Something no one else has mentioned is that you can also change the font size on a kindle (probably can do the same on a nook) which makes it great for an older person with eyesight problems. No more buying large print editions.

In 2008 election during the last two weeks of the election it got to the point our answering machine would be filled with robocall msgs and the calls would continue on until ;ate in the evening. That was what convinced me to finally get rid of my landline. I thought it would be a pain to figure out who to notify that we disconnected it, but just went with the doctor, dentist, vet, bank, and everyone set up in the contact list on my phone. It has been SO nice to have eliminated sales calls and robocalls...should have eliminated the land line a log time ago.

We built dams and caught tadpoles. We had a huge garden in our backyard and one of our chores was to make sure water the plants and to help pick the vegetables (which were either going to be on the dinner table that night or my mom would can or freeze them later). My brother and I played pitch...but with a twist. One of us would stand in the front yard, the other would stand in the back. The "pitcher" would yell "Here it comes" and throw the ball OVER the roof of the house. The "catcher" would retrieve the ball and toss it BACK OVER the roof of the house. The game was over with when t

I hope that either they did blow away or the cemetery workers removed them rather than someone stealing. Although, theft does happen. For years, my aunt would always have her local florist make a special arrangement for my grandparent's birthdays and a special Christmas arrangement since that was also their anniversary. She stopped about five years ago because the arrangements began disappearing within 24-48 hours after she had placed them on the grave. Hers was not the only arrangements that were disappearing and even though people complained, the cemetery didn't really seem intere

Just as an FYI....One troop has a stand set up at Sam's Club in Hiram today. $3 per box.

I e-filed on 1/27. State was direct deposited on 2/3; Fed was direct deposited on 2/5.

I'll take a stab...and I promise I didn't google. I'm just old (enough....barely.....sortof) 1. Don't know...don't care...just not a fan. 2. I kind of remember the song, don't know the name. It was about a sick kid talking to truck drivers on a CB. I think the name was Teddy Bear(?) 3. Song - Honey. Artist - Bobby Goldboro. (He had a massive head of hair and one of his "schticks" was that he could chirp like a cricket. 4. Artist - Charley Pride. Next Line - ...and let her know you think about her when you're gone -OR- ...and love her like the devil when you get back home. 5.

I agree on The Barefoot Contessa. Another good one would be Giada DeLaurentis.

desperate? Sick? You got that right. I like what happens at the end when they show scenes from upcoming episodes....all of which are "the most shocking eisode in bachelor history" or "a show with the most surpising ending ever." what I'd like to see them do is cast a season with a bunch of Jerry springer rejects. That would make for some fun tv. Catfights every week, bachelor struttin his stuff in a wife beater and ripped up jeans with a can of skoal in his back pocket, and the "going home episode" to meet the rest of the family would be priceless.

Here's a recap of episode 1: bachelor meets 25 or so bitc, er, bachelorettes. Of those: one will be from a foreign country, probably California. One will have never dated anyone one will be certified crazy one will be the one everybody hates but will make it to the final five one will have some scandalous secret and 15 will be from skank city within 10 minutes of meeting the bachelor, 10 of the women will be all over him like maggots on a dead possum in July and two others will be in tears. By the end of the show he will give roses to about 15 of the bitc,er...bachelorettes,

I did this one year for my grandmother, as well. She was an invalid and funds were limited. I bought her a ton of birthday cards, sympathy cards, thinking of you, wedding cards, thank you notes, etc. as well as a roll of stamps. She had an absolute fit and said it was the best present she ever got. She always had to send my grandfather out do this type of shopping for her and invariably he would either forget the card or come back with the wrong type. Another idea as far as gift cards are concerned...if they use any sort of prescription medications, see if you can get them a gift card

I've been following the story on ajc. Something is not right with this kid. The paper said on Friday before the trial started he was sitting in the courtroom telling his mom what he wanted for Christmas; then after the verdict he skips down the hall to the vending machine, says he understands the verdict after it's explained to him. He sees the mother of the baby testifying and crying. He sees his mom crying and trying to comfort the mother during the trial. He sees the mother of the baby break down and cry when the verdict is read. When does HE cry? When he finds out he ca

One more thing....try to get one of the National Parks Passport books. It's a little booklet that tells you a little about each of the individual parks along with blank pages at the end of each section so that you can have the book stamped with a cancellation stamp at the park's visitors center. National Parks Passport Book As for the trip itself, one of the things I would be concerned about would be you being the sole driver. That's a lot of driving for one person hauling a trailer around. Plus some of the roads inside the parks are bound to be winding and narrow making. T

If I'm not mistaken, the inno is the ONLY one that can record...it's a combination radio receiver/MP3 recorder. I got it before the XM/Sirius merge; the inno was made by XM. I don't know if Sirius had an inno version. But to clear up the confusion, you can listen to live programming if you want...-OR- set it to record a program and you can listen to it later. Here's the info on it.... Pioneer Inno But as C. Mark said above, check out ebay, craig's list or amazon because you can probably find it much cheaper.
-
Regarding equipment, I got an inno; the reason was because it is COMPLETELY portable. It's about the size of an ipod nano and you can record programming on it and listen to it later. I can stick in the car and listen, I can bring it in the house and put it on it's dock and listen, AND I'm lucky enough to get a signal in my office at work with no antenna so I can listen at work as well.

This one is my favorite so far:

Why not get a spiral bound book of 3 x 5 (or 4 x 6) index cards? Maybe find some with no lines. Let her decorate the front and back with Disney stickers. She's then has a cheap book to tote around to collect autographs in. It's small enough to fit in a purse or fanny pack and since it's spiral bound, you don't have to worry about loose papers flying around. Then, as someone else said, when you get home you can make a scrapbook putting the picture on the scrapbook page, then tear out the index card from the book and crop around the signature using some funky scissors.

Bobby and Jaime Deen grew up eating Paula's cooking and both of them are lookin' FINE! Bobby was being interviewed once and the interviewer asked him what Paula's favorite food was. Bobby didn't miss a beat and said "Butter." Then he laughed and said "She's gonna kill me if she sees this."

Methinks Baba acted that way because she missed a few day's worth of her Activia yogurts.

That was going to be my question. If the second wife and/or the stepsons made all of the arrangements and excluded your husband and his uncle from the process (along with any mention of them in the service) then that was really pretty shoddy.

Scalpicin on a Q-Tip works too. It might burn for a second, but it does quell the itching.
