it was a clear, sunny day. I hope you made it to wherever it was you were going in such a hurry. And I hope you were REALLY LATE getting
  15. This could be fascinating if we could combine this thread with the Adam Lambert thread...
  16. Trying...trying...trying...to care... Nope. Can't do it.
  17. ADDING: I also loved Stacy. She just was so unpredictable, vocally. I hope she does well, too. You just HAD to love her...she was one of the "older" folks. And when she was on it, she could SING!
  18. Simon was wrong to send her home. She's clearly talented. I suspect that was orchestrated TV drama. She was great right out of the box. She, Josh, and Chris were always my favorites! And I was good with any of them winning. Josh was the biggest surprise...here's this guy who (apparently) lives in his Mom's basement and worked at a pizza place...and then he started to sing, and it was just amazing!! Good show. Thanks for sharing it with me here on pcom, folks!
