She had nothing to do with the Tate/LaBianco murders other than being part of the "family" which members did commit. There was no evidence she even knew what the others were doing. As far as assassinate a president, she waved an unloaded gun in his presence (no bullets in the chamber although there were some in the clip) and even said there wasn't an attempt or what she meant. She was an extremely naive vulnerable individual who didn't know her path and fell into bad influences. Volunteering? Do you want to do this in the evenings or weekends? I ask because you said with your 10 yo. What do you like? That's where I would start .... there are lots of opportunities like the Animal Shelter, you son's school, sport programs, etc .....
