  1. I get really tired of picking that "newspaper" up off my driveway every damn week. What a waste of newsprint. It goes straight into the dumpster. I wish there were a way to put a stop to them littering the neighborhoods. They are so stupid that they even throw copies on the driveways of obviously vacant houses. Can you tell that's one of my pet peeves?
  2. That's why I call them ComCrooks. I "had" the whole enchilada from them, TV, phone, and internet at my business. I could absolutely count on at least one internet outage per day, usually right at the time I was doing something critical. I switched to another provider about a year ago, and haven't had a single outage during that whole time. And for less money every month.
  3. The last occupant was a "handyman". Not only did they take the toilets, they took the mirrors out of the bathrooms, a vanity out of a half-bath, all the light fixtures inside and out, all the appliances, a bunch of doorknobs, a couple of doors, and no telling what else damage was done. The floor joists in the basement are already black with mold in the area underneath the master bath. According to an online records search, the mortgagee is "Fifth Third Bank", which I think is another of the Freddie/Fannie favorite players for underqualified buyers. That house doesn't nee
  4. Well, it's happened again. For the third time in 9 1/2 years, the house next door has foreclosed. The latest occupants were obvious beneficiaries of Barney Frank and Chris Dodd's legislation. But we won't go there for the purposes of this discussion. The vacant property was left unsecured, and we had an interest in seeing what the overall condition was with an eye toward a possible purchase for a rental property/flip. Imagine my surprise to walk through find out that the previous people had taken the freakin' toilets with them when they moved out. Didn't even stuff a rag int
  5. Here's the solution: Drill HERE, Drill NOW. Pay LESS.
  6. I've had more than 20 kidney stones. The smaller ones that I could/did pass were excruciating while they were in the ureter (the tube from the kidney to the bladder). Once they are in the bladder, they will pass with not much discomfort. The pain you are describing sounds like a larger stone that may still be in the kidney. The stone may have blocked the "drain" into the ureter, and the kidney is filling with urine, thus the pain. I found that if I laid on a sofa and threw my leg (on the affected side) up and over the back of the sofa, I could position myself in a way that the stone wou
  7. I had to go back and read this three times and check the authorship. For a hardcore liberal like Eym Sirius to be espousing these conservative values is just nothing short of amazing. I'm telling you that whichever GOP candidate makes this argument in the 2012 elections is going to win in a landslide. Another issue that is rarely discussed is the flow of US dollars sent back "home" by the illegals to support a family elsewhere. If the money-launderers like Western Union and the Hispanic check-cashing places (like the one across the street from the Big Chicken) were prohibited from tra
  8. The vast majority of which have a "D" following their name.
  9. Lots of logging begun at the corner of E Paulding and 92. Anybody know what they might be building there?
  10. Anybody remember the muslim massacre at Ft. Hood a few months ago? A famous quote from General George Armstrong Custer comes to mind: "The only good Muslim is....."
  11. The more I have read about these two candidates, the more I long for a ballot option of "none of the above". I just may write Glenn Richardson in as a protest vote.
  12. I had to go take some Dramamine. I was dizzy from all the spin.
  13. Let me slide? OK, Pat, whatever. You are beginning to sound like Robert Gibbs in training with all the spin. Aren't you getting dizzy? If I had the luxury of picking and choosing what cases I wanted to prosecute and which ones I was willing to let languish, I'd have a 100% conviction rate, and I'm not even an attorney. Now, if you add back the 3000 or more cases that DL has just let expire because of his dilatory lack of action, and the 2500 or so that are still in the system, that alleged conviction rate of his is down in the teens. That one capital murder case could have been won by a fi
  14. I'll take a bit of DD's alleged vindictiveness over the incumbent's incompetence and negligence in office any day.
  15. In the previous DA contest 4 yrs ago, I became acquainted with and supported a candidate named Clark(?) who was in the contest against Lane and Donovan. He had more credentials than DD and DL combined in terms of prosecutorial experience. I put his sign up in my yard. Donovan was doing a door-to-door on my street one evening during that primary. Even though he knew which candidate I was supporting, he still approached me and was cordial and personable. My opinion about this current race? ANYBODY BUT THE INCUMBENT!!!
  16. The "I" is for INCUMBENT. Which, in and of itself, is reason enough to vote another way. Especially in the DA's race. On second thought, in that case, the "I" stands for INCOMPETENT.
  17. My exact thoughts. I know I wouldn't be a very sympathetic member of any jury.
  18. EXACTLY!!! It's the safest and best way. Lubricate the outer part of the cutter with some soapy water or glass cleaner.
  19. In this case, it was on the opposite side from her lap....
  20. We have B$ DSL. Wen the temp drops, we intermittently lose connection. In the summer, everything is good. I have a friend who works for B$ in the DSL department. He has spent hours trying to track where the cable pair is losing connection. He calls it a "high open"... which is telephone-speak for "when it gets cold, the wire shrinks and loses contact at some terminal somewhere." B$ has switched wire pairs from the house to the terminal pylon in the front yard, switched cable pairs from the pylon all the way back to the DSLAM at E Paulding and 92. And still the problem persists. I h
  21. Oh, Gawd! Please tell us that King Jerry isn't coming out of retirement.
  22. It also works to reinforce the overall laziness of the Marshal's office. Name me one other (supposed) law enforcement agency that is totally reactive instead of proactive? I wonder how many times they have driven in front of GLARING violations such as these and not enforced the LAW because "nobody complained"? I mean, hey, the HOT sign is flashing at Krispy Kreme. We can't be bothered by property values plummeting ! And the PCSO plays politics and disclaims any responsibility for enforcing the county ordinances because that is the "Marshal's job". If you do manage to get the Marshal t
  23. As you face that house, the two or three to it's immediate left have become junk heaps, too. And on the same side of E. Paulding, between hwy 92 and the High School, there is one place that must have 100 black garbage bags piled on the front porch.
  24. I wouldn't have been a bit surprised if the address had been listed as E Paulding Drive, between 120 and Brooks Rackley Rd. That gateway into Paulding has turned into an eyesore.
  25. Well, I knew it was too heavy to lift, but I tried, anyway. POP! went the hernia. Any recommendations for any good surgeons that are NOT affiliated with Wellstar? Preferably at Piedmont or St. Joes. Please PM me if you have any names to AVOID.
