That's the classic liberal tactic. Divert and obfuscate. They NEVER have the honest facts on their side, so their only "out" is to become manure spreaders. Throw enough of it up against the wall and something is bound to stick. -

Hey, Dis.... I deliberately used the ghetto/urban "rampid" slang term because it had been used in another thread. I didn't misspell anything. Eym_Sirius just had to stick his liberal nose in and try to show off his (non-existent) intellectual superiority. I think a cut-out full size photo of Reagan displayed in the Oval Office would be more a more effective President than the empty suit now infesting the White House. -

Just keep your Big Wheel on the sidewalk, and everything will be fine.

To whom is it unsettling? That dead guy's got no emotions. I always looked at "pulling over" as an expression of sympathy to the surviving family.

Uhhhh..."simian" refers to MONKEYS. Semen, which is the word you probably meant to use, is the byproduct of monkey business. Stupidity is rampid, ain't it? -

Actually, Pubster, it double taxes "boomers", in that it manages to increase taxes on purchases of items purchased with savings. If the FT were implemented, (theoretically) a national sales tax would be implemented on items purchased from current income (meaning that the withholding were to be eliminated). Suppose I were to decide to tap my pre-FT savings and buy a new Corvette??? I have paid income taxes on that money as I accumulated it in my savings account. Now, I get to pay FT on that money again, in addition to the GA sales tax. -

In my next life, I wanna come back and be an insurance agent
glassdogs replied to glassdogs's topic in RECENT TOPICS
I already AM insured with USAA, Have been for 30+ years. Home and personal vehicles. This is business coverage, and USAA doesn't offer that except through an affilliate (Hartford, I think.) and when I contacted them, they weren't interested in my industry, and because I didn't need worker's comp and a bunch of "coverages", I didn't make their minimum premium. -
It's difficult to believe that a businessman can walk into an insurance office, give them the pertinent information, specify what coverages he wants, provide the VIN on the vehicle, have a clean DMV. etc., and not be able to so much as even get a quote. I have been INSIDE two different general agencies here in Paulding in the past three weeks, wanting to do business. You think anybody could be bothered to even call me back with a flippin' quote? These people must have thousands of customers and not need any more business.

That price sounds about right. The best installations use a heated urethane, SIKA's ASAP is what we used. The safe drive away time is only an hour with the heated urethanes. The cold-applied can take up to 4 hours to cure enough for the vehicle to be safe to drive. It's not that the glass will move or leak, it's that the glass needs to be retained in the car in the event of an air bag deployment. Urethanes take a while to cure to that 'safe' adhesion. PGW is good glass. Happy I could help. -

Ask them what brand glass they use. PGW or Pilkington ONLY!!!! Ask them what brand urethane they use. Dow or Sika ONLY. That price can't include a new molding. I bet they will hit you up for the molding after they get started, because yours "can't be reused" and that will be another $50-60. If they give you some other brand of glass or urethane, RUN. Trust me on this, was in the biz for a long time and I know the ins and outs. -

whatever hit the glass may have broken both layers of glass, but it didn't penetrate the clear inner film, at least it doesn't have appeared to from the photos. It looks like a rock, and it could have been dropped by a bird. For real. If you haven't already made the deal, may I suggest that you rethink using un-Safelite as your glass provider? They put JUNK quality glass in and their techs are marginal. There are several independent glass companies around. Just be sure they use PGW or Pilkington glass, not the Chinese crap that Safelite sells. Your insurance company HAS to let you -

Over the past 5 years, I've seen 1000's of broken windshields. I only remember seeing one where something penetrated the windshield. A guy hit a big old wild turkey while he was doing about 60mph. The carcass ended up in the passenger seat. I've seen w/s broken by hail and by tornado debris, etc. That film of glass in between the two layers of glass is NOT supposed to allow penetration. Well, bullets, maybe. I have never seen a rock go all the way through the w/s. I'd be interested to know who the mfg was of your windshield? There is a logo in the bottom right corner. -
Whenever an employee gave me notice, I usually just released them at that point. The one or two times that I asked someone to stay through their notice period blew up in my face. Don't be surprised if they just tell you to clean out your desk.
