  1. Just a reminder that there is a big difference between expulsions and suspensions. Either way I think it ought to result in them not participating in the graduation ceremony. Frankly, I'd like to see those little a-holes out in the middle of Dragstrip Rd on their hands and knees with toothbrushes and a couple of gallons of real smelly paint remover, while their classmates are graduating. Think there'd be an object lesson there for the Junior class?
  2. You went to high school in Conception Junction, MO? LOL The toughest headline I ever had to write as a sports desk reporter while working on my journalism degree at Mizzou was during the MO high school basketball finals, when the Class A finalists were ( drum roll, please)...Conception Junction and Climax Springs.
  3. Wouldn't be surprised if there isn't another "discrimination" card up somebody's sleeve just waiting to get played. Just sayin'.
  4. This entire debacle shouldn't be too surprising. With EPHS glorifying criminality by having a "pirate" as a mascot/symbol, is there not just a teeny subliminal suggestion that the school (the student body and administration) is somehow bigger than or outside of the accepted norms of behavior? We'll "raid your ship neighborhood, sail away in the night, and catch us if you can."? When you are a "Tiger" or a "Lion" or a "Brave" or a "Patriot" or a "Gamecock" or a "Seminole" or a "Gator" it gives off an entire different aura than walking around with the image representation of a criminal em
  5. As a resident of the subdivision directly across the street, and therefore an "owner" (through the homeowner's association) of the affected subdivision signage, I have a different point of view. I read most of the posts in this thread, and as far as I could tell, none of the posts were from citizens who are actually affected. Having lived across the street from EPHS for 10 years, I can tell you first handed that the administration there could give a crap about the neighborhood. I've lost count of the times that I've complained about students parking on our residential street instead of th
  6. Uhhh, last time I looked, we taxpayers paid for the paving. That made it "government property".
  7. Apples and Oranges. Homeowners are, generally speaking, better insurance risks than renters. Older, more stable, etc. In addition, having one customer with multiple policies gives a lower administrative cost to the company. If the company (any company) wants to place requirements on what risks they are willing to insure, that is their right. I've had USAA for nearly 30 years, and just recently they refused to renew my motorcycle policy, as they were not going to insure anything in that particular market in the future. I deal with insurance companies every day to get auto
  8. The glass company I own does chip repairs. We do hundreds of them every year. I think we did 3 just yesterday. Here are the facts about auto glass repair/replacement as far as insurance is concerned. That coverage is part of your comprehensive policy. With the notable exception of StateFarm, all insurance companies will waive your deductible for a chip repair and pay the shop directly at a previously agreed upon rate. I get paid anywhere from $50 to $65 per chip, depending on the carrier. There are no insurance carriers that I know of that will approve a repair without first having tal
  9. Tebow is an accomplished athlete. He still has a long way to go to be a Pro Bowler. I'm guessing there's a few teams out there that would like to have him on their roster. I think Tebow's biggest football handicap going forward is John Fox, the coach in Denver. Fox proved he didn't have a clue how to coach a NFL team when he was at Carolina. I wonder what would happen if Tebow had a coach like Bill Cowher or Tony Dungy? Look what Dungy did with Peyton Manning, who wasn't nearly the athlete that Tebow is, IMO. In one of the pregame shows yesterday, there was a piece about some youn
  10. Illegal = Criminal. Deportation is what is SUPPOSED to happen. Why are you pointing this out?
  11. I know I'm in the minority here.... but I absolutely HATE Halloween. I was at the vet's office yesterday. The girl who checked me out had a (fake) oozing bloody cut/scar across her face. Disgusting and inappropriate are only two adjectives....
  12. Nah....I have about equal amounts of criticism for both camps. And I certainly wasn't a Shearin stooge.
  13. Well, I mean there IS a birth certificate that magically appeared in Hawaii. Forgeries and false accusations seem to abound these days. I don't know if Mr Austin made the call, or if one of his supporters made it. Or if the call was made at all. What puzzles me is that the supervisor took time to make an issue of it, thereby lending his indirect support to his employee's campaign. I don't know what the truth is, nor do I care. Only pointing out that not everything you read on the internet is true, unless authored by yours truly.
  14. And we know that Mr. Austin himself made this alleged phone call, HOW? Because somebody alleges that they talked to him on the phone? How do we know that Mr. Tingler's supervisor ( or somebody posing as such) isn't aiding and assisting his campaign by a little dirty tricks maneuver?
  15. I've been CPAP-ing for more than 10 years. I now have an AUTO-Pap which senses how much pressure I need to keep the airway open. It varies the pressure both while I inhale or exhale. I've had both the regular CPAP and the BiPAP and had trouble acclimating to them. The auto pap costs a ton of $$$, but once it is fitted, no more sleep tests. I use a mask called the Breeze from Malinkrodt . It is light, no strap marks, and it is pretty comfortable. My sleep doc is Arris Iatradis at Georgia Lung. He's a good 'un.
  16. Be careful there. That's how WalkingTall/The Postman got started.
  17. My commercial glass company usually runs about $9,000 a month in credit/debit card transactions. The fees range from just a few cents to swipe a debit card to a hefty percentage if the customer presents a "points" card. Those bonus "cash back" or "mileage" cards are funded by the merchant in higher fees. Cards swiped through the machine cost me less than those where we have to manually key in the number. My monthly transaction fees average less than 2%. MC and Visa fees are less than Discover, and Amex is outrageous. From a cash flow standpoint, I'd much rather use plastic than take
  18. I wonder what part of never send a boy to do a man's job escaped them?
  19. Since my glass business does not do business in the greater Atlanta market, I don't have a dog in this particular fight, so to speak. So..... As we in the glass business call them "UN-Safelite"? Or, "Slave-lite"? I wouldn't let that bunch of monkeys work on my ex-mother in law's car, muchless a windshield I wanted to actually SEE out of. I could fill this and ten more threads about the underhanded and unprofessional doings of that slimy bunch. I've lost count of the number of leaky windshields that my shop has fixed (at the customer's expense) because Safelite did a lousy job
  20. I think you forgot to take your meds today.
  21. As a resident of the subdivision directly across the street from EPHS, I can tell you that I fervently wish that EPHS would NEVER score another point. I hate that freaking cannon with every fiber of my being.
  22. When I read the headline of this thread, my first reaction was " Hell, that's an easy answer. He's a liberal."
  23. As a long-time breeder and exhibitor of purebred dogs, we have seen the "good, the bad, and the ugly" where vet clinics are concerned. If it came to a life-threatening situation or a surgery on one of our dogs, only one vet would ever get his hands on them. I would trust Dr. Ricky Poe at EPaulding with their very lives. Around our house, "Let's go see Uncle Ricky" means "load up, dogs, you're going to the vet."
  24. That would mean you're running off at the mouth. Even more than usual...:yahoo:
