  1. Luckily she is in Cobb, so she still has water, and the main part of the house is dry. Her basement (partially finished), is a disaster. It is affecting stuff upstairs, too, like books growing mold, etc. ETA: And no insurance, since she was not on the "flood plain."
  2. I want to go help a friend clean up, but I'm afraid my allergies will make my head explode. Is there a mask that will do any good?
  3. That explains it...partially.
  4. I went in my teens. Don't get the appeal now.
  5. If you have Soapnet, it comes on there at 7PM.
  6. Good idea! I have one like this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1217514575711
  7. Wow. Something like this really brings out people's true character, good or bad.
  8. That was around 10am. The other direction was fine. Of course, timing...
  9. I did finally make it to an appt near downtown PS this morning (tried twice on Monday). Luckily I could avoid RD Sailors/PS Rd. It was ridiculous heading toward Marietta.
  10. If you have the capability, you can email it to yourself. I think you might need some sort of synch software, otherwise.
  11. I had no problems getting downtown or home yesterday. Working at home today, luckily.
  12. I was trying to find someone to go to the beer tasting with me. I've talked to the owners, and they're going in a more "high gravity, import" direction. YES!
  13. Glad I'm working at home today. I go in so early, though, that it might not matter.
  14. Thanks to the older gentleman at the Citgo on Maxham (Monday, 7pm...ish) who tried to help me avoid blocked alternates and find a way home. He was letting someone use his cell phone, too, and helping others who came in figure out what else was blocked, etc. And thanks to the guys and woman offering (and in some cases shooting down) ideas. Luckily someone came in who had just come from a possible alternate for me and told us that it was not blocked! I think at least 3 of us went that way. And to the guy from Louisiana who provided comic relief. "I thought I left this mess!"
  15. What a relief. I'm guilty of not asking names, too. I wish I got the names of the people at the gas station (Citgo?) on Maxham who steered me away from blocked alternates, and got me to one that was clear. I think one of the guys was from this area, too. If you're reading this, thank you!
  16. 75S is open if you can get to it. I'm as far from there as 20, so for me it makes no difference.
  17. I've been looking at pics on ajc and 11 Alive, and people were swimming in it! I even saw a jet ski.
  18. No, but neither did Jack. No problems at all today. I read that the connector flooding was partially due to a blocked drain.
  19. About to leave. Hope I can get home.
  20. http://dot.cobbcountyga.gov/road_rept.htm I'll have to keep an eye on this.
  21. Yikes. I came from downtown. 75 N was flooded, so I ended up on 20W. ETA: I know it's 26 miles one way when I come up 75. Not sure about 20.
  22. It was when I came through around...4:30ish. I spent a good 2 hours trying to get back out of Austell. Macland was open from E/W to Hopkins around 8:00.
