I just saw this about half an hour ago. It did make me smile!! Having worked with a grown person with a brain injury and countless naysayers telling me that he'd not walk or be off a ventilator , I can promise you that you can never tell how much he will recover. I admire their strength and commitment to his recovery. With him being so very young there are many great moments like this to come.

More to the story is... We had worked together for at least 12 years and earlier in the day I reprimanded him for incompetence, insubordination and general jackassery... I sent the note to HR and it found it's way to the individual that handles those things and they decided to take that course of action. After the incident I terminated him as an instructor and he remained as a faculty member.

Someone who taught for me left a note (yes, hand written) and asked me this question: "Why is it when women act like men they act like nasty men?" He had to take sexual harassment classes and write a formal apology then lost his teaching gig for me.

Every time this gets kicked back to the "Recent Topics" page all I can think of is this...
