We always carve two a year because I can't wait!! I love this time of year. Halloween is the best holiday ever. You get to give a gift to every child that comes to your home and they are grateful for an inch long candy bar! We carved our first pumpkin Friday night. That one won't make it past this weekend probably but we won't carve the next one until a day or two before Halloween. I have heard that if you rub Vaseline on the cut parts of the pumpkin it will last longer but we've never tried it. Maybe someone else has and can let us know???

That is such a great movie. Anytime I think of that movie it reminds me of my sister. She didn't know she was pregnant yet but she, my mom, and I sat down to watch it and she started sobbing as soon as it *almost* got sad. My mom asked her if she was pregnant and she said no but later that week she found out that she was, in fact, pregnant!! That baby is now 11 so that movie makes me cry for a couple of reasons!

Just thinking about the scenes you've mentioned makes my throat tighten up. The newest one that got to me was My Sister's Keeper. That one even got to my husband.

Two dogs were running down our street tonight and I called them to me. They came running and are very sweet. One looks like a Dachshund and one is a Brindle colored boxer. The problem is that we're having a hard time keeping them on the porch with us but they're hanging around in the yard. If these sweet little pups belong to you or someone you know, please let me know. Because of their temperaments I feel like they must have a home and I would love to find it!

I don't usually have these ingredients around the house (because i would make this cake all the time if I did) but it is really, really simple. Dump Cake 1 box yellow cake 1 large can crushed pineapple 1 can cherry pie filling 2 sticks of butter Pour the fruit on the bottom of a 13X9 pan and top with DRY cake mix. Cut the two sticks of butter into small pieces and place on top of dry cake mix. Bake @ 350 until top of cake is brown all over.

Until recently I didn't make any extra money but last year I got a phone call from a friend of mine who teaches and she asked me if I would be interested in keeping her son during the school year. The extra money has been very useful. My parents have also asked me to start cleaning their house weekly, and my neighbor pays me to clean her house and her daughter's house once a month. I went from being a stay at home mom only to having four extra jobs...and haven't even realized it until right now. My husband makes very good money and that is the only reason I've been able to stay home with o

I was teaching 3 year pre-k. I had walked to the office to turn in lunch orders and heard one of the parents talking about it but it was almost like they were whispering and leaving words out. It's hard to describe it I guess. I called my mom and dad to ask them if they had heard about anything happening and my mom told me what she knew. As soon as my students went home, I also went home. It was terrifying.

I am so sorry for everything that you are dealing with right now. Your mom and the family will be in my prayers.

Sounds great!! We're going out tonight for my best friend's bday and the little one is going to my sisters house (I think she'd live there if we would let her!) and tomorrow will be a family day. Sunday we're going to the race and the little one is going to my parents house and we'll pick her up Monday. Then on Tuesday....sniff.....sniff.....the little one starts school. I'm not going to think about that until Monday though, because I would really like to enjoy the weekend.

I am in disbelief right now over what I have just read. I am so sorry you can't be there with her. I am sorry that she isn't being taken care of the way she needs to be, and I am praying that things turn around quickly.
