National Weather Service is saying its going to be down to 10 degrees Saturday night. The poor buds and early blooms.. Also - if you are interested, visit Talkweather Forums again, and view the possible Valentines Day nastiness that may be coming. One of the MANY models says 1 hour freezing rain for our area on Valentines Day...

Lotsa noise and chatter this morning about all the models looking like there is something ( wons- related ) coming 16th-18th, although it IS 10 days away.... WONS is that dirty word backward

Nothing giving any hint of a possible weather event upcoming on the "basic places", for instance, Weather Channel, Accuweather, NWS ( National Weather Service ), etc. However, someone on this board got me looking at " Talkweather Forums". It is a message board for those who constantly monitor for a hobby, all the weather models, then discuss them on the board. They are ALL wound up about a possibility of an upcoming southeastern event within the next week, possibly even this weekend, but are mentioning it wont be generally announced yet, as the models could change. If you are interested, go t

Why not begin an informal one? Say- if someone has the room, a potluck supper night with board games? I know, sounds ridiculously old fashioned, but its a way to meet and not invest alot of money in case it wasnt to your liking. I personally would like to use our swimming pool more in the summer, we really dont use it a heck of alot. Maybe I could have a pot luck supper in the summer, and those that have kids, the kids could enjoy the pool while the adults played board games, while taking turns w adults overseeing swimming. I am always hoping to meet more wildflower gardeners, as I like to

The fact that they are using " outward appearance " to judge level of disability is just wrong, and a lazy way of making judgements. My heart goes out to all that haved loved ones in this situation. I myself, for my SILs situation with H., wonder if chemical castration for H. would be something that would help? I know it sounds terrible, and I am not saying it is the ideal by any means. To add to other's comments about the raging hormones that affect severly autistic males, absolutely yes, that IS part of what is going on. I cant type the situation without wincing ( trying not to be graphic) b

My sister-in-law in FL has the unfortunate problem of trying to figure out how to handle her son ( severly Autistic) when he is DONE with school. He is 18 yrs old and he is "finishing" high school this spring. He is about 6'2", 275 lbs, and aggressive if he doesnt get his way. On all different types of meds just to keep him IN school.I wrote about him earlier this year here on pcom, because the school board there decided to use tasers on difficult cases, which my SIL knows that H. will be the first one tased, as he has been very very difficult at school, all along. Teachers have gotten injured

High strung Pats fan here............ -
If they didnt offer you to purchase " Lixotinic " , you may want to just look into that. It is a liquid high iron supplementation. We used to give it to animals who were anemic when I worked as a tech. I am not by any means saying you should start giving this - a vet needs to say ok to it. Just read about it, and you then can call and ask. We used to give a teeny drop to baby kittens that were so loaded with fleas, that they were anemic, and in danger. Basically being exsanguinated (sp) ( drained of blood) to death by fleas.

Ditto! Lots of interesting people- we do laugh alot! There is one guy that has become kind of a buddy of our group, out on the dance floor he'll join all of us, and he is so funny dancing, and he hams it up! We call him "Crazy Legs!" Then occasionally there is the guy that comes in his KILT. We have a name for him too! Fits his personality! So thats really entertaining!

A friend and I go fairly often. Its ok, we go for the dancing, since it's good exercise. Very much a " hook-up" place- and its definitely got a seedy side to it too ( the YUCK factor) . I personally would like to hear some different music ( same songs played every time I have been there.) My friend has other work friends of hers that meet us there, and they bring friends sometimes, so sometimes we have a table of 4-6, sometimes 10. My friend doesnt drink, never has, and she likes doing the drive, so that isnt a problem. The other issue is THE SMOKE- horrible. My husband can smell it on me the

Sorry if it was depressing, I didnt mean it to be so- it was more of an observation type of thing. I give families credit for soldiering through these things, and still working on being a family, when everyone could say, "whew, thats enough," and walk away.. Kind of a remark of the strength and fortitude of families...

I got to thinking today, the trials that families go through, the challenges, scares, obstacles, sorrow ( dont get me wrong, after I thought about THOSE, I made sure I thought about all the wonderful things families go through!)But in my family, and my husbands family combined, this is the list from the past 20 years...Alcoholism, autism, Ahlzeimers, infertility, infidelity, divorce, job loss, deaths of children ( drowning of a 3 year old, and sudden death of a 28 year old)severe Rhematoid and Osteo arthritis, Brain cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, lymphoma, esophageal cance

You have me there, I have to admit. Everything IS packed on Friday nights. I myself would love to have a Panera Bread or Einsteins also. Restaurants do demographics, and perhaps the results gave them the idea that they would not be as profitable as other places. Its thousands, if not a million or more for people to buy into these concepts as franchisees. And banks just arent taking a risk at all. I am very familiar with it because my husband was working for Raving Brands, which USED to own Moes Southwest Grill ( Raving Brands sold it to FOCUS Brands in '07 or '08 for $$$$$$$)my husband was the

:)The reason that there is an increase in Auto Parts and tire stores is because in this economy, people tend to hang onto cars as long as they can, and do the work themselves. My brother in law used to be a regional manager for Advance Auto in NY/ Northern Pa area- the economy going south didnt touch them- it was a time of GROWTH. People in this economy dont nessessarily have the money to eat at Einsteins or Panera. Quite a few of the stores you probably would have liked going to, left Hiram ( as well as other places) when all the S#&^ hit the fan in 2008. Pier One, Atlanta Bread( like Pan
